JOB ORDER FOR SOIL INVESTIGATION DEMOLITION OF CERTAIN BLDGS AND CONSTRUCTION OF INTEGRATED HQ OPS COMPLEX OF PTS AT AF STN AGRA

Conducting soil investigation test at site as per relevant specification of IS-2131, IS-6403, IS-1498 & IS-2720 and submit the report as per following :-

(A) Drilling of 150 mm diameter bore hole in all types of soils as per depth indicated below or refusal strata which ever is earlier as per instruction of the Eng-in-charge. Refusal defined as and when 'N' value is 100 or more for 30 cm or part penetration.

(a) Conducting standard penetration test (SPT) in the bore holes at 1.00 m intervals in depth or every change of strata which ever is earlier as per IS:2131-1981 or Conducting Dynamic cone penetration test (DCPT) in the bore holes at 1.00 m intervals in depth or every change of strata which ever is earlier as per IS:10042-1981 (Applicable for gravel, boulder deposit type of soil) (i) No. of bore holes = 05 Nos (ii) Depth of bore hole = 10 m

(b) Collecting disturbed soil sample from the location of conducting SPT/DCPT

(c) Collecting undisturbed soil samples at 1.50 m intervals or change of strata whichever occurs earlier.

(d) Analysis of liquefaction potential for earthquake as per Zone-IV of IS:1893-2016 (Part-1)

(e) Recording the ground water table if observed upto exploration depth, as per IS:6395-1973

(f) Conducting all necessary laboratory tests on samples collected for their different engineering properties. Following test will be carried out :- (i) Dry density and moisture content as per IS:2720 Part-2 & 29 (ii) Atterberg's limit as per IS:2720 Part-5-1985 (iii) Particle size analysis as per IS:2720 Part-4-1985 & IS for Classification of soil (iv) Specific gravity as per IS:2720 Part-3 Sec-2-1980 (v) Consolidation test as per IS:2720 Part-15-1986 and Compression value index (vi) Free swell and Swell pressure test as per IS:2720 Part-40-1977, Part-41-1977 (vii) Bulk density (viii) Organic matter in soil if any (ix) Triaxial compression test and determination of (C & ɸ value) shear parameters as per relevant IS (x) Harmful Salt

(B) Submission of six copies of ink signed test reports. The report should include the following :-

(a) Detailed description of field investigation, soil classification and general nature of soil strata, water table, interpretation of test results, grain size distribution curves, compressive index curves, site plan etc, stress-strain modulus (by stress-strain curves from triaxial tests), foundation analysis & recommendations with supporting calculations regarding foundation system, depth of foundation.

(b) The SBC of the soil is required to be given as per following table, calculation of bearing capacity will be governed generally as per IS:8009 Part-1-1976, IS:2720 Part-2-1980, IS:6403-1980, IS:1904-1986 & IS:1080-1985 and other relevant IS codes and detailed calculations duly showing the various soil parameters/indices shall be given in the soil report :- Depth of I Safe bearing capacity of soil in T/M2 for footing size I Remarks foundation Strip footing |1.2m x1.2m |1.5m x 1.5m |2.m x2m |2.5m x 2.5m 1.0m 1.5m 2.0m 2.5m

(c) Plotting of a compiled sub-surface profile along the depth in both plan directions.

(d) Photographic record of geo-explorations as well as testing shall also form part of the report

(e) Every page of the Soil Investigation Report should have the Name of the Job for which Soil Investigation is being carried out. In case of multiple sites of a single Job are being investigated name of each site shall be put on each page of report pertaining to the site.

(f) The GE shall intimate the approximate type of construction, utilization and dimensions of proposed bldgs to the consultant, who based on geotechnical investigation, should recommend type of foundation (viz isolated/combined footing, raft, pile etc)

(g) In case of underground building basement construction, or if requirement of temporary/permanent deep excavation support measures during construction of building are envisaged necessary excavation support measures to be given by the consultant based on geotechnical investigations

(C) Transportation of equipment/ mobilization/ Dematerialization of equipment etc for soil investigation.

Note : Soil investigation for ordinary rock or hard rock type soil shall be done as specified in IS:12070-1987 Table-I.
