Provn of covering the main drain of hospital with Iron grill length 4 KM breadth 300 mm at CH (NC) and Provn of equipment earthing for AF room at HQ NC under GE (UTILITIES) Udhampur

Providing, fabricating and fixing Mild Steel drain covers, each cover being approximately 300 mm wide, over existing (or new) brick/RCC drains, comprising 6 mm thick MS chequered steel plate for complete continuous covering of the drain, supported on continuous MS Angle 50 × 50 × 6 mm frame. The supporting frame shall be properly aligned, levelled and securely connected to the existing brick/RCC drain walls using M10/M12 heavy-duty mechanical/chemical anchor fasteners at suitable spacing, generally 300–450 mm c/c, including drilling, cleaning of holes, nuts, washers, cleats, brackets and all necessary fixing accessories. At intervals not exceeding 4.0 m to 5.0 m, two numbers of openable MS grating covers shall be provided for periodic cleaning and maintenance of drains. Each grating cover shall be fabricated from MS Flat 40 × 6 mm longitudinal members with MS Square Bar 12 × 12 mm transverse members, welded together and enclosed in MS Angle Frame 40 × 40 × 5 mm. The openable grating covers shall be provided with heavy-duty MS hinges securely fixed to the main supporting frame, MS lifting/opening handles, stoppers and suitable locking/holding arrangement wherever required, allowing easy and repeated opening and closing for cleaning/desilting.

The grating covers shall be properly aligned and flush with the adjoining chequered plate cover. Item shall include all MS chequered plates, angles, flats, square bars, frames, stiffeners, hinges, handles, cleats, brackets, anchor fasteners, nuts, washers, welding electrodes and consumables, cutting, drilling, welding, grinding, fabrication, transportation, loading/unloading, erection, fixing and all incidental works, complete in all respects as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Measurement shall be by actual weight of Mild Steel incorporated in the completed work. Note : This includes preparation of existing surfaces by making sufaces of PCC coping truely levelled by using pre-mixed ready-to-use concrete before fixing drain covers with frame to the entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-Charge. Nothing shall be paid extra for levelling mortar.

Preparation and painting of all surfaces of Mild Steel drain-cover components including 6 mm thick chequered plates, MS angle frames, openable grating covers, MS flats, square bars, hinges, lifting handles, cleats, brackets and other exposed steelwork, including removal of rust, mill scale, dirt, oil and grease by wire brushing/mechanical cleaning, surface preparation, application of one coat approved red oxide/zinc-rich anti-corrosive metal primer followed by two coats approved synthetic enamel/epoxy protective paint, including touch-up after fabrication, welding and fixing, complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Demolition of cement concrete in ground floors and pavings n exc 15 cm thickness (below or above ground level) all as specified and removing demolished material out of MD land, complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Earth work in excavation by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator)/ in foundation trenches or drains (not exceeding 1.5 m in width or 10 sqm on plan), including dressing of sides and ramming of bottoms, lift upto 1.5 m, including getting out the excavated soil and disposal of surplus excavated soil as directed, within a lead of 50 m. (All kinds of soil), complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Returning, filling in, including spreading, levelling, watering and well ramming in layers not exc 25 cm, complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Material and labour for providing, mixing, laying, and compacting Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) nominal mix 1:4:8, Type D2 using 40 mm graded crushed stone aggregate, deposited in foundations, filling, and mass concrete works including filling in trenches, plinths, under floors, or concrete beds, complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Plain cement concrete, (Nominal mix), Type B-1, 1:2:4 (using 20 mm graded crushed stone aggregates) as in cills, coping, apex stone, bed plates, surface channels, lintels upto 1.6 m clear span and in drain works, etc., including necessary form work, complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge

Forming fair finished drain or channel 30 cm inner girth in cement concrete, using extra cement, including forms, moulds, mi- tred/stopped ends etc, complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Demolition of Brickwork or stone/ boulder masonry in cement mortar, complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.
