(b) Cutting & filling cracks:- Cutting of existing cracks in ' V- shape' groove (minmum 5cm) by use of diamond cutter to have perfect plane surface without breaking the edges, removing dust by power blower/ compressed air and removing rubbish material as directed by Engr-in-charge and filling the grooves with epoxy mortar or polyurethane sealant as per manufacturers instructions.
(c) Joint Filling : Racking out existing sealing compound completely from all existing joints (Constructions/Expansion/Dummy Joints) and cleaning the joints throughly by removing dust, dirt, loose and foreign material etc by appropriate hand tools and scrapping out joints, grinding or cutting the inner sides of joints by diamond cutter to have perfect plane sealent free surface without breaking the edges, removing dust by power blower/compressed air and removing rubbish out side MoD land and making good the existing demaged joints by using epoxy mortar. Once the preparation of all existing joints has been done as described above, applying a coat of epoxy primer on sides and bottom of joints and fill the joints with using polyuretheane sealent (single component) of approved make with colour matching to PU flooring compelte all as specified and as directed Note: When the depth of joints deeper, closed cell polythene back up rod of appropriate dia with 2mm debonding tap shall be inserted in joints as tight fitting seal as per direction of Engineer-in-charge so as to prevent over consumption of sealent. The unit rate quoted by the contractor is deemed to include supply and fixing of back up rod of appropriate dia with 2mm debonding tap as per required at stie.
(d) Primer: Providing and applying low viscous epoxy primer consisting of mixing of Resin and Hardner in a ratio as per manufacturer's instrutions to provide a DFT of 200 micron. Primer shall be allowed to cure as per manufacrure's instructions.
(e) Screed: Providing and applying self levelling screed (epoxy modified mortar) consisting of mixing of Resin, Hardner and aggregate in a ratio as per manufacturer's instructions to achieve desired thickness of 2700 microns. The layer is de-aerated by spike roller or by any means to dislodge air pockets. Screed layer shall be allowed to cure as per manufacturer instructions.
(f) Copper tape GRID : Providing and fixing of 100 microns thick, self adhesive (conductive grade) copper tape to ensure quick transfer of charge (Make: 3M or equivalent) including connecting copper wire / tape and earthing etc required to get the desired result. The spacing of copper tape Grid shall be approximately 5 m x 5m C/C both ways or as per manufacturer instructions. Any division in the floor by way of expansion joints is joined by copper tap along the sides of the expansion joints .
(g)Conductive primer: Providing and applying PU (polyurethane) based conductive coat consisting of mixing of Resin, Hardner in a ratio as per manufacturer's instructions to yield a DFT of 100 microns. Ensure that entire area is covered evenly. Allow the conductive primer for curing as per manufacturer instructions.
(h) Self leveling course of PU (polyurethane) top coat : Providing and applying PU based conductive self leveling top coat (It is a mixture of pre weighted pack (set) which is ready to use. it consist of Resin+Hardner+EPI (Pigment)+Formulated aggregatge+Carbon fiber) containing antistats to yield a thickness of 2000 microns and surfaces resistivity which will not exc 10⁹ Ohms. The cured surface shall be tested with Megohm meter as per ASTM F-150 to check the readings as per the design.
(j) Applicator : The entire work/ application shall be done through qualified applicators of manufacturer only. Make: CIPY /SIKA /BASF /ASIAN / APURVA NOTE: (i) Contractor will submit details of all epoxy, primer & PU with their make and manufacturers specifications for application to GE for approval before commencement.
