CHAPTER - I CIVIL WORK

SUB HEAD - 1 ( Dismantling & Demolishing of old work)

Earth work in excavation by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator) / manual means in foundation trenches or drains (not exceeding 1.5 m in width or 10 sqm on plan), including dressing of sides and ramming of bottoms, lift upto 1.5 m, including getting out the excavated soil and disposal of surplus excavated soil as directed, within a lead of 50 m.

All kinds of soil.

Filling available excavated earth (excluding rock) in trenches, plinth, sides of foundations etc. in layers not exceeding 20cm in depth, consolidating each deposited layer by ramming and watering, lead up to 50 m and lift upto 1.5 m.

Dismantling tile work in floors and roofs laid in cement mortar including stacking material within 50 metres lead.

For thickness of tiles 10 mm to 25 mm

Dismantling doors, windows and clerestory windows (steel or wood) shutter including chowkhats, architrave, holdfasts etc. complete and stacking within 50 metres lead :

SUB HEAD - 2 ( Plastering & RCC work on old work)

15 mm cement plaster on rough side of single or half brick wall of mix:

Reinforced cement concrete work in walls (any thickness), including attached pilasters, buttresses, plinth and string courses, fillets, columns, pillars, piers, abutments, posts and struts etc. above plinth level up to floor five level, excluding cost of centering, shuttering, finishing and reinforcement :

1:1.5:3 (1 cement : 1.5 coarse sand(zone-III) : 3 graded stone aggregate 20 mm nominal size)

Centering and shuttering including strutting, propping etc. and removal of form for :

Suspended floors, roofs, landings, balconies and access platform

Lintels, beams, plinth beams, girders, bressumers and cantilevers

Steel reinforcement for R.C.C. work including straightening, cutting, bending, placing in position and binding all complete including upto plinth level & above plinth level .

Thermo-Mechanically Treated bars of grade Fe-500D or more.

Shotcreting R.C.C. columns, beams and slabs etc. in layers with approved design mix concrete having the specified minimum characteristic compressive strength [with ordinary portland cement, coarse sand and graded stone aggregate of 10 mm maximum size in proportion as per design criteria] including the cost of centering and shuttering at edges and corners etc. as directed by Engineerin- Charge

Note: Rates shall include the providing necessary ground wires etc. The levelling gauges, if used, shall be paid for separately. Payment under this item shall be made only after proper wet curing has been done and surface has been satisfactorily evaluated by sounding/ tapping with a blunt metal instrument.

25mm thick in Grade M 25 with cement content not less than 330 kg per cum

Providing and inserting 12mm dia galvanised steel injection nipple in honey comb area and along crack line including drilling of holes of required diametre (20mm to 30mm) up to depth from 30mm to 80mm at required spacing and making the hole & crack dust free by blowing compressed air, sealing the distance between injection nipple with adhesive chemical of approved make and allow it to cure complete as per direction of Engineer-In-Charge.

Providing and injecting approved grout in proportion recommended by the manufacturer into cracks/honey-comb area of concrete/ masonry by suitable gun/pump at required pressure including cutting of nipples after curing etc. complete as per directions of Engineer-in- Charge.

Epoxy injection grout in concrete/RCC work of approved make

Providing and fixing hard drawn steel wire fabric of size 75 x25 mm mesh or other suitable size wire mesh to be fixed & firmly anchored to the concrete surface by means of "L" shaped mild steel shear key welded with existing reinforcement including the cost of materials, labour, tool & plants as approved by Engineer-in-charge

SUB HEAD - 03 (Flooring, Tiles, Granite, Kota stone & Brick works)

Cement concrete pavement with 1:2:4 (1 cement : 2 coarse sand : 4 graded stone aggregate 20 mm nominal size), including finishing complete.

Providing and laying matt finished vitrified tile of size 300x300x9.8mm having with water absorption less than 0.5% and conforming to IS: 15622 of approved make in all colours and shades in for outdoor floors such as footpath, court yard, multi modals location etc., laid on 20mm thick base of cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement : 4 coarse sand) in all shapes & patterns including grouting the joints with white cement mixed with matching pigments etc. complete as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge.

Providing and fixing Ist quality ceramic glazed wall tiles conforming to IS: 15622 (thickness to be specified by the manufacturer), of approved make, in all colours, shades except burgundy, bottle green, black of any size as approved by Engineerin- Charge, in skirting, risers of steps and dados, over 12 mm thick bed of cement mortar 1:3 (1 cement : 3 coarse sand) and jointing with grey cement slurry @ 3.3kg per sqm, including pointing in white cement mixed with pigment of matching shade complete.

