SERVICES
EARTH EXCAVATION & BACKFILLING : Earth work in excavation in all kind of soil by mechanical means (hydraulic excavator)/ manual means over areas including disposal of excavated earh, lead upto 50 m and lift upto 1.5 m, disposed earth to be levelled and neatly dressed. Backfilling to restore original condition as per site requirement and as per direction of Engineer-in Charge including supply of all tools & Tackles, Manpower, consumables, equipments etc.
Opening of roof appurtuances & fixing it back: Opening of roof appurtuances including opening of roof manholes (2 Nos) and other flange Hole . Opening and boxing up of man holes, covers of tanks, the job involves opening of cover, man holes, by opening of bolts & nuts, cold/hot cutting of corroded fastners, boxing up by providing & using wire braded new & proper rating gasket after cleaning of flange faces including all Material, tools, takles, labours, consumables etc. in the scope of contractor to complete the work as per direction of Engineer-in-charge/Site Engineer.
Opening shell manholes etc. & fixing it back in position : Opening shell manholes & fixing it back in position including all tools, takles, labours, consumables etc. in the scope of contractor. Opening and boxing up of man holes, covers of Tank, the job involves opening of cover, man holes, by opening of bolts & nuts, cold/hot cutting of corroded fastners, boxing up by providing & using wire braded new & proper rating gasket after cleaning of flange faces.
Removal of 18"X150#,12"X150#, 10"X150#, 4"X150#, 3"X150#, 2"X150# valves including removal of gaskets, nuts, bolts, etc. and transportation either to owner's storage point/ workshop and/ or scrapyard including loosening of studs, disconnecting earthing protection all complete along with actuator and Transportation of all types of flanged valves, gaskets, nut bolts etc. either from owner's storage point to workshop and / or worksite and reinstallation of valves fixing it back in position including assembly of valve accessories, cleaning of flanged faces, fixing the gaskets of proper size, placing the gaskets properly, tightening of studs, providing earthing protection by way of fixing strips, all complete as per drawings and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge including all labour, tools, tackles, consumables and supervision etc.
Ramp making for Hydra , trolly & Equipment movement : Making of two ramps at the flushout doors to enable the placement of trolley, gully succker for loading of sludge and restoration after desludging. Ramp making to enable movement of hydra, trolley etc. to dump the sludge & other tank related work inclusive of provision of piping for maintaining flow in storm water drain. Ramp to be erected from suitable side of tank farm to enable movement of truck, tractor trolley etc. for sludge removal and hydra etc. For various maintenance works without cutting the dyke and restoration of ramp site back to original condition including all tools & Tackles, Equipments, manpower, supervision, consumables etc. Any damage to dyke shall be repaired by Contractor to its original condition at own risk and cost as per direction of Site Engineer/ Engineer-in-charge. During ramp making , water drainage in tank dyke and peripheral drain should not be choked by providing necessary pipe to allow water movement.
Provision of blind on inlet/outlet line : Blinding and Deblinding of Inlet / Outlet lines and other opening including all tools & Tackles, Equipments, manpower, supervision, consumables etc as per Engineer-in-charge.
Empty out of tanks for carrying out Tank M&I: Scope of Work: Arrangement of Trolley mounted Portable Pump with flame proof Motor and placement of the same near tank as per site requirement for empyting out the tank. Piping connection from tank at water draw off line to be emptied out to the tank /tanker/ place, where product to be transferred is included in the scope of the job.Product mix with sludge need to be shifted from BKPL Barauni Pump Station to Barauni Refinery through closed vehicle / Gully Sucker in safe manner.Payment for shifting of Product/Sludge shall be paid separately under SOR item No. 9. Trial run of the pump to the full satisfaction of Production in-charge. Supervision during Empty out of balance product left out after tank decommissioning for troubleshooting and other maintenance support as per instruction & entire satisfaction of Site Engineer / EIC. Arrangement of all tools and tackles for carrying out the jobs as per instruction & entire satisfaction of Site Engineer / EIC. Though the normal working time is 8:30 am to 5 pm, however, the contractor may be asked to carry out the job on round the clock basis as per the requirement. No additional compensation over and above SOR shall be made on account of this.The scope of the job also includes adaptor, hose connections, flange opening and box up along with gasket and hot bolting for the job.All the jobs are to be carried out in safe and skilled manner and as per entire satisfaction of E.I.C. Any modification in piping or fabrication of adapter/fittings shall be done by Contractor in order to empty out the product from tank is included in this item.
