| 5.00Notes for BOQ item 4 above :- (a) Installation of earthing shall be carried out by the manufacturer/company’s authorised engineer, from a company approved by GE, at site. The cost of installation, supervision and commissioning shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate. Nothing extra shall be paid on this account. (b) Testing shall be carried out by the authorised representative of the manufacturer/company in the presence of the Engineer-in-Charge. The earth resistance value shall not exceed 1 Ohm. The contractor shall make all necessary arrangements for testing of earthing, including providing required instruments, accessories and labour, as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Test result will be recorded in a register and signed by all concern. (c) The contractor shall submit a five-year guarantee certificate from the manufacturer/company after the certified date of completion of the work for maintaining earth result less than 1 ohm. Obtaining and submission of the said guarantee certificate shall be the responsibility of the contractor. Security deposit on account of this guarantee shall be withheld from the contractor’s payments during the guarantee period, i.e., 10% of the quoted rate for a period up to five years. This security deposit shall be refunded to the contractor after expiry of the guarantee period, provided the system has performed satisfactorily. Alternatively, the contractor may submit a separate interest-bearing Term Deposit Receipt (TDR) in favour of GE for the above amount, valid for the entire guarantee period. (d) Additional earth enhancing compound, if required to achieve earth resistance not exceeding 1 Ohm, shall be provided by the contractor and the cost of the same shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate. No extra payment shall be made on this account. (e) Cost of earthwork and necessary PCC work for fixing earthing pit shall deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate. (f) Purchase voucher of earthing will be produced before payment. Payment shall be made only after getting satisfactory result. (g) Test point shall be measured & paid separately under appropriate item of this BOQ. | |||||
