PROVISION AND SOIL TESTING FOR THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF DEFICIENT IN-LIVING SAILORS ACCOMMODATION AT NAVAL BASE KARWAR

Amount

Mobilization of all soil testing machinery to site of single living accomodation for sailors at INS Kadamba Karwar Military station and back including erection and dismantling complete all as specified and directed.

Additional charges for shifting of entire machinery from one bore hole to another bore hole upto 50m distance complete all as specified and directed.

Sub -soil exploration work by conduction of 05 (five) nos bore holes of dia 150 mm upto maximum 20 mtr depth or upto the depth of refusal / rock which ever is earlier through soft over burden soil except rock or any like hard stratum in all respect as per IS code : 1892 (2021) and at location as indicated in the borehole location plan. :-

(a) Boring through any type of soil 0-10m deep up to refusal/rock strata

(b) Boring through any type of soil 10-20m deep up to refusal/rock strata

(c) Boring 20-30m if required due to site conditions

d) Boring in Hard rock as per condition Unforseen

Conducting Field SPT as per specifications of IS : 2131 (1981) at interval of 1.5 mtr starting from 0.5 mtr below EGL complete all as specified and directed.

Collection of representative undisturbed sample at interval of 0.5 mtrs starting from 0.00 m below EGL as per provision of relevant IS code complete all as specified and directed.

Conduction of relevant laboratory test to evaluate the following : (i) Type of soil and its gradation, (ii) consistency limit, (iii) natural density, (iv) Natural water content, (v) Shear test, (vi) Chemical analysis of soil in order to determine the above properties the following tests be conducted : (a) Sieve analysis on the coarse grained soil fraction, (b) hydrometer analysis on the fine grained soil fraction, (c) liquid and plastic limits, (d) Natural density and water content test, (e) Shear test, (f) free swell index, (d) Specific gravity test, (h) pore pressure parameters, (j) over consolidation ration and consolidation parameters.

Performing engineering analysis and submission of results of the investigation conducted in the bore holes and the laboratory investigation conducted on the soil sample collected from the boreholes be presented on the form of soil profile tables. For designing the foundation system of the proposed structure the following data are required : (a) type of foundation system, (b) depth below the ground level at which the foundation system to be laid, (c) recommendation for type of soil material for filing under floors and plinth protection, (d) Depth of expansive soil and its properties if any, (e) Recommended SBC for all the boreHoles including SBC for the depth of 1.50m,2.0m,2.50m and 3.0 m.Also vetting of soil test report from from NIT/IIT
