REPAIR MAINT OF STEEL FURNITURE INCLUDING REWEAVING AND PAINTING OF FURNITURE AT NAVAL STATION KARANJA

1) Removal of existing unserviceable/broken wooden part from furniture article carefully without disturbing the adjoining parts.Supply and fixing new parts as per given specification and drg after tightening the joints by pinning, screwing, nailing, wedging, glueing,providing hinges, placing every part in-tact including polishing/painting the entire article with standard workmanship and as directed by GE/Engr-in-Charge.All furniture items is to be painted /poilshed only after making the entire item intact by tightening the joints. 2).Work will be executed inside Barrack Store yard of GE(Karanja NW) and at various sites as per requirement. 3).All Timber shall be of 1st class Hardwood fully . 4).Ply shall be BWR grade-1 of approved make/brand and shall confirm to IS-303. 5).All other material to be incorporate in the work shall be of latest IS standard specification. 6).Anti-termite and anti-bug treatment shall be whenever necessary before polishing the wooden item. 7)Plywood Make : Kitply/ century/anchor/Archid 8) Particle Board (Make -Novapan/Ecoboard/Kitply/Action Tesa/Greenlam) 9) Cane Make : Maharastra plastic industries / Indian plastic / National Cane (Kachigm – Daman)

The wood components shall be rubbed with apropriate size sand paper along the grains to remove any dust/ wax/unwanted stains from the surface. Any cracks or holes shall be filled with suitable wood filler of good quality approved by Engr -In - Charge. Two to three coats of French Polish of best quality shall be applied to prepared wood surface letting each coat to dry and absorbed fine sanding can be done if required as directed by Engg-In-Charge. Polishing to the following wooden furniture items will be also carried out in Officer /Jco/Ors Qtrs and unit lines location :-
