Confocal Raman Spectrometer:
· Confocal Raman spectrometer with the capabilities of recording Raman spectra and Photoluminescence spectra. The Spectrometer should be inclusive of research grade microscope/spectrometer with objectives, detectors, Lasers, optics and along with computers & software with the following detailed specifications.
· High throughput Lens Based spectrometer with a focal length minimum of 600mm or higher.
· Overall throughput of the lens-based spectrometer should be more than 65%
· Output coupler for microscopes with exit port for spectrometer connection including optical fiber.
· Core diameter of the Optical fiber should act as confocal detection unit for the coupling of the collected Raman, fluorescence, or reflection signal
· A Multiwavelength laser coupler should be able to adapt up to three excitation sources. It should allow comfortable switching between the excitation wavelengths including automatic alignment of all necessary optical components without any manual intervention in the optical beam path.
· It should include Housing and mechanical parts.
· Filter positions unloaded to add any desired filters set.
· Scan to Scan repeatability should be 0.04 cm-1 or better
· Spectral resolution: 0.5 cm-1
· Motorized software controlled six grating turret with minimum of Three gratings mounted and interchangeable.
· The spectrograph should allow spectral coverage from 80 cm-1 to 4000 cm-1 in one single continuous acquisition without any step and stitches maintaining 1cm-1 spectral resolution or better
· System should have a coupler set to be compatible to accommodate 3 wavelength excitations or more
· All the lasers should be air cooled for maximal confocal performance and should be highly efficient single mode Photonic Fibers which are coupled to the microscope/spectrometer.
· All excitation sources are connected to the microscope via FC/APC single-mode optical fibers to guarantee diffraction limited point-illumination for highest possible confocal resolution.
· The filter set for each wavelength including laser line filter and edge filter, should be provided.
· Laser power intensity should be continuously variable by an attenuator controlled from 0 to 100% maximum with a minimum step size of 0.1%.
· Air-cooled, Solid-state Diode Laser @ 532nm with 70mW power or more should include optical isolator and fiber coupling unit directly connected to microscope/spectrometer system. Required ultra-low cut off filter set allowing Stokes-and Anti-Stokes Raman measurements starting at approx. 10 rel. cm-1
· Air-cooled, Solid-state Diode Laser @ 633nm with 30mW power or more, should include optical isolator and fiber coupling unit directly connected to Microscope/spectrometer system. Required cut off filter set Raman measurements starting at approx. 80 rel. cm-1
· Air-cooled, Diode Laser @ 785nm with 120mW power or more, should include optical isolator and fiber coupling unit directly connected to microscope/spectrometer system. Required cut off filter set Raman measurements starting at approx. 65 rel. cm-1
· A suitable Optical power meter head to be provided with a console readout unit through USB Interface and software.
· A multichannel high-performance CCD with the following specifications to be quoted.
· Back-Illuminated CCD chip with 2000 x 256-pixel format or better
· Peltier cooled to -55°C or better.
· Pixel Size: 15 µm x 15 µm or lower
· Optimized QEmax > 95%
· Low noise 16bit A/D converter
· USB interface and software controlled.
· A high stability research grade microscope/spectrometer for allowing confocal measurements with ≤ 950nm depth resolution and spatial resolution ≤ 300 nm by using a 100x objective
· Motorized z-stage system for automated approach, 30mm travel range with single step size of 10 nm resolution should be an integrated part of the microscope/ spectrometer with Autofocus features.
· Sample size of upto 100 mm dia or more should be accommodated and thickness of 20 mm or more
· The microscope/spectrometer should be branded research grade with 6x objective turret or more, colour camera for viewing and LED white light source.
· The Upright Microscope should have an optical port to connect fibers for individual wavelengths between laser and microscope.
· Standard Objectives with 10x, 50x, 100x magnifications to be included.
· Long working distance objective 20 x / 50 x suitable for use with low temperature stage
· The microscope should have compatibility of DIC, Dark-field, Fluorescence Imaging on upgrades.
Motorized X-Y-sample scanning stage for microscope/spectrometer should be fully integrated with Control Interface.

· Advanced digital controller based on a System-on-a-Chip concept. The digital component of the system should be based on one Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). To include an Add-on software package for advanced Raman imaging and data evaluation with following functionalities: -

· Intuitive Demixing of components by weighted subtraction algorithms
· Multivariate Data analysis: Cluster analysis, Principal component analysis (PCA) & Non-negative matrix factorization (NMF)
· Advanced fitting tool: Fitting of full 2D/3D datasets.

· Various filters e.g., Fourier, Anisotropic, Edge, Sharpen, User-Customized filters and many more.

4.2k closed cycle optical cryostat
1. Completely cryogen free closed cycle cryostat for operation between 4.2K and 300K (at sample stage) for sample in vacuum configuration. This specification to be demonstrated for site acceptance.
2. Cooling capacity at sample stage should be at least [email protected]. The cryocooling system should be modular and be able to cool multiple cryostat (optical, microscopy, magneto-optical) modules separately. System should be supplied along with all accessories needed for running cryostat
3. Cryocooler should be outside optical table for better vibration isolation from experiment and support orientation free mounting. The vibration level should be less than 30 nm at the sample stage. To be substantiated with data.
4. No requirement of Helium gas for every cooling/heating cycle.
5. Modular microscopy module working distance of < 6mm between sample and objective in reflection mode.
6. One top window made of Quartz with >1-inch clear aperture. Transmission of windows should be 300-2000 nm. User changeable windows. Vacuum port for evacuating the sample space.
7. The sample stage should have 8 wired connections terminating to a vacuum compatible fisher connector on the shroud.
8. For temperature control and monitoring, two calibrated Silicon diode sensors should be provided – one sensor for temperature control and one for sample monitoring. Heating of the sample stage to controllably done using a 50 ohm/watt rugged cartridge heater specified for in vacuum use.
9. A cryogenic 2-channel temperature controller to be provided along with necessary cables and sensor curves loaded.
10. Possibility of site upgradation to DAC with minimal additional hardware. Price to be quoted in optional and shall be considered for evaluation.
11. To be supplied with turbomolecular pump and necessary accessories such as flexible lines/hoses. Turbomolecular pump system should reach an ultimate pressure ~10-6mbar or lower with a backing pump of either oil free diaphragm or scroll pump.
12. A water chiller of suitable capacity of 5TR capacity or more should be provided.
13. The vibrations from the cryocooler head should be completely isolated from the cold head.
14. Main supply: 230 ±10 volts, 50 Hz/ 3Ph, 415V, 50 Hz
15. Installation and student training as required. (No extra cost).
16. At-least 3 similar systems should have been supplied in India in the last 5 years, PO, contact and installation certificates to be provided. Users shall be contacted for feedback.
