Brief features/ specifications of copper bound steel erath rod are as follows:-
(a) The outer surface must be molecularly bonded with uniform layer of 250 micron Copper, 99.9% pure electrolytic copper coating.
(b) Nickel interface shall be provided between the copper and steel to avoid the galvanic corrosion.
(c) Rod shall be capable of withstanding fusing current of 20 KA @ 1 Sec.
(d) Earth rod must be in compliance with IEC 62305- 2, NBC 2010 and IEEE 80. Rod shall be tested as per IEC 62561- 2 standard.
(e) Tensile strength shall be greater than 80000 PSI on 12 mm.
(f) Rod shall have High resistance to corrosion.

| 10.00 | Cutting grass, bushes, creepers, weeds, unwanted plants/ growths etc., in and around the substation, panel board, generator or any other locations as decided and removing rubbish off the premises and deposited to a place directed by Engineer-in-charge complete all as specified and directed.
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR SER ITEM NOs 1 To 9
(a) The complete work of the Earthing system shall be got done from the OEM or their authorized sister concern/ channel partner only. The contractor shall submit performance guarantee Certificate/bond from the OEM on completion of work as per PS clause No.7.
(b) Design/ Drawing/ BOM/ Technical Specifications of the complete earthing system showing the layout including dimensions is to be obtained from OEM strictly keeping in view the actual ground requirements & the same is to be got approved from Engr-in-Charge before placing final order to the OEM.
(c) Any items missed out in the technical specification, but technically required for efficient performance of the chemical earthing system shall be deemed to be included in the unit quote rates quoted and decision of the Accepting officer will be final and binding.
(d) The contractor/firm is required to visit the site prior to quoting of the subject items/ work so as to ascertain the actual ground requirement incl soil resistivity tests etc. Any further query at a later date shall not be acceptable & responsibility of the same shall rest on the contractor/ firm.
(e) Any of the makes specified in Particular Specification clause No.5.2(a) to 5(j) or approved makes by HQ E-in-C’s Br/ CESC Pune / ADG (P) Chennai or other CEs Command only will be permitted to incorporate in the work.
(f) The cost of making good the disturbed surfaces (Substation yard Stones and gravels , Walls, Pavement etc) is deemed to be included in the unit quoted rate of relevant items.
(g) On testing, if the desired earth resistance is not found according to the relevant Indian standards it is to be redone to the entire satisfaction of Engr-In-Charge without any extra cost to the Govt., after completion of work contractor shall submit a detailed Report of Earth resistance test results from OEM and same is to be certified from Engr-in-Charge & GE and testing as per PS clause No.6 & its sub para are also mandatorly carried out and report shall be submitted time bound.
(h) Repair/ Preventive maintenance of the complete earthing system is to be got done from the OEM/ Sister Concern/ Channel partner only by the contractor for the entire defect liability period i.e two years from the certified date of completion & the cost of the same is deemed to be included in the unit quote rates.
(j) If any damage to any electrical/ communication cables or to any pipe lines or any other installations occurs during execution of the work then the same shall be made good by the Contractor to the entire satisfaction of the concerned & the cost of the same is deemed to be included in the unit quoted rates.
(k) Testing as per PS clause No.6.4 for the entire earthing system is to be got done from the OEM/ Sister Concern/ Channel Partner only by the contractor & report submitted accordingly to the Engr-in-Charge for the entire defect liability period & and the cost of the same is deemed to be included in the unit quote rates.
(l) Purchase Vouchers & Manufacturers test certificates to be submitted in original to the Engr-in-Charge for verification and record.
