Soil testing for commercial power supply

The following works are to be carried out for soil testing to work services for infrastructure for commercial power supply of MPR at 273 SU AFS Bagdogra . A. Boring through Sand or Clay or Muddy soil from ground level upto 8.0 Mtrs 01 No. B. Carrying out standard penetration test in bore holes 02 Nos as per IS 2131 1985. C. Collecting disturbed samples at every 0.5 mtr or change of strata including packing handling and refilling of strata as per its original position all complete. D. Collecting undisturbed samples at every 1.0 mtr or change of strata including packing handling all complete as per IS 2131 1985 complete all as specified and as directed. E. Carrying out laboratory test and field test for i. Grain sizes. ii. Liquid and plastic limits. Iii. Natural moisture content. iv. Specific gravity. v. Bulk and dry density. vi. Shed characteristic of undisturbed samples using direct shear test. vii. Unconfined compression test. viii. Consolidation test. F. The report also to be include clearly as per the following parameters. i. Safe bearing capacity of the soil at different depth. ii. Whether effect of high water table has been considered or not while working out SBC. iii. Type of soil. iv. Suggested foundation type. G. Test report within the contract date in hard and soft copy required to be submitted to the Engr in Charge.
