Construction and Laying of MS Pipeline from Storm Water Pumping Station to Adyar River at Fintech City in Nandambakkam Village, Alandur Taluk, Chennai District.

PART-1-Civil Works

Earth work excavation for foundation (for narrow excavation) in all soils and sub-soils as may be directed except in rock requiring blasting inclusive of bailing out water wherever necessary and depositing the surplus earth within the compound in places shown by the PMC/Employer with an initial lead of 10 mts and initial lift of 2 mts. and including necessary backfilling in layers of not more than 15 cm thick well rammed, watered and consolidated, clearing and levelling the site, etc., complete complying with standard specification.

Extra for every additional 1 metre lift or part thereof over the initial lift

Shoring, and strutting with sheet piles of size width 400 mm x height of 3m x thickness of 9mm as per IS 2314-1986 by driving on both sides of the trench from Ground Level up to the required depth and connecting the above sheet piles by horizontal strutting with sheet piles at an interval of 1.0m, fixing the sheet piles by connecting the horizontal strutting with casurina poles of 8cm to 10cm dia. at 1.50m interval and including removing the sheet piles after the pipelines are laid, jointed, tested, and stacking it safely for other uses. It includes the cost of sheet piles and casurina poles including labour charges for erecting the sheet piles, driving the sheet piles, removing the sheet piles, fixing Casurina poles, etc., complete and all other incidental charges for the depths ;

Refilling with excavated earth other than crushed stone sand with an initial head load of 100 mts. and depositing the earth as shown by the departmental officers in layers of not more than 15 cm thick well rammed, watered and consolidated by mechanical means approved by Engineer in charge, when earth is at suitable moisture content with desired field density upto 95% maximum dry density (modified heavy proctor test) for restoration of roads without settlement including HOM of machineries, complete. (The contractor shall take care while consolidating the earth, so that, pipes laid are not damaged due to mechanical compaction and shall restore the damaged pipes at his own cost, in case of damage).

Supplying and filling of sand (M-Sand) in layers of not more than 15 cm thick well watered, rammed and consolidated etc. complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the PMC/Employer.This item shall include rate for all soil testing as specified in standard specification.

Disposal of surplus earth including loading and conveyance within a distance of 5 km (basic cost of earth is zero) including loading charges and Conveyance Charges of 5 kms distance.

Dry stone pitching 22.5 cm thick including supply of stones and preparing surface complete.

Plain Cement Concrete 1:3:6 (One Cement, Three crushed stone sand and Six hard broken stone jelly) using 20 mm gauge hard broken granite stone jelly inclusive of shoring, strutting, bailing out water, ramming, curing etc. complete in all respect by the PMC/Employer.

Plain Cement Concrete 1:5:10 (One Cement, Five crushed stone sand and Ten hard broken stone jelly) using 40 mm gauge hard broken granite stone jelly for foundation including dewatering wherever necessary and laid in layers of not more than 15 cm thick well rammed, consolidated and curing etc. complete complying with standard specification

Providing and laying in position, Standardised Concrete Mix M-30 Grade in accordance with IS:456-2000 using 20mm and down graded hard broken granite stone jelly for all RCC items of works with minimum cementcontent of 400 kg/m3 and maximum water cement ratio of 0.45, including admixture (plasticiser / superplasticiser) in recommended proportions as per IS:9103 to accelerate, retard setting of concrete, improve workability without impairing strength and durability with about (5.0 cu.m.) 7730 kg. of 20mm machine crushed stone jelly and with about (3.3 cu.m.) 5156 kg. of 10-12mm machine crushed stone jelly and with about (4.79 cu.m') 7670 kg. of crushed stone sand, but excluding cost of reinforcement grill and fabricating charges, centering and shuttering and also including laying, vibrating with mechanical vibrators, finishing, curing, etc. and providing fixtures like fan clamps in the RCC floor/ roof slabs wherever necessary without claiming extra, etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the PMC/Employer. The coarse and fine aggregates to be used should comply with the requirements of IS Standards. (No separate payment will be made by the Department for the excess usage of materials).

