Strengthening and retrofitting to Chatham Bridge at Sri Vijaya Puram.

ACCESS PLATFORM / WORKING PLATFORM: Providing, fabricating, erecting, and maintaining temporary access/working platform above water level using approved steel or wooden supports for carrying out surface preparation, drilling, shuttering, and associated repair works. Including cost of all materials, labour, T&P, staging, scaffolding, pontoons, boats, barges, hire and running charges of machineries, safety arrangements, supervision, and all incidental charges, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

TEMPORARY BOTTOM SUPPORT BELOW SLAB (FOR RETROFITTING) :Providing, fabricating, erecting, maintaining, and dismantling temporary bottom support below slab for retrofitting, consisting of 2 Nos. ISMB 250 per 4.00 m span with 3 Nos. vertical steel supports, complete with base plates, bolts, welding, bracing, and alignment. Includes all materials, fabrication, erection, lifting arrangements, labour, equipment hire, dismantling, and removal after completion, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

CUTTING & REMOVING OF EXISTING CANTILEVER RCC Handrail: Dismantling and demolition of existing RCC walkway/slab using chain saw or non-vibratory chipping system, including removal of debris, stacking of serviceable materials, and disposal of unserviceable waste to approved dumping area. Including cost of labour, tools, machinery, boats, barges, loading, unloading, transportation, and all incidental charges, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Carefully chip and remove cover concrete up to the rear face of reinforcement using electric chippers and hand tools, followed by thorough cleaning of exposed surfaces and rebars with high-pressure water jet to remove loose particles, rust, and marine growth.Including cost of all materials, labour, T&P, compressor, pneumatic tools, water jet equipment, barge/boat access, and all incidental charges, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

CORE DRILLING: Core drilling of 77 mm dia holes through RCC deck slab to the required depth for facilitating micro-concrete pouring, using an electrically operated core drilling machine with proper alignment and marking. The drilled holes shall be cleaned and refilled with non-shrink micro-concrete after grouting to restore integrity. Including cost of all labour, T&P, core drilling machine, drill bits, accessories, and all incidental charges, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

ANCHORING OF MAIN / SECONDARY REINFORCEMENT: Anchoring reinforcement bars of specified diameters using Lokfix / Hilti RE10 / RE100 resin grout, including drilling holes at required positions with low-vibration rotary hammer, cleaning with air/water, filling resin to two-thirds depth, and inserting bars to specified embedment. Including cost of all materials, labour, T&P, drilling machine hire, consumables, and all incidental charges, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

ANCHORING OF SHEAR CONNECTORS: Anchoring 10 mm dia shear connectors at specified locations by drilling holes with 10 mm pilot and 16–18 mm final drill bits using low-vibration hammer drill, cleaning thoroughly with air/water, and fixing using Lokfix / Hilti RE10 / RE100 resin grout filled up to two-thirds depth. Including cost of all materials, labour, T&P, drilling equipment hire, consumables, and all incidental charges, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

FIXING OF GROUTING NIPPLES: Supplying and fixing non-return type grouting nipples at 300 mm c/c spacing using polyester resin anchoring grout along identified cracks between pile–pile cap and pile cap–deck beam junctions, including surface preparation, positioning, and secure fixing to withstand grouting pressure. Rate includes cost of all materials, resin grout, labour, T&P, hire charges of compressor, pneumatic tools, diving equipment, and all incidental expenses, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

LOW VISCOUS EPOXY GROUTING: Providing and injecting low-viscosity epoxy grout into cracks of concrete members after surface preparation and sealing using suitable epoxy sealing compound for bonding of nipples, spaced 200–500 mm c/c based on crack width and depth.Epoxy components shall be mixed mechanically and injected through a grout pump under controlled pressure to ensure full penetration.Rate includes cost of all materials, grout pump, mixing tools, labour, safety gear, supervision, and all incidental charges, complete as per specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.

STRENGTHENING OF CORE CONCRETE FOR PILES / DECK BEAM / DECK SLAB BY GROUTING WITH MICROFINE CEMENT: Providing and injecting microfine cement grout (particle size 6–12 microns) into piles, deck beams, and deck slabs using a water–cement ratio of 1.2, modified with expanding additive @ 225 g per 25 kg MFC and SBR polymer @ 3 L per 25 kg MFC. The mix shall be mechanically prepared and injected under controlled pressure through pre-fixed nipples using an electrically operated grout pump. Rate includes cost of all materials, additives, polymers, equipment hire, labour, scaffolding/working platform, and all incidental charges, complete as per specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.

ADDITIONAL REINFORCEMENT: Supplying, cutting, bending, and placing in position MS/RTS reinforcement bars of approved grade and diameter as per approved drawings and IS 1786, including tying with 16-gauge binding wire, providing necessary supports, chairs, and spacers to maintain proper alignment and cover. Rate includes cost of steel, wastage, fabrication, labour, tools and plants, welding (if required), transportation, loading, unloading, and all incidental charges, complete as per specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.

