M&L for carrying out physical inspection and measurement of individual earth pit resistance of each earth pit, every month located at MES Installations and maintain the record of its reading month wise and submit to this office duly signed by user,s with satisfactory working remarks as a token of acknowledgement to office monthly for measuring the resistance of individual electrode of LV distribution system and other non-DG/ Transformer by fall of potential test in case fall of potential method is not possible at certain locations then measurement of earth pit resistance shall be carried out in stake less method using current and voltage clamps.(Total earthing not less than 100 ) Nos earth pit located in different area of this station shall be measured in each month or all as directed. Pit for measurement of pit resistance including necessary excavation in any type of soil, or braking of hardstanding for inserting of spikes complete all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. The rate also include to inspect and measure resistance of any type of earth( like conventional or chemical, strip or wire any size) complete. Note-(i) Minimum 22 Earthings per working day and 100 % within a month to be cheked and testing will be carried out, testing equipment should be calibrated and certified from appropriate Govt Authority. Testing of earth resistance should be carried out in presense of the users and record should be furnished to the AGE E/M Office on daily basis, Failing which a recovery @ Rs 500 per eathing per day will be recovered as penalty.

Repair of old earthing for improvement of earth resistance by removing of old pit Chemeber from existing site , disconnecting all earth electrode of any type and size excavated the pit and removing old existing earth plate any type (BY ECAVATION OF 3.25mete deep ), cleaning the same and burried directly in ground with new bolts,nuts ,washer and check nut of galvanized steel,filling adequate quantity of charcol and common salt in alternate layer of 15cm 3ft x 3ft thick all around the electrode and including necessery excavation & earth work in any type of soil complete testing on completion all as directed. To achieve results less than 1 ohm contractor wil provide gridding of earth pits as per soil resistivity test report ( but not more than 4 earth pit). Artificial treatment of 12.5 Kg earthon compound per 2 meter as per dwawing attached and excutation and chemical required in area of gridding shall be included in rates quoted by contractor. (3) copper strip required for inter connection of gridding of earth pit shall be paid separtely. (4). Total 30 nos of earth pits of above specification to be executed at site. However gridding wilbe decided as per requirement of earth result and as soil resistivity report. (5) Copper strip of gridding shall be placed under groun level with the depth of 400 to 600 mm with the treatrent of earthcon complound and alluvial soil as drawing.(6). removal of grabbles and stone and add some quantity of earth enhancement material in the soil using a black fill compound and make layer of blach siol / garden soil/ alluvial soil, terrace, compound and earthcon compound repeat tye same procedure around the 76 mm electrode pipe as per drawing. (7).Compound shall be suplied in sealed bags. The earth electrode should finally be housed in heavy duty chamber with cover of suitable size as per OEM recommendation Ground Enhancing compound and Back-fill compound should be enviroment freindly, , ionic property to create ions for easy conduction , the compound should expand so much to remove entrapped air ( bad conductor electricity ) and to creat strong conduction between electrode and soil, the compound should have a property to assist in absorbing humidity from the neightboringsoil to keep the earth pit moisture .
