Supply Installation Testing and Commissioning of 500 kVA DG SET at ICSR Substation inside IIT Madras Premises

Providing , installing Testing and commissioning of Silent Type Generating set in an acoustic enclosure along with having prime power rating of 500 kVA 415 volts at 1500 RPM, 0.8 lagging power factor at 415 volts suitable for 50 Hz, 3 phase system & for 0.85 load factor and consisting of the the following:

a) Diesel Engine:

Diesel engine 4 stroke, radiator water cooled, electric start with delivering of 587 BHP at 1500 RPM or as recommended by OEM r at 40 degree C, 50 % RH & at 1000 meter MSL and confirming to BS 5514, BS 649, IS 10000,Capable of taking 10 % over loading for one hour after 12 hours of continuous operation. The engine will be fitted complete with all accessories.

b) Engine mounted instrument panel fitted with and having digital display for following:

i) Start-stop switch with key

ii) water temperature indication

iii) Lubrication oil pressure indication

iv) Lubrication oil temperature indication

v) Battery charging indication

vi) RPM indication

vii) Over speed indication

viii) Low lub.Oil trip indication

ix) Engine Hours indication

C) Alternator:

Synchronous alternator rated at 500 KVA, 415volts at 1500 RPM, 3phase 50Hz, AC supply with 0.8 lagging power factor at 40 degree C, 50% RH & at 1000 Meter MSL.The alternator shall be having SPDP enclosure, brushless, continuous duty, self-excited and self-regulated through AVR conforming to IS: 4722/BS 2613 suitable for tropical conditions and with class F/H insulation.

d) Base Frame & Foundation:

Both the engine and the alternator shall be mounted on suitable base frame made of MS channel. The work will be including necessary reinforcement which shall be installed on suitable cement concrete foundation and vibration isolation arrangement as per recommendation of manufacturer.

e) Fuel Tank:

Daily service built in fuel tank of suitable capacity fabricated out of 3mm thick M.S. sheet complete with all standard accessories and fuel piping between fuel tank and diesel engine with MS class 'C' pipes of suitable dia. Complete with valves, level indications & accessories as required as per specifications.

f) Exhaust System:

Dry exhaust mainfold with hospital exhaust silencer and cayalytic convertor.

g) Starting system:

24V DC starting system comprising of starter motors: voltage regulator and arrangement for initial excitation complete with suitable nos. of batteries (25 plates, 180 Amp. Hour capacity lead acid type) as required as per specification.

h) Accoustic and weather proof enclosure with arrangement for fresh air intake for cooling of the engine & alternator, extraction, discharging hot air in to the atmosphere as per specifications. The rate should be inclusive of civil foundation as per OEM, frieght charges, loading and unloading of DG set at factory & site and transportation charges,

Supplying and making end termination with compression brass cable gland and aluminium/copper lugs for the following size of the PVC/XLPE aluminium/copper conductor UG cable 1.1 kV grade as required.(Rate is inclusive of removing of existing cable and re-termination of cable after installaion of new DG)

3.5 core 400 sq.mm XLPE aluminium conductor armoured UG cable.

10 core 2.5 sq.mm copper conductor pvc insulated armoured UG cable

Earthing with copper earth plate 600 x 600 x 3 mm thick including accessories providing masondry enclosure with cover plate having locking arrangements and watering pipe 2.7 metres long etc with charcoal or coke and salt) complete as required.

Providing and fixing 25 x 5mm thick GI strip on surface or in recess or 0.50 meters below ground etc as required.

Providing and fixing 50x10 mm thick GI strip (hot dipped) on surface or in recess or 0.50 meters below ground etc as required.

Obtaining Safety Lisence for the new 500kVA DG set by submitting necessary as built drawings to CEA after completion of all works.

Removing of old 500kVA DG complete set including Acoustic enclosure, Power & control cables, fuel line and fuel tank etc.on buy back option. The rates quoted will be treated in negative value for buy back cost