Water Filling and emptying of tank : Filling approx 30-40 CMs of water into the tank and emptying out oil-water mixture from the tank to owners Oil-Water collection pit with arrangement of Motor & pump/ piping/ Gully Sucker /labour/ tools & tackles complete in safe manner as above and as per entire satisfaction of EIC.
Cleaning of tank and Disposal of sludge : Cleaning of tank as per guideline given in the code API-2015 by a combination of mechanical/manual process, taking out sludge, moist clay liquid mixture, line scale etc. and transporting the sludge without spoiling the handling route including loading at Barauni Pump Station and unloading at specified place (Barauni Refinery) by closed vehicle like MOSRU, Gully sucker/emptier to slduge lagoon , taking all safety precautions including supply of all trolley/drums etc., tools and tackles, breathing apparatus, fire and safety appliances etc. to complete the job as per the direction of EIC. Cleaning & restoration of roads due to spillage of sludge (by spreading sand & scrapping the area) during transportation lies in contractor's scope including all tool & tackles, Manpower, equipments, consumable etc. No additional payment shall be made for cleaning and restoration.
CLEANING MOPPING OF TANK : CLEANING MOPPING OF TANKS (SCAFFOLDING MATERIAL IN CONTRACTOR'S SCOPE) Cleaning of tanks by flushing with steam and water, scrubbing, thorough cleaning of the welded joints of MS plates with wire brush for inspection of the joints, all pipeles, structure , supports, entire tank bottom plate and cleaning of all dirt, dust, residual sludge (if any), oil spillage with coir brush, brooms, scrapper, cotton waste, kerosene etc. including removing all refuse from inside of tank and putting them by placing it at Barauni Refinery pits /at place within refinery area as directed, as directed by engineer-in-charge . Complete in all respect with all labour, tools and tackles, consumables, Kerosene etc. The area to be covered under the scope is tank bottom, intenal surface of shell upto 2.0 meter from the tank bottom, all piping dia., supporting structures, water draw off sumps, bottom side of roof plates, all piping dia. roof supporting legs etc. all within the height of 2.0 m. The work includes taking necessary permission from BKPL, Barauni Refinery and Security agency.
BUFFING OF OLD WELD JOINTS : Job involves buffing and cleaning of weld joint area of the tank bottom/ roof/ shell etc. using power brush as per site requirement. The job has to be completed in all respect to the entire satisfaction of the Engineer-in-Charge (each length of buffing will be up to width of 150 mm i.e. 75 mm on each side of weld joints). This includes supply of tools & tackles, equipments, labour, Grinder, consumables etc as per direction and satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge.
