Notes: (i) HDD is to be carried out in curved path in single shot, which includes bending of bore path in horizontal as well as vertical plane due to space constraints and other limitations. Instant HDD is critical in nature as there is space constraint at both side of the Railway crossing and surrounding consists of Nala, Pond, Railway track, road & undulated/hilly terrain with shops/ houses along the road in a short span. Contractor may have to acquire additional land for placement of HDD rig/string prepration. Crossing width indicated in the bid document may vary as per site condition. Bidders are advised to visit the site and carry out confirmatory bore-logs if felt necessary, before quoting, for actual assessment of extent of crossing, quantum of work, site condition, soil strata and to assess the extent of cover which may have to be provided. Actual string length for HDD shall be as per design calculations so that pipe is not under stress as permitted by codes/ specifications. Final length of string shall be decided after decision of minimum cover requirement by concerned Authority/ Engineer-in-charge.
(ii) The Bidder has to quote for X-ing alongwith 6" CS conduit. It is sole discretion of the Contractor to do HDD crossing of mainline pipe as well as CS conduit pipe either by suitabily strapping together both the carrier pipe & CS conduit and pulled through the same drill hole or making separate curved HDD for 6" CS conduit for OFC laying at minimum 4m distance apart from centreline of HDD of mainline either side. This decision will also depend upon the authority permission and space constraint in ROU. No separate payment for HDD for 6" CS conduit shall be paid in any of the above cases.
(iii) Payment shall be made only for the tied-in carrier pipeline length as per approved profile or actual executed profile length whichever is less. In case actual executed profile length is more than the approved profile length due to site constraints, the same needs to be jointly recorded and certfied by Owner, PMC and Contractor for payment purpose. The above item rate is inclusive of installation of HDPE ducts, blowing of OFC inside 2 nos. HDPE duct in CS conduit, which is laid by HDD method and no separate payments shall be made under any other clause mentioned elsewhere.
(iv) Survey data reports to the extent available are attached with the tender document. Contractor shall mandatorily be required to carry out topographic survey and geotechnical investigation without any cost and time implication. The contractor shall submit design calculation and all construction (profile) drawings, survey data for GAIL / PMC approval. Work shall start only after approval of the above.
(v) Contractor shall not be entilted for any extra payment due to change of strata, location / area constraint, higher capacity of rig, etc.
(vi) Preparation of pipeline & CS conduit string including welding, coating and pre-testing of carrier pipe and making the pipeline ready for installation by HDD method are exclusive of above SOR item and their payment shall be made under other SOR item mentioned elsewhere in SOR. (vii) Void (viii) The above works is excluding supply of required length of CS conduit which is covered elsewhere in the SOR.
(ix) Based on the soil strata, if bidder / contractor feels requirement of any additional protective coating over and above 3LPE coated pipe/ joint coating for successful pulling / execution of HDD, the same shall be supplied and installed by the contractor after due approval by EIC without any additional cost to company and cost for the same is deemed to be included in above quoted rate.
(x) Contractor may have to excavate & maintain some area upto a depth suitable for placement of HDD rig in order to achieve the desired cover as per site conditions and approved profile drawing. Above item rate is inclusive of all work and all material such as sheet piling etc. required for excavation. No additional payment on this account shall be made to Contractor and the quoted rates are deemed to be inclusive of same. Bidders are advised to visit the site for assessment of actual site conditions and quantum of work to be executed.
(xi) As per railway guidelines, class-4 thickness linepipe shall be used in Railway ROU and at least upto risk radius on either side.
(xii) Depth of the Centre line of the pulled Carrier Pipeline by curved HDD method at entry and exit shall be kept at approx. 2.0 meter for final tie-in with existing laid pipeline, however, in case Contractor fails to maintain above depth of 2.0 meter and depth of the Centre line of the pulled Carrier Pipeline by curved HDD method at entry and exit pits are more than 2.0 meter due to unavoidable site conditions/issues, then contractor has to extend the pulled carrier pipe by laying of additional carrier pipe section through open cut trench method upto required length to maintain the desired cover (approx. 2m). Work involved for bringing the pipeline at desired depth ie; excavation, sheet piling (if required), dewatering and to maintain the pit dry, Tie-in , NDT, Joint coating , backfilling, restoration of site etc. as per specification are included in the scope of this item . Pipeline laying by open cut from higher depth to approx. 2.0 meter depth shall be payable through separate item available elsewhere in SOR ie A00200.
