M&L for checking/testing of Earth resistance value of earthing pits Installed inside Air Force Station, Salua as required basis as directed by Engr in Charge or as scheduled and making the damaged earthing serviceable by pouring salted water into earthing or making continuity by GI/copper strips and bringing down the resistance value within specified limits i.e. 1 Ohm. including maintenance of existing earthing by cleaning the earth chamber funnel and cleaning of vegetation surrounding earthing pit up to 2 metres. Note: (i) The entire station will be divided into two zones as per earthing location and the contractor shall deploy separate team for each zone to test the resistance value of earthings in each zone to complete the process within one month. The entire process will be repeated after every three months upto completion of the contract. (ii) One earthing testing in one season is measured as one job. (iii) Digital Earth tester will be arranged by the contractor on his own. (iv) Date of testing and due date of testing will be written on the register with sign of user rep & Engr-in Charge is submitted to GE. (iv) Testing and corrective action shall be taken within one month from date of commencement i.e. approx 200 earthings shall be completed within one month. Thereafter or as directed by Engr-in Charge and same is to be completed within one month.The contractor shall deploy electrician with helper and testing equipment and all the resources to complete the task within one month. (v) If any material required for improvement of resistance value of earthing pit the same will be measured and paid separately.

Supply only epoxy earth strip insulator size 25 mmx 3 mm weather proof heat proof including base screw.complete all as specified and as directed

Supply only epoxy earth strip insulator size 32mmx6mm weather proof heat proof including base screw complete all as specified and as directed

Labour only for watering the existing earthing pits with salt as desired level at site all as specified and directed by Engr-in- Charge. Note:- (a) Contractor shall quote the rates by including the charges of making arrangement of watering the earthing pits at any site and location inside Air Force area (b) Salt shall be paid separately in respective item in Schedule.

Supply only salt suitable for earthing pit complete all as specified and directed.

M&L BFC (Back Filling Compound) chemical in 25 kg bag each, earth conductivity enhancing compound to level Chemical the existing chemical earth pit including taking out mud and other rubbishes from existing earth pit and cleaning complete as directed by Engr in Charge

M&L Brazing of earthing copper strips at various locations of size 20mm to 50mm width of thickness 3mm to 6mm by using oxygen and acetylene gas cylinder with copper rod material including removing of existing nut, bolt and insulator and refixng after brazing complete all as specified and directed Note :- 1. Any damage of building portion during working time will be repaired and made good deemed included in quoated rate of item. 2. Contractor shall be responsible to replace old wornout nut bolt and insulators with new material. cost of matrial also deemed included in quoated.

S&F PVC insulated 1 x 16 sqmm copper conductor single core (In green colour) including PVC rigid conduit dia 25mm and copper lugs use as earth continuity conductor complete as in repairs all as specified

Materials and Labour for provision of concrete earthing pit as shown on electrical plate No 3 of SSR Part –I (2009), in PCC (1:3:6) Type C1, pre-cast RCC (1:2:4) type B1 cover slab 54 cm x 54 cm x 5 cm reinforced with 8 mm dia. TMT bars @ 150 mm centre to centre both ways, with one handle for lifting made out of 8 mm dia. MS bar, including demolition of existing damaged earthing pit and including necessary earthwork in any type of soil, complete all as specified and directed.

Materials and Labour for Supply and installation & testing of fast copper earth electrode maintenance free chemical earthing having 3 mtr long copper pipe of minimum diameter 76 mm. There should be terminal for connection of 20 mm x 3 mm of copper strip with two holes of 14 mm diameter. FAST ELECTRODE is duly fitted with the highly conductive material with sealing at both ends with lead terminals of 20x3 mm copper strip at top, BFC (Backfilling compund chemical), earth conductivity enhancing compound alongwith Minimum 6 bags of 25 Kgs each of earth enhancing compound, including drilling a bore in earth of dia 300 mm dia. The chemical should be tested and certified by any international accredited laboratory. The earthhencing compound should be tested referring to protocol IS 1350/&/EC62321/111/54/CDV. The PH value of compound should be between 7 to 8. The content of mercury (Hg) & Hexacromium should be below detection level. The FAST ELECTRODE shall be dully tested & Certified by CPRI (Central Power Reserch Institution), Govt of India for a suitable minimum short circuit current for 1 second with initial pick of suitable KA. The Fast ELECTRODE shall be approved by CPRI, ERDA/NABL Lab including pit cover light weight made out of high quality polymer with lid made of FRP, including nessary testings and commissioning, complete all as specified and as directed. Notes:- (i) The work of earthing shall be carried out by authorised trained rep of OEM.