API Inspection and integrity assesment of Tank as per API 653 External & Internal Inspection of tank, Low Frequency Electromagnetic Test (LFET) of Bottom plate, UT Thickness survey of roof plate, shell, Manhole, Nozzel, Roof Manhole & Nozzels and bottom plate, Bottom plate weld inspection (WET FLUORESCENT MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING), Shell Thickness Survey (Auto Viper System), Visual Inspection (External & Internal), checking of Tank Verticality/Out of Plumbness, Checking of Tank out of Roundness/Ovality,Bottom Settlement Measurement, Shell Settlement Measurement etc. API inspection shall be done by Authorized inspection agency/ Inspectors specialized in ET, UT & MPI. Inspectors should be above ground storage tank inspector certified by API as per Clause no. 3.3 in API-653. The authorized inspector shall prepare a written report. These inspection reports along with inspector recommendations. Report should be contains information as mentioned in clause no. 6.9.2 in API-653. Report should also include checklist for Tank Out-of-service Inspection. All inspection work shall be completed as per API-653 and as per direction of Engineer-in-charge including all Equipment, tools & Tackles, instruments, Manpower, consumables, Matetrial, manual / wire brush cleanning of test surface etc. Contractor shall arrange all scaffolding work, all cleanning work through grit blasting, buffing of weld joint for MPI test as per requirment of inspection agency. (Payment for Scafffolding, Grit blasing and buffing of weld joint shall be given in separate SOR item). submission of detailed report of individual plates in Four nos. of hard copies as well as in two nos. of soft copies with software (if any) in DVDs/ pen drives. The reports shall be approved by API Certified Inspector as per API-653 code. Details of work may be referred in Technical Specification of work.
Erection of steel scaffolding Inside and outside of tank : The job includes transportation of scaffolding materials in contractor's scope of supply, erection of scaffolding at site covering the areas specified including providing vertical posts of pipes at interdistance of 1.5m and horizontal numbers at a interdistance of 0.5 to 0.75m, providing tie rods at corners to give sufficient strength to the structure, placing the wooden/ steel planks / FRP gratings on top for making sufficient area as per instructions of Engineer-in-Charge/Site-Engineer & dismantling scaffolding after completion of job. Supply of all tools, tackles, materials, consumables, labour and erection works shall be in the scope of contractor. Note:- Measurement shall be done in SQM - 2 (length + width) X height area covered by the scaffolding is to be taken). Double scaffolding is considered for installation for safety at work site.
Copper slag/Grit/shot blasting, removing rust /old paints : Surface preparation by Copper slag/Grit/Shot blasting or with power wire brush (wherever blast cleaning is not possible) on storage tanks external surfaces of shell, bottom plates, top of the roof, bottom of the roof, 1.5 m from top shell inside, 2.0 m from bottom shell inside, tank roof supporting structures below top roof plates, Roof supporting column, staircase, breather valve and other steel structures/flat surfaces to S.A. 2-1/2 sweedish specifications in position at all heights with all tools and takles, materials, consumables, labours etc. complete in all respect including supply of air (contractor will have to make it's own arrangement for compressor etc. for arranging required air for blasting) to complete the work at all height and depth in all respects, removal of waste and unwanted materials from blasted areas, cleaning of surrounding areas for inspection of the tank after taking all precautions as per specifications and directions of Engineer-in-charge. A min light intensity of 100 foot candles (1076 lux)is to be maintained at the areas where fabrication, welding, surfacepreparation and painting work is being carried out. Flameproof &sparkless lighting with white light shall be done inside the tank during the period of work.
Painting on roof and shell Plate : Applying One coat of Inorganic Ethyl Zinc Silicate Primer to a dry film thickness of minimum 75 Microns by airless spray application, Alkyd based (polyamide cured) High build MIO Intermediate Paint with minimum 100 microns DFT by airless spray application, followed by two coats of acrylic aliphatic Polyurethane (PU) paint coat with each coat minimum 30 microns DFT of by airless spray application and by brush for stripe coat only of Berger/ Asian paint/Shalimar or equivalent brand approved by EIC (Total DFT of primer & paint combind together shall not be less than 235 microns anywhere) over tank shell external surface, wind girder, Roof & roof structural, appurtenances etc. by airless spray application including supply and application of paints, stripe coat on all weld joints / projections, carrying out MIBK test, holiday test to detect any pinholes etc.supply of all equipments, tools & tackles, labour, etc. as per specifications of manufacturer and directions / instruction of the EIC. Contractor shall take prior approval for Color and shade.
