SOIL INVESTIGATION IN R/O PROVISION OF RCC OH WATER TANK ALONGWITH IMPROVEMENT OF EXTERNAL WATER SUPPLY AT AF STN DINJAN UNDER GE (AF) MOHANBARI

Boring of size 150mm dia through sand/clay/silt strata from ground level upto minimum depth of 15 mtrs fir 04 Nos of BH and upto 10 mtrs depth for 01 Nos BH and carrying out following tests: (a) Standard penetration test in bore holes as IS2131-1985. (b) Collecting disturbed sample at every 1.0 mtr or change of strata including packing adn handling all complete. (c) Collecting undistrubed samples at every 1.5 mtr or change of strata including packing and handling all complete as per IS2132-1985. (d) Carrying out laboratory test for:- (i) Grain Size. (ii) Liquid and plastic limit and swelling index. (iii) Natural moisture content. (iv) Specific gravity. (v) Bilk and Dry density. (vi) Shear characteristic from un disturbed sample using direct shear/tri axial shear test. (vii) unconfined compression test. (ix) Free swell index. (x) Atterberg limits test. (e) The report to include clearly the following parameters:- (i) Safe bearing capacity of soil. (ii) Whether effect of high water table been considered or not in working out SBC . Recommendation for SBC based and shear and settlement criteria including recommendation for improvement of SBC if any. (iii) Type of Soil. (iv) Suggested size and depth for single/Double storied bldg (v) Sulphate content of soil.