Notes (Contd...) (ii) The acceptable earth resistance at earth busbar/ test point shall be as per users requirement as desired by Engr-in-Charge but it should be below 01 Ohm. At certain locations, it may not be possible to achieve desired earth resistance with one electrode / pit due to higher soil resistivity,in such cases, provision of loop earthing consisting of more than one earth electrode pits shall be done. The number of pits required shall be decided based on the resistivity of soil and resistance achieved for the earth pits already installed. The distance between two successive earth electrodes shall not be less than 3 metres. (iii) The procedure mentioned here-in-before for one earth pit shall be repeated for other earth pits. (iv) Additional earth electrode pits and loop conductor shall be measured and paid seperately. (v) Earth strip size 20mmx 3mm for making connection/tripod and up to 5 Mtr from earthing set (vi) Testing for earth resistance shall be carried out in presence of GE and Engr-in-Charge. (vii) Taking out existing unserviceable earthing system complete. (viii) Original purchase vouchers for copper rod and back fill compound and manufacturer test certificate of entire quantity shall be produced by the contractor before commencement of work. (ix) The Earthing shall be carried out with Soil suitable for Agricultural purpose. is deemed to be included with unit rate of item beyond 5 mtr earth strip will be measured and paid sepearatly.

Preparation of old painted,concrete or plaster surfaces of exposed portion of existing concrete earthing pit of dimensions as shown on electrical plate No 3 of SSR Part –I (2009) and applying two coats of synthetic enamel paint (ordinary tint) including re- writing of Earthing Pit No.,Date of Testing, Earth Resistance value etc. on existing display board of earthing pit with synthetic enamel paint,complete all as specified and directed.

Preparation of new IDENTIFIER/MARKER made out of preferably metallic of size 30cm x 20cmx 2 mm thick metallic board fixed on MS Angle 30 X 30 X 5 mm of 450 mm long to be fixed to ground by means of cement concrete including painting with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of red oxide primer and writing the earth resistance complete and coloured with following colour chording to identify. a) For Chemical Earth pits -RED colour b) For conventional earth pits-YELLOW colour. Identification mark should be embossed on plate with following letters. c) LIGHTNING ARRESTER - LA (Oval shape) d) EQUIPMENT EARTH - EQ (Triangular shape) e) SIGNAL EARTH - SG (Dome shape) f) POWER SUPPLY EARTH- PS (Square shape) Height of the Identifier shall be 60cm above the ground level all as directed

S&F in replacement of Air termination, single pointed, copper rod 12mm dia and 300mm long complete all as specified.

Supply and fixing copper strip of size 32 x 6 mm as earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead fixed on "V" type porcelain insulator 10 BM heavy duty ( ceramic bus bar support insulator off white colour of min size of 36 mm width x 60 mm length with 36 mm width bus bar mounting base) saddle to wall, buried in ground or drawn in conduit/pipe or fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc. as required 32 x 6 mm copper strip brazing to each joints and connected with by providing brass nut bolts and washer all as specified and directed by Engr in Charge.Note : Insulators shall be provided on every 50 cm. (Minimum 2 x insulators shall be provided in every 1 x metre of strip deemed to be included in quoated rates)

S&F for Test Point junction box of suitable size with terminal block, IP 66 weather proof including four hexagonal anticorrisove screws for out door installation including provn of Test points as per IS specifications of shape and size 75x75x25 mm drilled and screwed incl 3 nos 8 mm dia 25 mm long hex head screw, made out of phospher bronze mounted and fixed on box with suitable grouting arrangements Suitable nut bolts, washers of various size as approved, complete duly fixed with ground/earth/roof conductor rigidly .

M&L for earthing complete with copper earth plate electrode 600x600x3mm thick buried directly in ground (Earth plate not less than 3.0 M in deep below ground level) with top edge of the plate not less than 2.4m below normal ground level connected to copper earth strip 20X3 mm by means of bolts, nuts, check nuts and washers of galvanized iron all as drected by Engr-in- Charge and connected to earthing test point all as specified and directed including necessary earth work in any type of strata and PCC 1:3:6 type B1 for chamber and RCC chamber cover 50mm thick in lieu of CI cover and copper strip protected by 40mm GI pipe light grade complete. Including filling of agriculture sand brought from out side defence land for earth pit as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Excavation and removal of excavated soil and filling of agriculture sand brought from out side defence land shall be included in the overall rate quated. No extra payment shall be paid. Note :- (a). The quoted rate includes the rate of Magnesium Sulphate of 40Kg per earth pit poured with salt and charcoal (To obtained earth resistance value and prepare test sheet of newly constructed earth pit shall be responsibility of contractor ) (b). If the desired earth resistance not obtained the earthing shall be re-done by contractor without any extra cost to Govt . (c) 40 mm dia light grade GI pipe for earth lead strip protection and earth strip up to 7.5 Mtr incl in quoted rates beyond that both are measured and paid separetely.

Supply & Fix brass copper Lighting arrestor 9.2 mm dia and 915 mm in length with 5 spikes and base plate 8.5x8.5 cm for buiding protection coverage of 45 degrees from top point 1.85 m complete all as specified and directed.

Cleaning the vegetation incl grass, bushes, small trees and all vegetation growth complete including digging out roots of bushes around installation/sump/OH tanks/bldgs/valve chambers ncl levelling the surface by removing debries to a distance n. ecx 50 mtr all as directed