Priming & painting of bottom plates, Roof plates inside etc. : Priming & painting of the tank bottom surface, internal surface of shell upto 2.0 M from the tank bottom & 1.5 M from top shell inside, tank roof bottom side (facing bottom plates), all supproting structures, piping, water draw off sumps etc. inside the tank; painting of the surface with Inorganic Ethyl Zinc Silicate Primer to a dry film thickness of minimum 75 Microns by airless spray application, one coat of High build epoxy zinc phosphate Primer to a dry film thickness of minimum 35 Microns by airless spray application and two coats of Catalytically cured (Polyamide/ Amine cured) High Build Epoxy Finish Paint 80 microns thickness each by Airless spray, by brush for stripe coat of Berger/ Asian paint/Shalimar or equivalent brand approved by EIC (Total DFT of primer & paint combind together shall not be less than 270 microns anywhere), carrying out MIBK test, holiday test to detect any pinholes etc. Providing sufficient nos. of flame proof lamps, erection of scaffolding (to be paid under scaffolding head of SOR items), including supply of all materials, labour, consumables etc. to complete the work at all height and depth in all respects, removal of waste and unwanted materials at directed location, cleaning of surrounding areas for inspection of the tank after taking all precautions as per specifications and directions of Engineer-in-charge. A min light intensity of 100 foot candles (1076 lux)is to be maintained at the areas where fabrication, welding, surfacepreparation and painting work is being carried out. Flameproof &sparkless lighting with white light shall be done inside the tank during the period of work
Application of primer in bottom side of bottom plate : Copper slag/Grit/shot blasting, removing rust /old paints, application of Applying One coat of Inorganic Ethyl Zinc Silicate Primer to a dry film thickness of minimum 75 Microns by airless spray application method in bottom side of bottom plate etc. including supply and application of paints, stripe coat on all weld joints projection supply of all equipments, tools & tackles, labour etc. as per specifications of manufacturer and directions / instructions of EIC.
Priming & Painting with synthetic enamel paint of required colour : Cleaning, removing dry paint, oil or grease, and the like by scrapping, sand papering, wire brush, power brush etc. and preparing the surface complete followed by two or more coats synthetic enamel paint over an under coat of suitable shade with primer of Berger/Asian/ Shalimar or equivalent approved brand and manufacture. The colour code followed will be as per as per OISD/ PNGRB/ Statutory guide lines, including supply of all materials like primer paint, labour, consumables etc. to complete the work as per specification and direction of EIC.
Dismantling of Shell/roof/ bottom plates : Retrieving all existing fittings, instruments, seals, side railings form the area expected to affect during dismantling, dismantling of damaged corroded shell / roof / bottom plates from tank, all welded oil storage tank by gas cuttings/cold cutting or any other suitable means as directed by engineer in charge & transporting them to storage point as designated in the Scrap Yard without disturbing / damaging any portion of existing piping, equipment tank & complete in all respect with all type of scaffolding, labour, tools, machineries. Dismantling of bottom (Annular) plates job involves cutting of bottom plates & shell to bottom plate welding, jacking of shell and also annular to sketch plate cutting. Dismantling of bottom (sketch) plates by gas cutting & roof to be properly supported for maintenance for tank bottom foundation repair. Note: The measurement of dismantling, shall be calculated based on actual area laid of complete roof plate minus 10% corrosion correction. Unit MT stand for Metric tonnes (1 MT=1000Kg=1 TO).
Shell window cutting : Retrieving all existing fittings, instruments, seals, side railings form the area expecteded to affect during dismantling of Shell window cutting (of appropriate size preferebly 3 SQM) in 1st shell course for 3 SQM area of 14-15 mm plate for taking plates inside the tank and refitting of the shell plate after completion of bottom plate repair work as per the instructions of EIC, including edge preparation & fitment, welding of shell plate by E7018 electrodes after preheating the plate to 100 degree, stress reliving treatment (PWHT) of welded portion, carrying out Dye penetrant test etc. to bring back the tank in original condition as per instruction of EIC & to the satisfaction of inspection & engineer-in-charge. Proper stiffining/ support to be provided in cut out plate to prevent deformation. Erection of stiffining/ support for this work is integral part of the work. All weld joints conforming to NDT, such as DT test, Pneumatic test; joints radiography etc. As per code API-650/653 & IS-803 Note: Cost of all NDT included except DP & Radiography test. Radiography and DP test shall be paid as separate item.