PROVISION OF SACRIFICIAL ANODE (GALVASHIELD XPI OR EQUIVALENT) : Providing and fixing sacrificial anode type corrosion protection system such as GALVASHIELD XPI or equivalent(2 Nos per structural member), over the main and bracket reinforcements, in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and approved drawings. The work shall include preparation of reinforcement surface, ensuring electrical continuity, fixing of anodes using conductive connectors, testing of installed system, and submission of relevant documentation. The rate shall include the cost of all materials, consumables, labour, tools, scaffolding/working platform, equipment, and all incidental charges, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

PROVISION OF ANTICORROSIVE TREATMENT TO OLD AND NEW REINFORCEMENT: Providing and applying two coats of zinc-rich epoxy primer (such as NITOZINC Primer or approved equivalent) on old and new reinforcement after thorough surface preparation, including removal of rust, scale, and other impurities by mechanical wire brushing or sand blasting, as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. The primer shall be epoxy-based, two-component, zinc-rich, conforming to relevant standards, and applied to achieve a minimum total DFT of 80 microns (40 microns per coat) to ensure galvanic protection and uniform coverage. The rate includes cost of all materials, consumables, tools and tackles, equipment, labour, scaffolding/working platform, surface preparation, and all incidental charges, complete as per specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.Note: Consider Anti corrosive Treatment for Existing Reinforcements as 50% of Proposed additional reinforcement quantity.

PROVISION OF EPOXY BONDING AGENT: Providing and applying epoxy bonding agent such as NITOBOND EP or approved equivalent over the prepared concrete surface prior to placing micro concrete or fresh concrete to ensure monolithic bonding between old and new concrete surfaces. The work includes surface preparation by mechanical cleaning to remove laitance, grease, and loose particles, mixing of base and hardener components using a slow-speed heavy-duty drill (400–600 RPM) for uniform consistency, and uniform brush or roller application immediately before concreting. The rate includes cost of all materials, consumables, tools and plants, mixing and application equipment, hire charges of machinery, labour, scaffolding, safety appliances, and all incidental charges, complete as per specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.

FORM WORK: Description: Providing and fixing slurry-tight formwork of required shape and profile using steel sheets or marine-grade plywood, suitably stiffened with angles or channels to withstand grout pressure. Includes surface coating with mould release agent, proper alignment, bracing, staging, provision for grout ports, sealing of joints, and removal after curing. Rate includes all materials, hire charges of barge/pontoon, scaffolding, labour including divers, tools, and incidental charges, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

SELF COMPACTING CONCRETE OF M40 GRADE (THICKNESS 100–125 MM): Providing and placing self-compacting micro-concrete of M40 grade using RENDROC RG (or approved equivalent) mixed with 12 mm down-graded chips (1:0.5–0.75 by weight) and water as per manufacturer’s recommendation. Mixing to be done mechanically and poured continuously through PVC tremie pipes to ensure dense, non-segregated flow. Includes supply of all materials, mixing, placing, curing, hire charges of barges, pontoons, boats, mix

ers, compressors, diving equipment, labour including divers, and all incidental and safety arrangements, complete as per specification and direction of Engineer-in-Charge.

MEMBRANE CURING AGENT:Providing and applying membrane-forming curing compound (NITOBOND AR or approved equivalent) diluted with water in 1:1 ratio over exposed concrete surfaces immediately after removal of formwork or completion of repair works, using low-pressure spray equipment to form a continuous film ensuring proper curing. Includes cost of materials, labour, tools, spraying equipment, scaffolding, and all incidental charges, complete as per specification and direction of Engineer-in-Charge.

PROTECTIVE COATING USING MCU SYSTEM: Providing and applying protective coating to exposed RCC and steel members such as short columns, diagonal bracings, deck beams, deck slabs, and caisson walls (inter-tidal zone) using MCU coating system comprising two coats of MCU-Miomastic (moisture-cured polyurea primer/intermediate coat) and one coat of MCU-Topcoat, applied as per manufacturer’s specification and during low-tide conditions. Includes surface preparation, materials, consumables, scaffolding, hire charges for boats and machineries, labour, and all incidental expenses, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Providing and fixing stainless steel ( Grade 304) railing made of Hollow tubes, channels, plates etc., including welding, grinding, bufing, polishing and making curvature (wherever required) and fitting the same with necessary stainless steel nuts and bolts complete, i/c fixing the railing with necessary accessories & stainless steel dash fasteners , stainless steel bolts etc., of required size, on the top of the floor or the side of waist slab with suitable arrangement as per approval of Engineer-in-charge, (for payment purpose only weight of stainless steel members shall be considered excluding fixing accessories such as nuts, bolts, fasteners etc.).

PROTECTIVE COATING ON STRENGTHENING WORKS FOR THE CANTILEVER PORTION OF THE BRIDGE BY MCU SYSTEM: Providing and applying protective coating on the RCC cantilever slab using MCU coating system, consisting of one coat of MCU-Miozink 100 microns, two coats of MCU-Miomastic 75 microns (moisture-cured polyurea primer/intermediate coats), and one coat of MCU-Topcoat 75 microns, applied strictly as per the manufacturer’s specifications and during low-tide working conditions; including surface preparation, cleaning, materials, consumables, scaffolding, staging, hire charges for boats and machinery, labour, tools and plants, and all incidental charges, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
