Material and labour for earthing complete with galvanized steel earth plate electrode 600mm X 600mm X 6mm buried directly in ground vertically to a depth not less than 2.25 meter below normal ground level (with top edge of earth plate not less than 1.5 meter below ground level), connected to GI wire 4 mm dia main earthing lead by means of galvanized bolts, nuts and washers all as shown in electrical plate no 3 of MES Schedule Part-I (2009) with connected to earth test point & to main switch board etc with & including all necessary excavation and earth work, adequate quantity of charcoal dust and common salt alround earth plate, PCC 1:3:6 type C-1 using 20mm graded black trap/granite/Basalt stone aggregate for earth pit with pre cast RCC 1:2:4 type B-1 using 20mm graded black trap/granite/Basalt stone aggregate, 40mm thick cover reinforced with 8mm dia TMT bars 3 Nos both way with 08mm dia round bar handle, GI light grade watering pipe 20 mm dia with funnel and wire mesh, and 15mm dia GI light grade earth lead protection pipe complete all as specified and directed.

NOTE :- (i) The cost of earth lead and its protection pipe upto and including 7.5 m only from the top of earth electrode are deemed to be included under this item and additional earth lead & protection pipe, if any, required at site shall be measured and paid for separately under appropriate item of Schedule `A’. (ii) Any joints in earth lead from earth electrode to test point shall not be allowed / permitted.

Material & labour for extension of earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead, 4mm dia GI wire laid in pipe/fixed on walls or any other position, all as specified & directed.

Supply & fixing, light grade, 15mm dia GI water tubing with all fittings fixed on walls/ poles/ in trenches as in earth lead protection pipe all as specified & directed. Make :TATA / Jindal / TT Swastik.

PGI funnel and wire mesh 20 mm dia GI pipe medium grade for watering and 40mm dia medium earth lead protection pipe complete all as specified and directed. Note: GI earth strip and protection pipe upto and including 7.5m is deemed included in unit rate quoted by contractor.

S&F earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead 32x 6 mm GI strip laid in pipe / fixed to poles or any other indicated situation including jointing using by GI nuts, bolts and washer in addition to welding complete all as shwon in drawings, & all as specified and directed .

Taking down carefully existing unserviceable aluminum point wiring of any description & in any position with and including pvc/steel conduit all fitting, accessories & fixtures such as switches, ceiling roses, pendants, regulators, socket, light fittings call bell, lamp holders etc and making good the disturbed surface of walls, floors, ceiling etc to match with the existing surfaces complete all as directed. NOTE: Old fittings/fixtures/accessories like switch, sockets, lamp holders, regulators etc found in serviceable condition shall be removed carefully for reuse in the work and shall be paid for separately under appropriate item of Schedule `A’.

Material and labour for point wiring for one light point or one fan point controlled by one switch with using 1.5 Sqmm (nominal area) stranded copper conductor, single core, PVC insulated & unsheathed cable FR, 1100 volts grade in and including surface PVC conduit (Medium grade) of suitable size not less then 20 mm dia all as directed with using new sunken type pressed steel box/terminal boxes of suitable size, 2mm thick duly painted with one coat of red oxide primer and two coats of black bituminous paint for mounting fittings wiring accessories with and including all accessories and using 1.5 Sqmm (nominal area) stranded copper conductor single core conductor, PVC insulated & unsheathed cable FR as in earth wire connected to common earth dolly complete all as specified.

NOTE : (i) The portion of point wiring at ceiling shall be in surface conduit of suitable size fixed on ceiling surface with using PVC rawl plugs and provision of covering sunken boards/terminal boxes / junction boxes of any shape and size with 3mm thick laminated sheet fixed with suitable GI screws and cup washers) (ii) Fittings like switches, sockets, regulators, lamp holders, light fittings shall be measured and paid for separately under appropriate item of BOQ . Disconnecting of GI earthing strips/ earth wire leads of any size, any description and in any position from test point carefully and testing the earth resistance of any type of earthing with the help of earth tester of suitable capacity, making/ numbering of earthing and recording Ohm value in the resister and at site on wall near test point/ Earth Pit with paint as per performa approved by Engineer-in-Charge & reconnecting of GI earthing strip/ wire lead after test on original position complete all as specified and directed. Note:- (a) The contractor will arrrange earth tester, all T&P & accessories for recording the reading. (b) The contractor shall arrange for watering of the earth pit through watering pipe in the earthing to improve the resistance. The common salt minimum 10 Kg with potassium nitrate (KNO3)-02 Kg for each earthing pit shall be mixed with water at site and filled/ dropped in earthing through watering pipe as per site condition and as directed. The water for this purpose shall be made available by the Department at the nearest source available and contractor shall make their own arrangement from drawing water from the source.

(c) The records of resistance value of each earthing alongwith date of testing shall be maintained as per format approved by Engineer-in-Charge. (d) Testing of the earthing shall be carried out periodically as per site requirement and unit rates quoted by the contractor shall be deemed to include for all provisions for one time testing of the earthing.
