REPAIR TO RUNWAY JOINT FILLING OF RIGID PAVEMENT AND GRASS CUTTING AT ALG MECHUKA AND TUTING UNDER GE (AF) JORHAT

Cutting of grass, bushes, jungles, etc.pre or post monsoon mechanically and to be removed from sites and deposited at low land area outside of MoD land complete all as specified and as directed.

Racking out of old existing sealant compound and back up rod of the existing dummy joints by special tools like cutting blades/machines, widening of joints by 2mm with using joint cutting blades of appropriate size straight and smooth edges. Joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air. Joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil vegetation and other debris. Application of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before pacing the backup rod and pouring the sealant. Thereafter filled with closed cell, medium density, cross linked polyethylene foam backup rod of 8mm dia for complete length of the joint, over it to be filled with polyurethane joint sealant meeting the requirements mentioned in BS-5212, BS 4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor (MAF) of+/- 30% complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer -In-Charge.

Racking out of old existing sealant compound, back up rod and filler board of the existing expansion joints by special tools like racker/cutting blades/machines, widening of joints by 2mm with using joint cutting blades of appropriate size, straight and smooth edges. Joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air. Joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil, vegetation and other debris. Application of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before placing the filler board and pouring the sealant. Thereafter filled with pre-molded 25mm thick compressible polyethylene closed cell type filler board as specified, over it filled with closed cell medium density, cross linked polyethylene foam backup rod of 30mm dia for complete length of the joint. Finally filled with polyurethane joint sealant meeting the requirements mentioned in BS-5212, BS 4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor MAF of+/- 30% complete all as specified and directed by Engineer -In-Charge.

M&L for cleaning the existing cracks 6mm to 10mm wide and 50mm deep as in bituminous surface of runway, by blowing all loose foreign particles with air compressor, removing rubbish outside MoD land and filling the cracks with sealing compound Grade 'B' (IS-1834) and finish the top surfaces complete all as specified and as directed. NOTE : The contract sum shall be derieved by deducting the amount shown in Schedule of Credit attached to this tender from total amount of Schedule 'A'/BOQ.
