1 Scope Supply of battery ground fault tracer which is able to find ground faults online in ungrounded battery D.C system upto 600V, in transmission substations, generating stations, UPS systems and other ungrounded DC System as well as IT and TT grounded system, in live switchyard upto 765 kV level, as per applicable standard testing procedure of KPTCL. Functional Requirement The instrument should be Automatically balanced instrument and capable to identify, track and locate ground fault in ungrounded D.C. Battery System – on line up to maximum voltage of the system 600 V dc.

2 The instrument should be Automatically balanced instrument and capable to identify, track and locate ground fault in IT grounded systems – on line up to maximum voltage of the system 600 Vac

3 The instrument receiver should also be able placed in a mode that will allow it to trace 60Hz and 50Hz currents on TT grounded systems with ground faults

4 The instrument should be able to measure Fault resistance, Fault current, Leakage capacitance, Leakage current without any tuning

5 The instrument should have capacitive pickup to identify the nature of the fault. Capacitive pickup compatible with receiver to segregate the resistive current and reactive current to identify the real resistive fault and avoid finding capacitive leakage due to long cables

6 The instrument should be able to provide continuous output instead of pulse output. Pulse output can easily be damped by noise

7 The instrument should be able to measure the voltage and able to Identifies the side of the string with the fault

8 The instrument should be provided with digital display of voltage and current Signal amplitudes

9 The instrument should be operable in high electrical noise environment with the provision to adjust the strength of test current

10 Charging System should be soft start to prevent sensitive relay tripping

11 The instrument should be immune to distributed noise

12 The instrument’s fault resistance range should be up to 400 k Ohm

13 The instrument should comprise of Transmitter that operates on mains and a portable, convenient, hand held receiver that operates on rechargeable battery