Supply & Welding of 5 mm plates in Roof & shell : Supply of 5 mm new IS2062A, CS plates, transportation of CS plates from inspection/storage point to prefabrication yard and then to the work site including cutting to the required sizes, grinding, edge preparing followed by fabrication, erection & welding (manual, automatic/ semiautomatic) of CS plates and required NDT testing (like dye penetration, vacuum box test by soap solutions under 3 psi vaccum) to prove soundness of weld joint with supply of all consumables, manpower, tools as per technical specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge. All jobs related to tank roof replacement to be completed including all NDT as per codes in all respect for restoring the tank in original condition & commissioning as per the drawing, specifications, relevant latest codes (perAPI-650/ 653/ IS:803) & to the satisfaction of inspection / production & engineer-in-charge. Unit MT stand for Metric tonnes (1 MT=1000Kg=1 TO).

All jobs related to tank roof replacement to be completed including all NDT as per codes in all respect for restoring the tank in original condition & commissioning as per the drawing, specifications, relevant latest codes (perAPI-650/ 653/ IS:803) & to the satisfaction of inspection / production & engineer-in-charge.
Supply & Welding of 8/10/12/14/16 mm plates in shell & bottom : Supply of 8/10/12/14/16 mm new IS2062A CS plates, transportation of CS plates from inspection/storage point to prefabrication yard and then to the work site including cutting to the required sizes, grinding, edge preparing followed by fabrication, erection, overlaying & welding of bottom annular plates keeping painted surface towards bituminous pad. Making slot in tank shell, insertion of annular plate. Shell to bottom welding from both side of shell with E7018. Testing of butt/ lap joints by soap solutions under pneumatic test. Chalk-diesel test of shell to bottom annular plate all around. Job involves-Edge preparation; fixing of backing strip; welding; NDT i.e. performing DP test, pneumatic test; joints radiography etc. misc. job involves. Lifting of tank shell by jacking. Hydroulically jack up of tank shell to be done in case of annular plate replacement. All weld joints preparation by buffing to facilitate NDT, required NDT testing (like dye penetration, vacuum box test by soap solutions under 3 psi vaccum, radiography (by double wall/double image radiography) etc.) to prove soundness of weld joint with supply of all consumables, manpower, tools as per technical specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge. All jobs related to tank plate replacement to be completed including all NDT as per codes in all respect for restoring the tank in original condition & commissioning as per the drawing, specifications, relevant latest codes (perAPI-650/ 653/ IS:803) & to the satisfaction of inspection / production & engineer-in-charge. Fabrication/ erection/ laying of bottom sketch plates 8 /10 mm thick: Transport of Plates from store to work site, fabrication, erection, overlaying, edge preparation/ fixing of backing strip/ welding of bottom sketch plates keeping painted surface towards bituninous pad. All weld joints conforming to NDT, such as DP test, pneumatic test; vacuum test, joints radiography etc as epr code API-650/653; IS-803. Misc. jobs involves. All weld joints preparation by buffing to facilitate NDT. Preparation of mud dam. Conducting pneumatic test as per inspection recommendation.

The grooved circumferential weld joint to be butted/ grind to remove rust/ scale etc before welding. Welding shall be carried out with E6013 electrode. The weld built up should be flush ground as per instruction of engineer-in-charge and to complete the job in all respect. If multiple run required, measurement of each run will be taken separately.

WELD DEPOSIT ON PITTED SURFACE Grinding / cleaning on pitted / corroded area and filling the pitted surface by weld deposit and grinding / smoothening the surface as required and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. CS weld deposit for tank surface (upto 2.5mm depth)
DYE PENETRATION TEST FOR TANK WORKS Performance of dye penetration test including supply of all necessary materials, penetrant, developer etc. along with all equipments, labour, for carrying out the work as per specification & direction of engineer -in-charge at all elevations. Test has to be carried out in all metallurgy the test has to carry out on all schedules of pipes.
RADIOGRAPHY OF PIPING WORKS Performance of radiographic inspection on all type & sizing of piping/ pipe fittings in position at all heights inclusive of providing sources, film, chemicals, & all necessary equipment's, consumables etc. complete in all respect as per specification & instruction of the Engineer-in-Charge.
RECONDITIONING OF GATE, GLOBLE, CHECK VALVES OF ANY CLASS Job involves transportation of valves (any class) from owners storage location to contractor's store, identifying the repairable valves by visual inspection, opening & dismantling of valves, cleaning by rustoline or kerosene of all the components thoroughly, further inspection of internal parts in the presence of the Engineer-in-Charge, repair / reconditioning of valves by hand facing, machining, grinding, lapping etc. with all tools, tackles, replacement of missing or defective parts such as studs & nuts of gland, body hand wheel, nut bonnet, back seat bush, gland chaser & any other parts recommended by Engineer-in-Charge and finally re-assembling the valves, gland packing & testing as per API 598 / BS 5146. Painting of valve body, bonnet, yoke etc with one coat of red oxide and two coat of heat resistant aluminium paint (special varnish medium with with aluminium flakes) and wheel shall be painted with one coat of primer and two coat of black enamel paint. In case valves fail during testing, the above sequence will be repeated at no extra cost. Note: The cost of new spares shall be calculated and paid separately.

Maintenance of miscellaneous items-Tank : This includes checking and rectification of earthing connection for electrical continuity, check and rectification of anchor bolts, opening and fixing of level indicator with all accessories / goose neck etc., chipping of pre-mix carpeting of tank foundation at desire places and complete all such work in all respect as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge. This also includes installation of Flame Arrestor / Breather valves (grinding, buffing) etc.

PNEUMATIC TEST OF TANK BOTTOM / ROOF : The job includes vacuum / pneumatic testing of the tank bottom/ roof surface to identify leaks and repairs required including all connected jobs of blinding, de-blinding etc. and all tools, tackles, consumables etc. with air compressor and as per the direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.
Diesel Chalk test of tank : Making of mud dam,diesel chalk test & preparation for bottom/shell weld joints along periphery of oil tank tesing of bottom plate.Provision of making mud dam out the crude oil tanks filling water in dam and making arrangement for pneumatic testing of bottom plate. Dam to be made of height app. 0.5M or as per site condition through out the periphery of tank. This include supply of all skilled, unskilled labours, tools tackles, excavation of soil for making dam ect. Complete the job in all respect including removal of dam afer tesing of tank bottom. All job should be carried out as per insruction of Site engg./EIC.HERE ALL THE ITEMS REQUIRED FOR THE TEST & PREPARATION ALONG THE NECESSARY TOOLS AND TACKLES WILL BE UNDER THE SCOPE OF CONTRACTORS
BOTTOM DRAW-OFF SUMP & ALLIED JOBS: The job includes cutting, edge prepairing, rolling, fabrication, fixing and welding of bottom draw-off sumps per API-650., complete with bottom reinforcement pad after removing the existing bottom plate, cutting of tank foundation at the area where the sump will be located and coating of underneath surfaces alongwith piping work for extention of drain line and complete in all respect as per instruction of Engineer-in-Charge. All materials like plate, pad etc. required for erection shall be integral part of the work.
Bituminous carpet rectification : Providing and laying ANTI-CORROSIVE LAYER of 75 mm thick Bituminous carpet on Tank Pads, under Tank Bottom Plates & around external annular plates with screened dry medium sand and 60/70 grade bitumen (8 to 10% by volume) including mixing in proper ratio, heating to the required temperature, compacting and dressing to the required compaction and slope etc. all as per specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge, with all equipments, tools, tackles, materials and labour complete & disposal of debris of damaged bitumen padding to the place designated by EIC..
Lettering with two or more coat : Lettering with black Japan paint of approved brand and manufacture Note: Unit of measurement has been considered EACH which is equal to per cm height per letter. Note: In Drawing the monogram, Base of Logo will be paid in synthetic enamel painting and letter writing will be covered under this item.
HYDRAULIC TESTING OF THE TANK : This includes hydraulic testing of the tank to identify leaks and repairs required including all connected jobs like blinding / de-blinding, temporary piping arrangements to fill in and empty out the water as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Tank Calibration : Calibration of the tank as per IS-2007 and IS-2008/Survey method, preparing the calibration sheets on standard forms showing strapping details, calculation details and other relevant details including bottom calibration after taking measurement of dead wood etc. and certified by CPWD or Weights and Measures Department or any other equivalent government competent authority (including all liaison work with the competent authority for approving the calibration charts) with all labour, instruments, erection of scaffolding from contractor's supplied materials etc. and delivery of calibration charts to the Engineer-in-Charge in hard copy as well as in soft copy (fees to the competent authority/Calibration fee included).
REPLACEMENT OF FIRE WATER SPRINKLER RING OF OIL STORAGE TANKS & FABRICATION OF NEW SYSTEM Dismantling of complete cooling ring by cold cutting from existing location (from height 10-15 meter) of the tank & lowering down to ground level. Transportation of new pipe from storage point to place of work. Fabrication of sprinkler piping with flange joints at every 20 meter interval or as decided by EIC, (This includes bending, cutting, grinding, bevelling, fabrication, providing supports, welding of flanges as per site requirement, welding of SS sockets for sprinklers) Erection, laying of firewater sprinkler system (cooling ring) in original shape and position including SS sockets with sprinkler welding at suitable location as per inspection and safety recommendation/Statutory requirement. Testing of all joints, section before erection, jointing these pipes with vertical header by equal tee and flanged end connection, testing and commissioning the system, strenthening/ rectification/ Modification of support brackets with supply of material and providing U-clamps for ring wherever required to complete the job in all respect including supply of all equipments (welding machine, pipe bending machine, lifting tools and tackles, grinding machines etc), Consumables such as electrodes, grinding wheels etc as per specification and direction of EIC. This also includes salvaging of sprinklers from old piping, erection and removal of steel scaffolding for carrying out above job, fabrication of dia 3"/ 4" miters etc. Shifting of all scrap to scrap yard shall be in the scope of contractor. This also includes cutting and rebuilding of dyke if required for movement. Pipe - Dia 3" Note: 1. The contractor shall be paid on the actual measurement on running meter basis of sprinkler system. 2. If the item is operated when tank is in operation then no hot job shall be permissible at site. The ring system shall be fabricated with flanges at ends of bend pipe and to be erected and boxed up. However, if it is carried out during M&I of tank then hot job may be permissible. In such cases the flange joint may not be required at ends of bend pipe. The maintenance philosophy shall be decided by EIC at the time of execution. The rate of item shall remain unchanged for both maintenance philosophy. 3. The above item is applicable for replacement of fire water sprinkler ring only. 4. Payment for vertical riser pipe/ horizontal header (other than ring portion) shall be paid in seperate item under this SOR.