Supplying and erecting steel centering including necessary supports for plane surfaces for Reinforced Cement Concrete works such as column footings, column pedestals, plinth beams, grade beams, staircase steps, etc. which require only nominal strutting using mild steel sheets of size 90cm x 60cm and 10 BG stiffened with welded mild steel angles of size 25mm x 25mm x 3 mm for boarding, laid over silver oak joists of size 10cm x 6.5cm spaced at about 75cm centre to centre or at suitable intervals etc.complete in all floors complying with standard specifcation. (Payment for centering shall be given after the concrete is laid).

Footing, Beam, Anchor / Thrust block, Columns, Pipe Encasement etc.

Supplying, fabricating and placing in position Mild Steel / Ribbed Tor Steel grills for all RCC works as per design given including cost of steel and G.I. binding wire of 18G in all floors etc. complete complying with standard specification. (Contractor has to make his own arrangements for the supply of steel and binding wire)

PART-2-Pipe Works

Pipelines, Specials and Appurtenances

Providing, Fabricating, shop welding, handling and delivery of MS pipes of spirally welded/Plate welded pipes, conforming to IS 10748 Grade 3 for spirally welded/IS 2062 Grade B for Plate welded.The rate also includes loading and unloading, transportation and other necessary equipment, labour, operation charges etc.,complete in all respects as per specifications and drawings.

1800 mm (Finished dia) with 12 mm shell thickness and 12mm internal cement mortor lining

Supply and Delivery of MS specials with inside lining/epoxy coating as per IS 13620-1993 and outside coating with cement mortar 20mm thick as per IS 1916-1989 and IS 7322-1985. MS specials includes bends, fittings, Flanges, tail pieces, Expanders, Reduces & Tees etc. The rate is inclusive of loading and unloading, transportation and other necessary equipment, labour, operation charges etc. Complete in all respects

Providing shop applied guniting (CM 1:3 over 50 x 50 mm weld mesh of 13 gauge) on the external surface of pipes and specials including supplying and fixing reinforcement as per specifications after cleaning the pipes including curing etc., at shop/fabrication yard and guniting the field joints at site between two pipes after testing complete in all respects as per specifications.complete as per IS 3589:2001

Providing shop applied internal CML 1: 2 of 12mm thick per metre as per specifications to the internal surfaces of mild steel pipeline, fittings, specials etc., including surface preparation, machine lining, curing and testing / inspection etc., complete as per IS 3589:2001

1848mm OD pipes & specials , 12 mm thick internal Cement mortar lining

Lowering of M.S pipes and specials into the trenches and laying to proper grade and alignment and as directed by the Employer/PMC. The rate also includes perfect linking and site welding of joints to M.S pipes after cleaning the surface including removing rust, millscales by using standard welding rod conforming to IS 6419 to correct position including radiography of joints, etc. complete.

Testing of pipes for water supply with hydraulic testing equipment by filling with water (including cost of water) and testing to recommended pressure in convenient stretches and attending the bursts if any occured during the test, excluding the cost of pipes but including other incidential and operational charges etc., complete for the following diametres of pipes.

Barricading work (Where the lines are in narrow width of municipality area, busy streets like Market, Bus-stand and in the Highways etc.) for laying of pipe line using casurina poles at 1.50m center to center (8cm to 10cm dia. and 1.80m height) vertical with horizontal poles in two rows, painting the vertical poles in the road facing sides with ready mix paint, tying the vertical and horizontal poles with coir rope including supplying, delivery and fixing of GI sheet (0.90m x 0.8mm thick) in the horizontal poles and fixing 75mm dia. reflectors including earth work excavation for fixing vertical posts and finally removing and stacking the materials safely for further use etc., complete and as directed by TIDCO Board officers.
