(i) Engine :-
(a) Diesel engine shall be turbo charged after colled multi-cylinder inline type with mechanical fuel injection system.
(b) The engine shall be enclosed in an enclosure to make it work silently (with permissible noice level as per CPCB norms) without any deradation in its performance. Coolant of 45 litres capacity.
(c) The fuel shall be used high speed diesel oil (HSD) as per IS 1460.
(d) Suction of air shall be from outdoor for ventilation and exhaust flue gasses shall be let out to outside atmosphere, condensate traps shall be provided on the exhaust pipe.
(e) Filter shall be dry type air filter with replaceable elements.
(f) The engine shall have closed loop lubricating system. No moving parts shall require lubrication by hand prior to the start of engine or while it is in operation.
(g) The engine shall be automatic electric starting by 12V DC starter motor system.
(h) The engine shall be fitted with electronic governor suitable for class A1 as per IS:10000.
(ii) Alternator :- Alternator with rated output of 40 KVA suitable for continuous operation at 1500 RPM developing 415 volts at 0.8 p.f (lag) suitable for 50 Hz, three phase, 4 wire system, insulation class 'H'. The alternator shall be brushless type drip proof, screen protected as per IP-23 self-excited & self-regulated. The alternator will be suitable for tropical climate and shall confirm to IS : 4722. The salient features of the alternator following types shall be as under :-
(a) +/- 1% voltage regulation in static conditions.
(b) IP 23 protection with class 'H' insulation. | 1 | Each | - | - |

(iii) Coupling & Mounting Arrangement :-
(a) The engine and alternator shall be directly coupled by means of self-aligning flexible flange coupling to avoid misalignment.
(b) The coupling shall be provided with protecting guard to avoid accidental contract.
(iv) Fuel Tank : The fuel tank of 100 litres capacity shall be provided with DG Set. The tank shall be completed with an outlet, a drain plug an air vent, an air breather and necessary piping. Fuel tank shall be inside the acoustic enclosure.
(v) Battery & Battery Charger : 1 No of 12 Volt batteries complete with all leads, terminals and stand shall be provided with DG set. Battery shall have sufficient cap to give 10 nos successive starting impulse to the engine.
(vi) Governing System : The engine shall be supplied electronic Governor as per IS 10000 /BS:5514. This governor shall be directly mounted on the engine to enable the speed variation from idling speed to the maximum load speed.
(vii) Sound Proof Enclosure : This is a special sheet metal fabricated on CNC machine and powder coated. The enclosure is designed for reducing the sound level to 75 dB (A) (average) all round in green field, as per IS : 8528 Part 10 as per approved CPCB IV+ Norms.
(viii) AMF Control Panel : Automatic mains failure (AMF) inbuilt type control panel shall be able to start up the DG Set and transfer the load on to the DG Set on main failure without requiring any human intervention including provision of bypass system in case of DG not work. Similarly on restoration of main supply it shall be able to transfer the DG Set automatically alongwith provision of by pass arrangements of main supply. The AMF panel shall have the following accessories : (a) Micro precessor based relay with composite meter for digital display (i) Generator voltage/AC main voltage (ii) Generator current (iii) Power factor (iv) Frequency (v) Energy (KWH) (vi) Three attempt engine start/Engine cranking relay (vii) On delay time for load change over (viii) On delay time for engine shut off (b) Mode selector for setting the panel on any one position such as "Off" or "Auto" or "Manual" or "Test" (c) Engine ON-OFF switch (push button type) (d) MCCB of suitable capacity FP suitable to alternator 415 volts - 01 Nos (e) Any other switch, instrument, relay or contactor etc. essential for smooth and trouble free functioning of DG set with AMF Panel. | - | - | - | - |
