| 3.00EXCAVATION: Excavation in all type of soils & loose/soft rock (Rocks of Weathering Grade IV, V & VI of IS 11315 Part 5) including top soil, hard murrum or other hard soil mixed clay, soft disintegrated rock not requiring blasting in general area grading, roads and drainage work, all main plant buildings and other structures, foundations, tunnels and trenches etc. including shoring and strutting as required, stacking the useful/ serviceable materials & disposal of the excavated muck in proper stacks as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge for all lifts and up to a lead of 1500 m for the depths as specified in item 3.01 and 3.02 below the existing ground level. Note: 1. The quoted rate shall include the cost of draining and pumping out surface water (i.e. water other than water below ground water table), lowering of ground water table to maintain dry working conditions till completion of all activities (such as concreting, curing, water proofing, filling / testing etc.), which require dry working conditions providing sheeting, shoring, strutting, bracing, trimming of excavated bottom, testing and formation of bunds, channels, and drainage arrangements to prevent ingress of surrounding water into the excavation or pits. The rate shall be inclusive of all labour, materials, equipment, handling, transportation, preparation and approval of the dewatering and excavation scheme, and execution of the same for all types of works, at all levels and lifts, complete as per drawings, specifications, and instructions of the Engineer. 2. It shall also include the preparation of detailed excavation scheme (detailing about proposed excavation, de-watering, carriage, disposal, and stacking of the earthwork), planning and scheduling each stage part-wise and to be approved by EIC and thus commencing the work only after approval. 3. It shall also include the cost of formation, maintenance, and subsequent removal of all temporary approach roads, ramps, haul paths, and working platforms required forearthwork and associated activities, including grading, compaction, drainage arrangements, periodic repairs during operation, and final reinstatement to the original or approved finished condition, all as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. 4. It shall also include all the costs for safe handling, stacking/disposal, and stabilization of excavated material, trenches, and pits with necessary compaction, grading, dressing, etc. Any additional protection or slope improvement measures (e.g., geomembrane, turfing, pitching, shotcreting, etc) shall be paid separately under Item No. 3.04. 5. The average E.G.L (Existing Ground Level) of the site varies from R.L. 296 m to R.L 306 m wrt to Unit 3& 4 6. | 3.03 | Slope Stability Analysis:
Conducting slope stability and safety analysis by expert agency such as NIRM/GSI/IITs for the excavated trenches or proposed excavated trenches, stacked serviceable and unserviceable materials or proposed stacking of serviceable & unserviceable materials, surrounding soil, adjacent structures, pits, services and the work areas. The detailed study along with report should recommend the scientific arrangement of slope protection with detailed design calculations/drawing/scheme and technique to be adopted including provision of planning for geotextiles, shoring, cofferdam, or any other techniques desirable for safety and stability of the above applicable area throughout the contract. The same shall be approved by Engineer-in-Charge.

1. The study shall be comprehensive and is to be presented in part or in full as applicable to each proposed or excavated or stacked area.
