Complete removal of existing plaster over the affected bricks using mechanical means and the affected brick shall be completely exposed and M&L for apparent visible effloresence to be first cleaned using hard wire brush and all crystal deposits to be removed , the bricks shall then be cleaned using soft brush of powdery crystals removed than make a 1:4 solutions of vinegar and water (1 Part vinegar to 4 parts water) and apply it to the efforescence affected area using a nylon brush and than all the vinegar water solution to sit on the surface of the affected area for 15 minutes, but do not allow the solution to dry and rinse the area with clean water using low pressure jet,two cycles of cleaning using vinager water solutions shall be repeated complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge

The joint of bricks so cleaned shall be pointed using cement putty made at site using latex / SBR polymer diluted at ratio (1:4) wth water , the solution so made shall be used to be mixed with cement to make a putty consistency paste and the cement putty shall be than applied in the joints which are clean and in SSD condition complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge
