Cleaning of roof sheets & their valleys gutters, minor works for leak-proofing, etc. on roofs of industrial goods storage sheds of height more than 2-storey building. The job includes: (A) Cleaning dead vegetation (such as leaves) and other garbage from roof sheets, their valleys gutters, funnels, mouths of rain-water pipes, etc; (B) Cleaning chokages in rain-water pipes; (C) Leak-proofing joints/ overlaps of sheets & their valley gutters & holes in them, by applying joint sealants, coatings, welding, replacement of washers, etc. as per requirement; (D) Fixing M.S. funnels on mouths of rain-water pipes by cutting holes in G.I. valley gutters & fixing M.S. funnels in them, ensuring that both these joints/ overlaps should be leak-proof; (E) Trimming branches of trees near/ over these buildings; and (F) Other allied jobs. Note: (i) All the above jobs are to be carried out by the contractor as per instructions of the department (Engineer-in-charge or his representative(s) as well as the Depot Officer or his representative(s)); (ii) The contractor is required to deploy 3 skilled workers daily for this job in first shift. The contractor has to deploy such workers which are trained, experienced, and suitable for the job. Providing leaves to the workers is the responsibility of the contractor and the contractor is also required to deploy suitable substitute(s) in case the worker(s) is/are on leave/ absent. In measurement, number of days shall be calculated as total number of manshifts (actual attendance) divided by 3. (iii) Daily attendance shall be maintained at the designated place. Each worker is required to carry an ID card of some government authority (aadhaar card, voter's card, driver's licence, PAN card, etc.). (iv) The contractor's workers shall be equipped with all the safety gear/ accessories required for the job including safety harnesses, helmets, safety shoes, gloves (washable & re-usable), welding screen, face masks (if required) (washable & re-usable), etc. They shall also be equipped with all the tools & equipment required for the jobs in this item, such as tools for cleaning dead vegetation, tools for cleaning chokages, tools for leak-proofing joints & overlaps (including portable welding machine & electric cable), tools for cutting valley gutters & fixing M.S. funnels, axe (for trimming branches), etc. All these personal safety accessories and tools are to be provided by the contractor to the workers, and there shall be no separate measurement/ payment for them. (v) Other materials/ consumables, such as joint sealants, coatings, welding rods, etc. required for these jobs & M.S. funnels shall be supplied by the contractor (details, quantities, & costs covered separately in item no. 2). Water & electricity shall be made available by WCL without any cost to be charged from the contractor.
Supplying the following materials of quality & brand as approved by the department, and putting them at designated places as per instructions of the department. Full quantities of each item to be supplied at the beginning of the work.
Sealant such as M-seal, Polyseal or equivalent for leak-proofing joints/ overlaps & holes in roofing sheets, valley gutters, fasteners, etc.
Polydee LM or equivalent flexible polyurethane coating to repair G.I. valley gutters etc.
Glass fiber/ polyster matt for flexible polyurethane coating to repair G.I. valley gutters etc.
Suitable welding rods (ISI marked) for welding works required in item no. 1.
M.S. funnels of approved design, of 80 mm nominal dia, 4 mm wall thickness, and 0.5 metre length.
Clearing chokages in underground drains & their chambers in industrial goods storage sheds (of height more than 2-storey building) by removing covers from the chambers, cleaning the chokages using flexible rods & removing unwanted objects, refixing the covers, and putting the unwanted objects at designated places (as instructed) for disposal. Note: (i) The jobs in this item are to be carried out by the contractor as per instructions of the department (Engineer-in-charge or his representative(s) as well as the Depot Officer or his representative(s)); (ii) The contractor is required to deploy 2 cleaning workers per day, as & when required, for this job in first shift. The contractor has to deploy such workers which are trained, experienced, and suitable for the job. In measurement, number of days shall be calculated as total number of manshifts (actual attendance) divided by 2. (iii) Daily attendance shall be maintained at the designated place. Renewing glass panes, with putty and nails wherever necessary including racking out the old putty: Transparent wired glass panes of nominal thickness 6 mm, with specifications as per IS 5437:1994 (with up-to-date amendments). Note: (i) The contractor's workers shall be equipped with all the safety gear/ accessories required for the job including safety harnesses, helmets, safety shoes, gloves (washable & re-usable), face masks (if required) (washable & re-usable), etc. They shall also be equipped with all the tools & equipment required for the work in this item. All these personal safety accessories and tools are to be provided by the contractor to the workers, and there shall be no separate measurement/ payment for them. (ii) Water shall be made available by WCL without any cost to be charged from the contractor.
Repair/ maintenance of jammed/ damaged rolling shutters (operated by electric motors) by taking them out, diagnosing & rectifying the problem including repairing/ replacing chain/ motor/ gears/ bearings/ nut-bolts etc. (as per requirement), oiling, greasing, and re-fixing them, while ensuring that they start functioning/ moving smoothly again. Note: (i) The job in this item is to be carried out by the contractor as & when required, as per instructions of the department (Engineer-in-charge or his representative(s) as well as the Depot Officer or his representative(s)); (ii) Measurement shall be made as per the number of shutters for which the contractor was instructed to do this job and after this job, they start functioning/ moving smoothly. (iii) The contractor's workers shall be equipped with all the safety gear/ accessories required for the job including helmets, safety shoes, gloves (washable & re-usable), face masks (if required) (washable & re-usable), etc. They shall also be equipped with all the tools & equipment required for the job in this item. All these personal safety accessories and tools are to be provided by the contractor to the workers, and there shall be no separate measurement/ payment for them. (iv) Water shall be made available by WCL without any cost to be charged from the contractor.
