Water proofing treatment of Cyber Building, connecting corridor of Main Building to Extension Building and Extension part of Geo-Chemistry Building at CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad

Description of Items :

Providing and laying APP (Atactic Polypropylene Polymer) modified prefabricated five layer 3 mm thick water proofing membrane make of Leaksheild or equivalent, black finished reinforced with non-woven polyester matt consisting of a coat of bitumen primer for bitumen membrane @ 0.40 litre/sqm by the same membrane manufacture of density at 25°C, 0.87-0.89 kg/litre and viscocity 70-160 cps. 2nd and 4th coat of bonding material @ 1.2 Kg/Sqm, which shall consist of blown type bitumen of grade 85/25 conforming to IS 702 (Over the primer coat providing and applying a bitumin coat shall be applied i.e 2nd coat.) After the bitumin coat the layer of membrane shall be laid using Butane Torch and sealing all joints etc, and preparing the surface complete.(After laying APP sheet, providing and applying a bitumen coat shall be applied on the top surface of APP sheet i.e 4th coat.) The vital physical and chemical parameters of the membrane shall be as under : Joint strength in longitudinal and transverse direction at 23°C as 650/450N/5cm. Tear strength in longitudinal and transverse direction as 300/250N. Softening point of membrane not less than 150°C. Cold flexibility shall be upto -2°C when tested in accordance with ASTM, D - 5147. The laying of membrane shall be got done through the authorised applicator of the manufacturer of membrane : (a) Guarantee Bond to be furnished for 10 years warranty and performance Bank Guarantee for additional 10% of the value of this item to be furnished before drawl of the final bill and to be extended every year, till the guarantee period of 10 years.

Removing of old waterproofing sheet/tarfelt/membrane by using manpower/mechnical/removing or rubbing with soaked cotton to complete removing and disposed the unserviceable materials out the camps.

Finishing the waterproofing treatment with a coat of solar reflecting Bituminous Aluminum paint @ 150 gms/sqm.

A. Surface Preparation : Surface to be free from frost, surface laitance and contamination free from loose aggregate or other sharp protrusions with fairly smooth finish for application of waterproof coating . construction Joints : Chase opening the concrete construction Joints by providing “ U ” groove, removing the dust and clean the designated area fill the prepared surface using Nitobond SBR modified mortar completely as per the manufacturer’s Instruction, following by providing chemical injection treatment in the form of pressure grouting to the cold joint by injecting cement slurry mixed with grout admixture Cebex 100 @ 225 gms per bag of cement, in the required consistency through the pre fixed PVC nozzles in the holes, fixing of PVC nozzles with Renderoc Plug and final cutting the projected nozzles and sealing off the PVC nozzles after the injection operation is over with Renderoc plug, nonshrink rapid setting mortar compound, finishing, curing etc. as per manufacturers specification and as directed. (per sqm minimum grouting point must be 1 or 2, If less point operated, the deduction of the rate will be applied)

Membrane Application Using NITOPROOF 600PF make of Fosroc or equivalent as approved by Engineer-in-charge: Supply and apply of Nitoproof 600 PF a single component pitch free polyurethane shall be applied in 2coats forms to 1.5 mm thicknesscures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to give a tough elastomeric waterproof embrane,Nitoproof 600 PF is a medium viscosity grade(approximately 600 poise) and has >400% of elongation, Extensibility after heat aging (min. requirement -extended to 6.4mm without cracking): No cracking or tearing, Service temperature (continuous ambient): -40°C to 70°C. It is supplied in a single grade to meet all site application methods and requirements. Shall be squeeze application for thickness of 1.5mm, followed by application of silica sand. Work shall be executed as by authorised Applicator .Application and methods shall be as per the Instruction of Fosroc Specification. Note: Priming is not normally required on good quality concrete substrates. However, absorbent surfaces suchas porous concrete will require sealing to prevent absorption of Nitoproof 600 PF.This should be done using a slurry coat of Nitobond sbr or equivalent as approved by Engineer-in-charge. Guarantee Bond to be furnished for 10 years warranty and performance Bank Guarantee for additional 10% of the value of this item to be furnished before drawl of the final bill and to be extended every year, till the guarantee period of 10 years.

High build fibre reinforced Acrylic Elastomeric Waterproofing Coating Brushbond Roofguard make of Fosroc or equivalent as approved by Engineer-in-charge: The surface shall be primed with water based acrylic primer Nitopime AW as per manufacturer;s specification. Allow the primer to dry for 2-3 hours. Application of Brushbond Roofguard or equivalent as approved by Engineer-in-charge in 3 coats with an overcoating time of 8-12 hours.to achieve a total DFT of 1mm.

Reinforced cement concrete work in beams, suspended floors, roofs having slope up to 15° landings, balconies, shelves, chajjas, intels, bands, window sills, coping, staircases and spiral stair cases above plinth level up to floor five level, excluding the cost of centering, shuttering, finishing and reinforcement with 1:1.5:3 (1 cement : 1.5 coarse sand(zone-III) : 3 graded stone aggregate 12 mm or lower nominal size).

Reinforcement for R.C.C work including straightening, cutting, bending, placing in position and binding all complete. Thermo-Mechanically Treated bars.

Cleaning of rain water drains of all depths by engaging required man power including removing of existing covers carefully and refixing properly including required cement plaster work etc to complete the job as per instructions of Engineer-In-Charge. Disposal of surplus earth/mud in the NGRI campus as per instructions of Engineer-In-Charge.

Demolishing cement concrete manually/ by mechanical means including disposal of material within 100 metres lead as per direction of Engineer - in - charge. Nominal concrete 1:3:6 or richer mix (i/c equivalent design mix)

Earth work in excavation by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator) / manual means over areas (exceeding 30 cm in depth, 1.5 m in width as well as 10sqm on plan) including getting out and disposal of excavated earth all lead and lift upto 1.5 m, as directed by Engineer-in-charge. All kinds of soil

Providing and laying in position cement concrete of specified grade excluding the cost of centering and shuttering - All work up to plinth level : 1:5:10 (1 cement : 5 fine sand : 10 graded stone aggregate 40 mm nominal size)

Brick work with common burnt clay F.P.S. (non modular) bricks of class designation 3.5 in foundation and plinth in: Cement mortar 1:6 (1 cement : 6 coarse sand)

15 mm cement plaster on the rough side of single or half brick wall of mix : 1:4 (1 cement: 4 fine sand) with spong finish

Chequerred precast cement concrete tiles 22 mm thick in footpath & courtyard, jointed with neat cement slurry mixed with pigment to match the shade of tiles, including rubbing and cleaning etc. complete, on 20 mm or more thick bed of cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement: 4 coarse sand). Dark shade pigment using ordinary cement ( make of standard tile or equivalent)
