Execution of Work to Repair Works to the Fort Museum, Fort St. George, Chennai for the year 2026-27

Carefully dismantling and removing the damaged / dead weathering course/plastering 20mm thick, bringing the debris from the terrace third floor to the ground floor and conveying the debris by head load from inside to outside monument above 150m and by lorry to a far away distance i.e.25Km due to Chennai City area there is no dumping yard, etc. complete

Carefully dismantling and removing the damaged flat tiles in two courses of the weathering course bringing the debris from the terrace third floor to the ground floor and conveying the debris by head load from inside to outside monument above 150m and by lorry to a far away distance i.e.25Km due to Chennai City area there is no dumping yard, etc. complete

Attending Surface treatment to the leaky roof by strengthening minor cracks with grouting Lime, filling Lime concrete using 20mm Brick Aggregate in pure lime with proper gradient and laying two courses of flat tiles of size 150mmx150mmx12mm set in Lime mortar 1:2 and top layer plastering with proper level in Lime mortar 1:2, 20mm thick, curing, consolidation, etc. complete.

Repairing the existing Sunshades with MS sheet with MS L angle frame by removing corroded portions, replacing damaged MS flats and riveted joints wherever required, treating rusted surfaces, repainting, and refixing the sheets in the original pattern, etc. complete.

Repairing damaged wooden doors and windows including shutters, frames, panels, fittings and other wooden members wherever required by replacing deteriorated portions, making good the surfaces, and finishing with necessary painting/polishing, complete.

Repairing the lean-to roof on the eastern side of the museum building by removing existing Mangalore pattern tiles, repairing/replacing damaged rafters, reapers and other timber members wherever necessary, and relaying the 60% of old tiles and 40% of new tiles together in the same traditional pattern including painting with two coats SE paint over a coat of primer and fixing Rain water Gutter using Zinc Sheet including all charges, etc. complete.

Providing and applying exterior grade emulsion paint to the outer walls of the museum building after proper cleaning, surface preparation, crack filling and primer application wherever required, complete.

Removing damaged interior wall plaster and providing new traditional lime plaster to the interior walls of the museum building including surface preparation, curing, finishing and all materials and labour, complete.

Providing lime wash to the interior walls of the museum building including thoroughly scrapping the surface preparation, applying wall care putty, scaffolding, curing and finishing, etc. complete.

Carefully removing the fallen/dead/damaged madras terrace roof and disposing the waste debris to a far off place as directed by the department officials time to time and the item including cost,conveyance of all materials, labour charges, loading and unloading charges, transportation charges etc., and other applicable taxes if any etc. complete.
