MAINTENANCE OF ROAD IN R-II SUB DIVISION, U.T. CHANDIGARH (PROVIDING AND APPLYING HOT THERMOPLASTIC COMPOUND AND COLD REFLECTIVE ROAD MARKING PAINT)

Providing and applying of hot thermoplastic compound 2.5mm thick for edge lines, centre lines, stop lines, zebra crossings, letters, numerals, diagonals and chembrons etc. including reflectorising glass beads @250gms. Per Sqm. Area, thickness of 2.5mm is exclusive of surface applied glass beads as per IRC:35. The finished surface to level, uniform and free from streks and holes. The thermoplastic compound shall be screeded/extruded on the surface in moltan state by suitable machine capable of controlled preparation and laying of surface application of glass beads at a specific rate. The marking should be capable of resisting deformation by traffic, it should not be slippery when wet and marking shall not deteriorate by contact with sodium chloride, Calcium chloride or oil dropping from traffic. The material shall be free from all skin, dirt and foreign objects and shall comply as per table 800-9 and 800-10 complete in all respect as per Clause 803.4.1 of MORT&H specification (5th revision) and to the entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-Charge. Providing and laying of cold applied reflective road marking paint as per IRC 35 using water based road marking material having non-volatile matter contents by weight shall be a minimum of 65%, drop-on glass beads @ 300 grams per square metre with glass beads dispenser, to achieve a DFT of 300 microns, Using automatic airless spray equipment, spray tips and between 2000 and 2500 psi (138 to 172 bar) pressure. The proportion of constituents of paint shall be as per Table 800-11 and gradation requirement for glass beads shall be as per Table 800-12 complete in all respect as per MORT&H specification (5th revision) and to the entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-Charge.