Providing and laying Ceramic glazed floor tiles of size 300x300 mm (thickness to be specified by the manufacturer), of 1st quality conforming to IS : 15622, of approved make, in all colours, shades, except White, Ivory, Grey, Fume Red Brown, laid on 20 mm thick bed of cement mortar 1:4 (1 Cement : 4 Coarse sand), jointing with grey cement slurry @ 3.3 kg/ sq.m including pointing the joints with white cement and matching pigments etc., complete.

Providing and laying vitrified floor tiles in different sizes (thickness to be specified by the manufacturer) with water absorption less than 0.08% and conforming to IS: 15622, of approved make, in all colours and shades, laid on 20mm thick cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement : 4 coarse sand), jointing with grey cement slurry @ 3.3 kg/ sqm including grouting the joints with white cement and matching pigments etc., complete.

Providing and fixing 18 mm thick gang saw cut, mirror polished, premoulded and prepolished, machine cut for kitchen platforms, vanity counters, window sills, facias and similar locations of required size, approved shade, colour and texture laid over 20 mm thick base cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement : 4 coarse sand), joints treated with white cement, mixed with matching pigment, epoxy touch ups, including rubbing, curing, moulding and polishing to edges to give high gloss finish etc. complete at all levels.

Extra for providing opening of required size & shape for wash basin/ kitchen sink in kitchen platform, vanity counter and similar location in marble/ Granite/ stone work, including necessary holes for pillar taps etc. including moulding, rubbing and polishing of cut edges etc. complete.

Half brick masonry with common burnt clay F.P.S. (non modular) bricks of class designation 7.5 in foundations and plinth in :

Providing and laying water proofing treatment in sunken portion of WCs, bathroom etc., by applying cement slurry mixed with water proofing cement compound consisting of applying :

First layer of slurry of cement @ 0.488 kg/sqm mixed with water proofing cement compound @ 0.253 kg/ sqm. This layer will be allowed to air cure for 4 hours.

Second layer of slurry of cement @ 0.242 kg/sqm mixed with water proofing cement compound @ 0.126 kg/sqm. This layer will be allowed to air cure for 4 hours followed with water curing for 48 hours.

The rate includes preparation of surface, treatment and sealing of all joints, corners, junctions of pipes and masonry with polymer mixed slurry.

Providing and laying in position cement concrete of specified grade excluding the cost of centering and shuttering - All work up to plinth level :

1:4:8 (1 Cement : 4 coarse sand (zone-III) derived from natural sources : 8 graded stone aggregate 40 mm nominal size derived from natural sources)

Cement plaster 1:3 (1 cement: 3 coarse sand) finished with a floating coat of neat cement.

20 mm cement plaster

Extra for providing and mixing water proofing material in cement per bag of plaster work in proportion recommended by the manufacturers.

Providing and laying 60mm thick faciory made cement concrete interlocking paver block of M -30 grade made by block making machine with strong vibratory compaction, of approved size, design & shape, laid in required colour and pattern over and including 50mm thick compacted bed of coarse sand, filling the joints with line sand etc. all complete as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge.

SUB HEAD - 04 ( Aluminum, Steel & Wood work)

Providing and fixing pressed steel door frames conforming to IS: 4351, manufactured from commercial mild steel sheet of 1.60 mm thickness, including hinges, jamb, lock jamb, bead and if required angle threshold of mild steel angle of section 50x25 mm, or base ties of 1.60 mm, pressed mild steel welded or rigidly fixed together by mechanical means,including M.S. pressed butt hinges 2.5 mm thick with mortar guards, lock strike-plate and shock absorbers as specified and applying a coat of approved steel primer after pre-treatment of the surface as directed by Engineer-in-charge:

Triple strip vertical type

Designing, Supplying and installing of Factory made Laminated High density fibre board (Exterior grade laminated HDFB of Exterior grade) modular kitchen cabinet under the kitchen counter (max. 600mm deep), Each kitchen in a residential unit to be provided minimum seven nos. of stainless steel wire basket on sliding Telescopic rail, one no. grain trolley and shelves etc. along with other necessary fittings, accessories and hardware as instructed by the Engineer in Charge. Before mass fabrication of the cabinets, contractor will prepare, design/detail layout drawing of Kitchen for each type of residential unit as instructed by Engineer in Charge for approval and after approval of drawing, one no of kitchen in each type of residential unit to be fabricated to be finished in all respect as sample/mock up, for final approval.

