M&L for Checking of Earth Resistance of Chemical / conventional Earthing to maintaining the Register here-in-after.approximate 800 Nos location all as directed by engineer incharge NOTE :- (a) Contractor will Check Earth Resistance Every Day( Minimum 29 Nos per day) and will be recorded in Register, and signature by user same will be put up to the Engineer-in-Charge on the every Next Day and will be submitted while claiming payment failing which a Sum of Rs. 20.00 per Day will be recovered from the Contractor. (b) Earth Resistance Tester will be provided by the Contractor. (Tester should be caliberated from Authorised Company). (c) Contractor will be responsible for pouring of water in the Earth Pits at his own arrangement with Water Tanker, etc.However, Water will not be provided by the Department. (d) Checking of Earth Pits existing and improve it by watering/adding a layer of Salt/ Magnesium Sulphate/Charcoal, etc till desired value. (e) Contractor will be responsible for marking of Earth Check date and due date on existing Plate with paint as specified by Engineer-in-Charge. (f) One Party (consisting 1 No. Electrician with 1 No. Helper) will be reported every Morning and Evening to JE E/M for Daily attendance(on working days or on call. (g) Recovery for Penalty will be made as follows :- (i) Earthing left without Checked in a Month - Rs. 50.00/Earthing (ii) Earthing left without Watering in a Month - Rs. 100.00/Earthing (iii) Absent of Electrician (for One day) - Rs. 1000.00/Day (vi) Absent of Helper/Mazdoor (for one day) - Rs. 800.00/Day

M & L in replacement of Earthing complete with copper earth electrode 60×60cm ×3.00mm burried directly in ground vertically to depth not less than 2.25 m below normal ground level with top edge of the earth plate at a depth not less than 1.5 m below ground level connected to and including copper strip of size 20x3 mm by means of nut, bolt, check nut and washer etc made of copper alloy and connection to test point and earth dolly all as shown in electrical plate No. 3 SSR Part I 2009 and specified or indicated including excavation and earth work in any type of soil, (in any type of strata ) PCC (1:3:6) type C-1 in chamber, precast 50 mm thick in cement concrete (1:2:4) type B-1 with CI frame, funnel, GI Pipe 20 mm bore medium grade for watering and 40 mm bore GI Pipe light grade for protection complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-charge. Note:-(i) Copper strip 20 x 3 mm and GI pipe upto 7.5 mtr length shall be deemed to include in this item rate. (ii) On testing after completion if the desired earth resistance is not obtained the earthing will be redone at no extra cost by the contractor.

S&F in replacement of Copper Strip 20x3.mm with SMC insulators with CC not more than 50cm and fixing Screws for Roof/ Earth Conductors and Down Conductors above Ground including taking down unserviceable Strip, complete all as specified and as directed. NOTE : All Joints should be joined by Brazing and nuts and bolts and washers.

M&L in replacement of earthing complete as per electrical plate No. 3 of MES SSR Part-I with galvanised steel earth plate electrode 60cmx60cmx6mm thick, buried directly vertically in ground in a pit depth not less than 2.25 metres below ground level with top edge of earth plate at a depth not less then 1.5 metre below normal ground level connected to and including galvanised iron earth strip 32 mm x 6 mm by means of bolts, nuts check nuts and washers of galvanised iron or steel. Earthing strip shall be protected by galvanised iron or steel pipe 40mm bore light grade and connected pole / test point. Watering pipe shall be 20 mm bore GI medium grade. The earthing shall be of inclusive of excavation & earth work in any type of soil, (in any type of strata ) charcoal, salt, funnel PCC pit and RCC cover complete all as specified, directed and tested upto entire satisfaction of Engr-in-charge.Note:-(i) GI strip 32 x 6 mm with GI pipe upto 7.5 mtr length shall be deemed to include in this items rate.(ii) On testing after completion if the desired earth resistance is not obtained the earthing will be redone at no extra cost by the contractor.

S&F in replacement of Galvanised Iron Strip 32x6mm with SMC insulators with CC not more than 50cm and fixing Screws for Roof/Earth Conductors and Down Conductors above Ground including taking down unserviceable Strip, complete all as specified and as directed. NOTE : All Joints should be joined by Brazing and nuts and bolts& washers.

S&F in replacement of Galvanised Iron Tubing/Pipe 40mm bore (dia), light grade for Strip Protection, fixed in Walls/Floors with suitable type of Clamps, etc. including taking down unserviceable GI Tubing/Pipe, complete all as specified and as directed.

