| 1.02(B) Luminaries carriage : The Lantern Carriage shall be of special design and shall be of class B MS Pipe construction, the tubes acting as conduits for wires, with holes fully protected by grommets. The Lantern Carriage shall be so designed and fabricated to hold the required number of flood light fittings and the control gearboxes, and also have a perfect self balance.The junction box shall be cast aluminium weather proof provided on the carriage assembly for terminating the trailing cable and power cable to luminaries. | |||||||||||
| 1.03(C) WINCH: For Raising and lowering the lantern carriage for the installation and maintenance of the luminaries and lamps, a suitabe Winch arrangement shall be provided with the winch fixed at the base of the Mast and the specially designed hard frame assembly at the top. The winch shall be of completely self sustaining type, without the need for brake shoe, springs or clutches. Each driving spindle of the winch shall be positively locked when not in use, gravity activated PAWLS. Individual drum also should be operated for fine adjustment of lantern carriage. | 1.04(D) Head Frame : The head frame, which is to be designed, as a capping unit of the mast, shall be of welded steel construction, galvanized both internally and externally after assembly. The top pully shall be appropriate diameter, large enough to accommodate the stainless steel wire ropes and the multi-core electric cable. The pulley block shall be made of non-corrodable material, and shall be of die cast Aluminium Alloy. | |||||||||||
| 1.05(E) Stainless Steel Wire Ropes: The suspension system shall essentially be without any intermediate joint and shall consist of only non-corrodable stainless steel of AISI-316 grade. The stainless steel wire ropes shall be of 7/19 construction, the central core being of the same material. The overall diameter of the rope shall not be less than 5 mm, safety of over 5 for the system at full load as per the TR-7 referred to in the beginning of this specification. The end constructions of ropes to the winch compression splices. Two continuous lengths of stainless steel wire ropes shall be used in the system and no intermediate joints are acceptable in view o the required safety. No intermediate joints/ terminations. Either bolted or else, shall be provided on the wire ropes between winch and lantern carriage. | 1.06(F) Power Tool for the Winch: A suitable, high-powered, electrically driven, internally mounted power tool, with manual over ride shall be supplied for the raising and lowering of the lantern carriage for maintenance purposes. The speed of the power tool shall be to suit the system. The power tool shall be single speed, provided with a motor of the required rating. The power tool shall be supplied complete with suitable control. The capacity and speed of the electric motor used in the power tool shall be suitable for the lifting of the design load installed on the lantern carriage. The power tool mounting shall be so designed that it will be not only self-supporting but also aligns the power tool perfectly with respect of the winch spindle during the operations. Also a handle for the manual operation of the winches in case of problems with the electrically operated tool shall be provided and shall incorporate a torque limiting device. The power tool operation shall always be through a separate torque-limiting device to protect the wire ropes from over stretching. It shall be mechancial with suitable load adjusting device. The torque limitor shall trip the load when it exceeds the adjusted limits. There shall be suitable provision for warning the operator once the load s tripped off. The torque limitor is a requirement as per the relevant standards in view of the overall safety of the system. Each mast shall have its own power tool motor. | |||||||||||
| 1.07(G) Aviation Obstruction Lights : Suitable single/double dome LED Aviation Obstruction Lights of reliable design and reputed manufcturer shall be provided on top of each mast. | |||||||||||
| 1.08(H) Earthing Terminals: 2 Nos, earth terminal using suitable diameter stainless steel bolts shall be provided at a convenient location on the base of the Mast, for lightening and electrical earthing of the mast. Each mast shall be earthed at two points using minimum 25x4 mmGI strip. Note : The quoted rate is deemed to include of following : (i) The cost of aviation obstruction light, Lightening arrestor spike, required suitable size of RCC foundation for the high mast pole with M20 grade concrete considering the safe soil bearing capacity at site as 10 T/sqmtr at 2 metre depth/as per manufacturer recommendation with all materials and labour complete as per OEM drawing after approval of Engr-in-Charge. The rate also include the cost of PVC/GI pipe 3 inch dia required to be fixed in foundation concrete for the passage of cable. and 4mm GI wire for earthing connection from LA spikes at top of the pole to the earthing point. (ii) Copper Tailing cable 5 core 2.5 sqmm of suitable length as required for installation of high mast. (iii) Manual and electric operation Non flame proof integral motor as per manufacturer design with gears, rope, double drum winch and movable lantern carriage for up and down operation. (iv) Wiring of fixture with copper wire 3 core 1.5 sqmm, flexible conduit and copper lug. (v) Erection commissioning of the high mast with the help of suitable T&P/Equipment. All as per item No. 4.00 here-in-before but cable of size 16 Sqmm 4.0 core complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Supply , installation and testing earthing complete with galvanised iron earth plate electrode of size 60 cm×60 cm.× 6mm thick, buried directly in ground (earth pit not lessthan 2.25 metres deep below ground level) with top edge of the plate not less than 1.5 metres below normal ground level, connected to and including GI Strip 32 x 6 mm (upto the body of equipment) by means of GI bolts/nuts/washers, protected by 40 mm bore GI medium grade pipe.Earth plate shall be surrounded by alternate layer of charcoal or coke and common salt 15 cm thick all around bottom and top. 20 mm bore GI medium grade pipe for watering and including funnel, wire mesh, RCC cover & frame, PCC (1:3:6) type C-2 (using 20 mm graded crushed stone aggregate) as in earthing pit including necessary excavation and earth work , all as specified and shown in electrical plate No 3 of MES Schedule Part-I. .Notes :- (i) PCC Chamber shall be constructed at least 1.5 metre away from the earth electrode and pipe for watering shall be provided in slanting maner. (ii) The unit rate includes earthing lead & protection pipe upto 7.5 metre from top of earth plate. (iii) On testing after completion if the desired earth resistance is not obtained the earthing will be redone at no extra cost.
Excavation in trenches n.exc 1.5m wide and n.exc 1.5m in depth for foundation for laying cable etc and getting out in soft/loose soil complete all as specified and directed.
Returning,filling in and including spreading levelling watering and well ramming in layers n.exc 25cm complete all as specified and directed.
Removing of excavated material (soil) to a distance n.exc 50m and depositing where directed at a level not exc 1.5m above the starting point complete all as specified and directed.
M&L bricks for protection cover to under ground cable (with old size sub class 'B' bricks) laid flat abutting each other with width of protection being equal to length of brick. The gap between should not exceed 10 mm as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
M&L for dry sand (Local Tibba sand) and punning for cushioning and cover for protection of under ground electric cable complete all as specified and as directed. Notes :-(i) Approved local Tibba dry sand free from vegetations, grass and other deleterious substances shall be used. (ii) For the purpose of payment, only punned thickness shall be measured.
Supply & fiixng of 50 mm bore GI Pipe, light grade, confirming to IS-1239 for cable protection on poles/walls/Road/crossing /floor crossing all as directed.
Labour for boring under road / drain PCC path by manual method for inserting the 50 mm dia light grade pipe GI tubing for cable protection all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
