Surface Preparation: Preparing the existing surface of concrete floor by scarification and cleaning by wire brushing etc. to remove all foreign contaminants, loosely adhered cementations layer, oil etc. to expose clean sound base concrete substrate. The existing joints (i.e. Construction Joints, expansion Joints, Dummy joints) shall be cleaned and removed from the joint fillers such as sealant etc. The loose concrete shall be removed from the joints and apron concrete surface and shall be cleaned with water jet until the surface free from any dust, unsound concrete, grease or oil etc. The surface shall be dried using the high pressure Compressor. The cost of hire charges of machineries and all labour charges etc. complete.
Providing and laying of 10 mm thick epoxy (of approved make such as (Sika, Fosroc, STP, Pidilite or equivalent) sand mortar, one part by weight of resin formulation mixed with fixed parts of sand, with suitable primer if required. The epoxy should comply to the following: (a) 1 Day Compressive Strength > 30 MPA (b) 1 Day Flexual Strength > 2.5 MPA (c) 2 Day Bond Strength > 2.5 MPA & sand grading conforming to the following : Sieve Size B6:C13 Medium Sand % passing 4.76 100 2.36 100 1.18 100 600 microns 50-60 300 microns 20-30 150 microns 20-30 1. Part By weight of Epoxy : 4 Parts of sand (Average layer thickness 10 mm)
Providing and laying in position Polysulphide sealant of approved make conforming to BS- 5212-1990 or IS: 11433-1995. in expansion/ construction/dummy joints including rounding off edges, applying 2 coats of approved primer compatible with the brand of Polysulphide and preparing the surface and applying masking tape along the edge of joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant on top surface and to give neat finish to the sealant and removing the masking tape after application of sealant etc. complete as per the direction of Engineer-in-Charge. a) Expansion Joints of size 25 mm wide and 12 mm deep over 30mm dia closed-cell Polyethylene foam back-up rod, as per specifications and as per sketch. b) Construction Joints size 10mm wide and 10 mm deep over 12 mm dia closed-cell Polyethylene foam backup rod, as per specifications and as per sketch. c) Dummy Joints size 10mm wide and 10 mm deep over 12 mm dia closed-cell Polyethylene foam backup rod, as per specifications and as per sketch. Note: For purpose of payment, quantity (Length x Width x depth) of Polysulphide sealant only will be measured)..
