MANNING AND OPERATION OF WATER SUPPLY, SEWAGE INSTALLATIONS AND COMPREHENSIVE MAINTENANCE OF SWIMMING POOL AT BAMBOLIM AND ALTINHO UNDER GE PANAJI, GOA.

Manning and operation of water supply installations in two shifts per day by providing one Fitter General Mechanic (FGM) per each shift (each shift of eight hours duration) including maintenance and operation of connected items such as sluice valve / Gate valve connected to suction and delivery of the pump sets, rising main, all connected valves of different pumps and distribution line within the premises of the pump house including electrical items such as main switches, star delta / DOL starters, voltmeters, ammeters etc. in the panel board and chlorination of water etc. at pump house No 1 and 2 at Bambolim consisting of 06 Nos of centrifugal pump sets and associated electric devices complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Manning and operation of pump sets connected to the swimming pool and Pump House at Altinho, Panaji in two shifts per day by providing one Fitter General Mechanic (FGM) per shift (each shift of eight hours duration), consisting 04 Nos of pump sets including operation of filtration plant, connected valves, electrical items such as main switches star delta / DOL starters, voltmeters, ammeters etc in the panel board and addition of required quantity of chemicals in swimming pool all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

NOTES APPLICABLE TO SERIAL ITEM No. 1.00 to 3.00

(a) Chemicals will be measured and paid for separately under relevant item of Sch ‘A’

(b) Grease, gland packing for valves/pumps, bolts, nuts washers, rubber packing etc. required for the routine maintenance will be provided by the contractor. The rates quoted are deemed to include the cost of the same.

(c) Pump will be operated as directed by Engineer-in-Charge or his representative at the respective station.

(d) The operator shall be responsible for releasing water from the above mentioned pump house to the users at Panaji and Bambolim areas and maintaining clean and sterile water at the swimming pool at Panaji area all as directed by Engineer-In-Charge.

(e) Log sheets/ books for all the plants to be provided by the contractor and maintained by the operator. Weekly off shall be given to the employed staff and alternate arrangement shall be made by the contractor at no extra cost to the Govt.

(f) The rate quoted shall be deemed to include the cost of manual chlorination and for maintaining required quantity of free chlorine in water all as directed.

(g) Back wash to the filtration plant at Panaji shall be carried out weekly and when required depending upon the condition of water in order to keep the water dust free.

(h) The contractor will be responsible for the safe custody of the installation including maintain the surrounding area of installation by grass cutting and trimming of trees etc.

(j) The operator will be in proper uniform.

(k) Net protection to swimming pool well will be provided by the contractor to avoid outside dust into the well.

(l) STP pump house at DCP and OR area specified under serial item No 2 to be manned and operated after commissioning of STP.

Cleaning the bottom and side walls of the balancing tank of swimming pool at Altinho, Panaji by scrubbing with the lime water and removing the mud/ dirt/ lime collected at the bottom of the balancing tank complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Cleaning of swimming pool bottom with suction sweeper including side wall and steel ladder with nylon brush at Altinho, Panaji complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge

NOTES APPLICABLE TO ITEM No. 4.00 & 5.00

(a) Suction sweeper will be provided and maintained by the contractor at his own cost. Contractor has to provide large size brushes and other required equipment to clean the pool all as directed.

(b) The rate quoted shall be deemed to include the charges for divers for cleaning the side wall of the swimming pool once in every month and for maintaining clean and sterile water to the satisfaction of Engineer-In-Charge.

Supply and fix set of seven pieces of Chlorination tablets Chlorine Granules containing algaecide and coagulation of size of 50.80mm in diameter (pack of floating plastic sealed disposable packet with arrangement for appropriate water contact with tablet and circulation through the plastic packets, with arrangement for string for hanging suitable for disinfection algae control and coagulation of swimming pool water. Disinfection capacity is eight lack forty thousand liters of water to obtain free Chlorine of 0.5ppm at release replacement indication visual and weight variation) complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Make: Declibac Technologies or equivalent.

Supply and add the following chemicals for water treatment to keep the swimming pool water free from fungi and bacteria at Altinho, Panaji.

(a) Alum ferric compound of approved quality.

(b) Copper Sulphate

(c) Calcium Hypochlorite 65% to 75% available chlorine must contain appropriate quantities of dispersant/ corrosion inhibitors to prevent encrustation/ scaling in distribution system. Make: AQUAFIT of Shree Royalseema Hi-Strength Hypo Ltd.

(d) Stable Bleaching powder, Grade I

NOTES APPLICABLE FOR ITEM No. 7.00

(a) The above chemicals mentioned her-in-before shall be added in the swimming pool water on required basis depending upon the quality of water as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge or his representative.

(b) Prior approval shall be obtained before adding the chemicals and also with respect to the quality of the chemicals.

(c) water test kit will be provided by the contractor and test results will be entered in the register on daily basis

(d)Purchase voucher will be provided by the contractor to the Engineer-in-charge for onward submission to GE at the time of release of payment.
