REPAIRS TO JOINT FILLING, EPOXY AND OTHER CONNECTED WORKS AT MAIN RUNWAY, ORP, DISPERSAL AND LINK, MAIN TAXI TRACK, PTT, LOOPS AND CERTAIN OTHER AIRCRAFT MOVEMENT AREA AT AF STN KALAIKUNDA UNDER GE (AF) KALAIKUNDA

M & L for racking out of old existing joint sealant compound (Any type and any sealant compound) and back up rod of the existing joints by special tools like cutting blades/machines, widening of joints by 2 mm by using joint cutting blades of appropriate size, straight and smooth edges, joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air, joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil, vegetation and other debris. Application of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before pacing the backup rod and pouring the sealant, thereafter filled with closed cell, medium density, cross linked polyethylene foam backup rod of suitable size for complete length of the joint for the joint width 6 to 10 mm, over it to be finally filled with polyurethane joint sealant meeting the requirements mentioned in BS-5212, BS-4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor MAF of +/- 30% complete all as specified and directed. Note: - (i) Minimum depth of sealant will be as per respective manufacturers instruction. Sealant and primer will be of same make. (ii) Masking tape will be used to avoid accidental seepage/spreading of sealant. (iii) Bidders attention is invited to the depth of pavement joint required to be cut,in case of extra cutting biderrs needs to make good with suitable filler as directed by Engr-In-Charge/Manufacturer at his own cost. (iv) Filling of joints to be done 2 to3 mm recessed during summer and in winter it should be filled up to top up. (v) Fly wheel,spatula,triangular pallet Knife etc. to be used to maintain the recess and to give aesthetics.

Repair to broken spalled edges of joints pot holes etc of existing concrete slab by forming square/rectangular grooves with diamond/Machine cutter wider towards bottom to from key with the existing quality concrete cleaning / dusting the grooves using compressed air to remove all dust and dirt by air blower and repairing with Epoxy mortar after applying epoxy primer and applying one coat of Epoxy resin (Base & hardner, Ratio 2:1) over epoxy mortor, finished complete all as manufacturer's instructions and as directed .

M & L for self-adhesive, cold applied , polymer modified, High Track Bituminous instant runway crack sealing tape of approved make of size 100 mm width and 2 mm thick having quick release film to form high strength water proofing layer as specified in IS-15462:2004 on one side for crack surfaces of Runway (Flexible & Rigid portion) with and including preparation of surface by electric brushes, air blower to clean the crack (joint) or by other mechanical means or Machine as directed by manufacturer's instruction and paste the sure bond tape on crack surfaces and rolling with hand held wooden/Rubber roller with force complete all as specified and as directed by the manufacturer.