Entire Kitchen Cabinetry like body panels, frame, shelves, partition, door shutters, front panel etc. are to fabricated out of 18 mm thick laminated HDF Board of Exterior grade. All ends of HDF Board to be finished in matching PVC edge bending tape and 5.5 mm thick mm one side laminated HDF Board of Exterior grade on back complete. . Necessary supports /stiffeners etc. to be provided in Cabinetry box, shelves, partition and door etc. for stability. Entire kitchen cabinetry inside outside including door shutters/front panels etc. to be laminated inisde as well as outside(outside decorative laminate and inside base laminate). For glass doors 4mm thick toughened glass in wooden frame to be used. All sliding channels in wire basket/drawers shall be of high precision double extension ball slides. Hinges must be of high quality, corrosion resistant, spring loaded with 105 degree opening and shall be fixed from inside. Wire baskets must be of top quality 304 grade stainless steel wires and must be further surface treated with nickel chromium plating. Galvanised steel shelves must be used in case of Hinged door unit, the load carrying capacity of the shelves not less than 60 kgs.

Handles must be of die cast handle made of zinc alloy / or SS 304 to ensure high corrosion resistance and aesthetic. Skirting must be made of Poly Vinyl Chloride(PVC) for lighter weight and being unaffected by water. Only Front visible area in elevation is to be measured for billing purpose.

Designing, supplying and installing of Factory made Laminated High density fibre board (Exterior grade laminated HDFB of Exterior grade) , 300 mm deep and 600 mm high overhead modular kitchen / toilet cabinet with glazed / solid shutter. Before mass fabrication of the cabinets, contractor will prepare, design/detail layout drawing of Kitchen for each type of residential unit as instructed by Engineer in Charge for approval and after approval of drawing, one no of kitchen in each type of residential unit to be fabricated to be finished in all respect as sample/mock up, for final approval.

Providing and fixing hand rail of approved size by welding etc. to steel ladder railing, balcony railing, staircase railing and similar works, including applying priming coat of approved steel primer.

M.S. tube

Supplying and fixing of precoated Zincalume/Galvalume sheet roofing of 0.5mm TCT -AZ-150, 550 mpa (Alumunium Zinc Alloy couting of 150 gms, per sqm total on both sides) as per AS: 1397 in cover width of 1000-1020 mm, (size, shape and pitch of corrugation as approved by Engineer-in-charge).The end rib shall be designed for anti-capillary action, to avoid any seepage of water through the lateral overlap.The feed material is manufactured out of nominal 0.45 mm Base Metal Thickness (BMT), Hi-strength steel with min. 550 MPa yield strength.The raw material shall be of Tata BlueScope , Jindal. The steel sheet shall be fastened with 25 μm zinc-tin alloy coated, Hex head, self-drilling screw as per AS 3566-2002 Class 3 fasteners of approved make with EPDM washer as per the requirement considering the profile shape and design load.

Sheet should have protective guard film of 25 microns minimum to avoid scratches while transportaion and should be suppplied in single length upto 12meter or as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

SUB HEAD - 05 (Periodical Service / Painting )

Removing white or colour wash by scrapping and sand papering and preparing the surface smooth including necessary repairs to scratches etc. including scaffolding all complete.

Providing and applying white cement based putty of average thickness 1 mm, of approved brand and manufacturer,over the plastered wall surface to prepare the surface even , smooth and including scaffolding all complete. .

Distempering with 1st quality acrylic distemper (ready mixed) having VOC content less than 50 gms/litre, of approved manufacturer, of required shade ,colour and including scaffolding all complete , as per manufacturer’s specification.

Two or more coats on new work

Finishing walls with Acrylic Smooth exterior paint of required shade including scaffolding all complete :

New work (Two or more coat applied @ 1.67 ltr/10 sqm over and including priming coat of exterior primer applied @ 2.20 kg/10 sqm)

Distempering with 1st quality acrylic distemper (ready mixed) having VOC content less than 50 gms/litre, of approved manufacturer, of required shade,colour and including scaffolding all complete as per manufacturer’s specification.

One or more coats on old work

Finishing walls with Acrylic Smooth exterior paint of required shade including scaffolding all complete :

Old work (one or more coats applied @ 0.83 ltr/10 sqm).

Painting with synthetic enamel paint of approved brand and manufacture to give an even shade including scaffolding all complete :

Two or more coats on new work

Mirror polishing on marble work/Granite work/stone work where ever required to give high gloss finish complete.

SUB HEAD - 06 ( Sanitary and Plumbing work)

Providing and fixing white vitreous china pedestal type water closet (European type) with seat and lid, including 10 litre low level white vitreous china cistern with dual flush fitting,including seal cover and cistern fittings, nuts,bolts and gasket etc. complete with all fittings including painting of fittings and brackets, cutting and making good the walls and floors wherever required.

Providing and fixing water closet squatting pan ( Indian type W.C. pan ) with 100mm sand cast Iron P or S trap, 10 litre low level white P.V.C. flushing cistern with manually controlled device (handle lever) conforming to IS : 7231, with all fittings and fixtures complete including cutting and making good the walls and floors wherever required.