S&F replacement of Aluminium Strip 25 x3 mm with SMC insulators with CC not more than 50cm on PCC 1:2:4 block of size 150x150x150mm and fixing Screws/fasteners for Roof/ Earth Conductors and Down Conductors above Ground all Joints should be connected by Exothermic Welding or Brazing and nut,bolt and washersincluding taking down unserviceable Strip, complete all as specified and as directed. NOTE : All Joints should be joined by Brazing and nuts and bolts & washers

S&F in replacement of Test Point Terminal Block made of Gun Metal or Phosphorus Bronze size 75x75x25mm, drilled and screwed including 3 No. 8mm dia, 25mm long hexagonal Head Screw including taking down/out unserviceable Test Point Terminal Block, complete all as per specified and as directed.

S&F in replacement of Air Termination Single Pointed Aluminium Rod 12 mm dia and up to 300 mm long fixed on 40mm dia GI pipe light grade including provision of Cement Concrete 1:2:4 (20mm graded stone aggregate) Block 300x300x300mm (and necessary Fixing Arrangement at Roof complete all as specified and as directed.

M & L in replacement of Earthing complete with 60cmx 60cmx3mm thick GI plate electrode buried in ground vertically not less than 2.25mtrs deep below ground level with top edge of the plate not less than 1.5mtrs below ground level with GI wire of size 4 mm dia as earthing lead including necessary excavation and earth work (in any of strata) providing charcoal dust, salt mixed in continuous layer 15 CM all around the plate and balance pit will be filled with soil, PCC (1:3:6 ) type C1 in chamber ,Precast 50 mm thick in cement ( 1:2:4) type B.1 with CI frame with cover, 20mm dia bore light grade GI watering pipe funnel etc fixing of GI Pipe 15 mm bore protection for earthing wire from earth pit to test point complete & making connection all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note:-(i) GI wire 4 mm dia upto 7.5 mtr length shall be deemed to include in this items rate. (ii) On testing after completion if the desired earth resistance is not obtained the earthing will be redone at no extra cost by the contactor.

M&L in replacement of Earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead fixed to wall on batten or recess or chases or buried in ground or drawn in conduit/pipe or fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc. as required 4mm dia galvanised iron or steel wire complete all as specified and directed.

Taking out and re-fixing old loose / displaced aluminium /GI/Copper strip with new SMC Insulators screws etc on PCC 1:2:4 block of size 150x150x150mm for roof conductor /down conductor without PCC blocks upto test point above ground level complete all as directed .NOTE : All Joints should be joined by Brazing and nuts and bolts & washers. Cost of saddles and PCC block is deemed to be included in rate quoted by the contractor.

S&F in replacement of Earthing funnel of 20 mm dia with wire -mesh all as specified as directed

S&F in replacement of earthing pit identifier / marker for lightening arrester made of MS plate 6 mm thick oval size having major axis 30 cm & minor axis 20 cm mounted on 25 mm dia GI pipe medium grade project 60 cm above the ground and embeded suitably in concrete PCC 1:2:4 type B2 of size 20 cm x 20 cm x30 cm. The oval shape identifier & earthing pit cover shall be painted with two coat of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of primer and writing letter e.g. LA 1/10 on the plate and earth pit cover all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Ditto all as per item No. 14 above but the plate of shape having combition of rectangle & circle segment as directed for signal earth and writing letters e.g. SG 1/10 on the plate and earth pit cover all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge

Ditto as per item No.14 above but having tringular plate of base 30 cm & vertical height of 20 cm for equipment earthing pit and writing letters e.g. EQ 1/10 etc all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge

Ditto all as per item No. 14 above but having rectangular plate of length 30 cm & width 20 cm for power supply earth and writing letters e.g. PS 1/10 etc all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge. (Note for item No. 14 to 17 : The cover plate of earth pit and MS plate is to be painted with colour code of the type of earthing pit for Chemical earthing pit RED colour and for conventional earthing pit YELLOW colur and writing letters on plate and cover of pit in BLACK colour. The detail guidelines has been incorporated in the particular specification. Contractor to quote their rate accordingly

M&L for Checking of any breaking in the Link of Earth Strip/Wire of Galvanised/ Copper/Aluminium any size and jointing them by Brazing and nuts and bolts , complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L in repairing of Damaged Earth Pit/Chamber in Cement Concrete 1:3:6 type C-I 20 mm grade stone aggrigate as shown in Electrical Plate No 3 of MES Schedule Part-I including providing Pre-cast PCC cover of size 350x350x50mm in PCC 1:2:4, including Funnel with wiremesh and cleaning the surrounding of Earth Pit Cover and pouring Salt Water to improve the resistace and measuring and recording the same in presence of user / Engineer-in-Charge complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L repairs Pre-cast cement Cover in Cement Concrete 1:2:4 type B1 of size 350x350x50mm with handle made of 8mm dia RTS bar, including thrownout damaged / detrioted PCC outside cantt area, complete all as specified and as directed.