CARBON STEEL PIPING FOR NON-HYDROCARBON SERVICE (WITH WELDING ELECTRODE E-6013) : Transportation of all piping items from owner's stroage points to work site and / or pre-fabrication yard and to site after pre-febrication; cutting, grinding, edge preparation of pipes and fittings, like flanges, elbows, tees, reducers etc. to match the mating edges of different thickness; fit-up, bending, welding using approved welding electrods as per owners quality requirements etc. as per codes/specifications, drawing etc., threading, laying and alignment of pipes at ground level i.e. upto a height of 5 meters on sleepers, pipe racks etc. anchoring wherever required, connecting with equipments, nozzles, strainers, spray nozzles rotameters; tapping for instrument connections like pressure gauges, thermowells, sample connections, vents, drains etc. including fixing of all types of SW valves, gaskets, nuts & bolts, all inline instruments, elbows, tees, flanges, reducers, full coupling or half coupling, reinforcement pads, earthing strip wherever required; welding prefabricated shoes & supports (including alignment) as per the specification including preparation of small bore isometrics upto 1.5 inch NB, specifications, codes etc. and as per the instructions of the Engineer-in-Charge to his entire satisfaction including supplying of all types of tools & tackles, lifting arrangements, equipment, machineries, all consumables & labour etc. to complete the work in all respects in a workman like manner including area preparation for hot jobs, area cleaning after completion of work, flushing wherever required, cleaning of pipes externally off all foreign materials like weld beads, clamps fixtures etc. used in fabrication as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. NOTE : Proper safety arrangements for carrying out the job is under contractor's scope and the same has to be complied with as per the directions of the Engineer- in-Charge.

Tank barricading & fire screen : The job involves Design, fabrication, erection and maintenance when required, of fire protection screen wall/barricading including supply of all materials which are to be retrieved and to be taken back by the contractor after completion of the job as per the instruction and to the full satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge. The design calculation shall be submitted for approval to the owner and shall be approved from Design Department. This rate shall be applicable for all heights. The job involves Design, fabrication & erection of barricading / fire protection screen wall including supply of all materials which are to be retrieved and to be taken back by the contractor after completion of the job including time to time maintenance, if required, as per the instruction and to the full satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge. Contractor shall make barricading / fire protection screen wall of tank firm area or any other location without disturbing / fouling the existing facilities. The purpose of barricading / fire protection screen wall is to carry out hot work in the barricated area without disturbing the operation. The contractor's scope includes the design , enginnering of barricading / fire protection screening wall suitable to take care of load of the barricading, wind load etc and taking approval of the design from owner. The erection shall only be started on approval of design by owner. The contractor's scope shall include the area preperation, excavation, foudation preperation, structural materials, cement, concrete, sand, dismantling of foundation, back filling & making the area good to original condition after completion of the job. Cost of all above mentioned jobs & other miscellaneous job to complete the barricading / fire protection wall in all respect are included. All jobs including supply of all materials shall be in the scope of contractors whether the same have been explicitly mentioned or not.
ALL THE DESIGN CALCULATIONS & ITS CORRESPONDING STRUCTURAL DESIGN NEEDS TO BE GET APPROVED BY THE ENGINEERING SERVICVES DEPARTMENT OF THE IOCL. Design of barricading / fire protection screen wall shall consist broadly but not limited to: a)Loadings (wind load & dead load of column) as per IS875. b)General arrangement of the column for fire protection wall. c)Calculation of forces & bending moments at different points. d)Design calculation of column shall be based on the following guidelines: OPTION 1: Column built up of channels i)Design of batten plates. ii)Check for combined stress in column. iii)Calculation for self weight of column. iv)Design of base plate. or any other requirement as per code. OPTION 2: Column built up of Angles i)Design of lacings. ii)Check for combined stress in column. iii)Calculation for self weight of column. iv)Design of base plate. or any other requirement as per code. e)Design of guywire. f)Design of runners. g)Design of anchorage. h)Sectional elevation drawings.
REMOVAL/CLEANING & FIXING OF SPRAY NOZZLE : Removal/ cleaning and fixing of spray nozzles of tank sprinkler system as per direction of Engineer-In-Charge.
Submission of 2 sets of approved as built dimensional drawings as per repair and maintenance carried out in the tank roof, bottom plate,inside the tank, shell, sprinkler line, foam line, gauge well, fixed ladder, and detailed earth pit drawing along with reports of repair and maintenance as per the directions of EIC. Contractor shall submit 2 hardcopies and 2 softcopies in Auto Cad Format of all drawings and reports within 15 days of the completion of work.
