1 General Automated, quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) system based on a quadrupole mass filter. Should be capable of measuring major, minor, trace and ultra-trace levels (ppt to per cent) multi elemental analysis in samples such as water, Agri-food commodities, soil, fertilizers, etc., in compliance with national and international regulatory requirements.

2 Sample Introduction System: Standard single piece quartz torch with wide diameter; min 2.5 mm or suitable for matrix decomposition and sample ionization.

Spray Chamber: Temperature controlled Spray-chamber with capability for faster temperature equilibration and extended temperature range (-5 0C to 20 0C) or suitable range.

Nebulizers: Micro Mist/ Glass concentric nebulizer.

Suitable instrument setup to cover TDS range up to 25% of water or any other samples

3 Ion Source: RF generator of power of 500-1500 W output or suitable range as per system requirement for cool and hot plasma and minimum frequency of 27 MHz or more

4 Extraction Interface: Suitable Nickel sampler cone with suitable diameter orifice and nickel skimmer cones with suitable diameter orifice with three additional sets of nickel sampler and skimmer cones.

Sample and skimmer cones should be easily mountable and dismountable.

The system should not require changing any hardware in the interface/cones to determine trace level concentration of elements in high matrix samples at the same time.

5 Cooling System: Re-circulating chiller should be provided

6 Vacuum System: Should have rotary pump and turbo molecular pump with split flow for extremely high vacuum throughput. Facility to maintain vacuum as per system hardware requirement

7 Mass Analyzer System: 2.0MHz or more to provide superior ion transmission, resolution and abundance sensitivity.

The analyzer quadrupole should discretely control the resolution of the selected mass region.

Mass Range: The entire mass range in-between 260 amu or suitable range to covers all elements as per all national and international regulatory compliance & IUPAC.

Mass Stability: 0.1 amu/8hrs or better.

Scan Speed: >3000amu/sec or better Li to U in 10 intervening masses

8 Gas Flow Control System: The gas flow control system should be of microprocessor-based precision electronic mass flow controller or electronic flow controller for all the gas channels (minimum 4 nos.) such as plasma, Auxiliary, Nebulizer and additional gas channels.

Vendor must provide collision and reaction gas as per system hardware requirement to comply all national and international regulations of water samples.

The gas flow control system should have computer-controlled safety interlocks and automatic gas flow controls for startup and shutdown operation.

9 Detector System: The ion detector should be a discrete Dynode electron multiplier unit or equivalent. Detector should be able to analyze high and low concentration of elements simultaneously with 10 or more true linear dynamic range.

Both the analog and pulse counting modes should be protected against overload. Minimum dwell time & integration time should be ≤5ms or better.

10 Interference Removal System: System should be able to run in standard Collision and reaction mode as per national & internal regulatory and IUPAC guidelines

Separate gas channel for collision and reaction gas as per system hardware requirements to comply all national & international water guidelines (i.e.H2/O2 etc))

12 Instrument Control and Data Acquisition & Processing: Suitable interface should be provided for operation and data acquisition.

14 System control and data acquisition: The system should perform auto optimization of plasma parameters like plasma power, plasma gas flow, etc. The instrument software shall allow auto - tuning to enable the instrument to be used with the consistent and reproducible day-to-day performance independent of the operator.

22 Method Validation Method validation for trace-level metal analysis in Agri-food commodity samples, as mutually agreed, in accordance with national and international requirements.

1. Manpower (operator): The supplier of the equipment shall depute Scientific/Technical staff after installation (Minimum Science Post-Graduate with 6 months experience on the similar equipment) for one (01) year to make the system operational and carry out validations.

2. The consumables (chemicals, plastic/glassware, reference material-NIST/ISO-17034, etc.) required for method validation shall be in the scope of supplier/vendor and shall be supplied before the commencement of method validation, keeping in view their expiry period

3. The method validation activity shall have to be completed on the system installed at PRTL, Jalandhar within six (06) months of successful installation & commissioning of instrument, failing which LD/Penalty clause of Tender Document will be applicable

24. Optional Items

24.1 Micropipettes Micropipette set with variable volume, comprising pipettes of 10 µL–100 µL, 100 µL–1000 µL, 1–5 mL, and 1–10 mL capacity, two (02) numbers of each. Each pipette shall be supplied with 500 disposable tips per size, along with a pipette stand and calibration certificates.

24.2 Temperature-Controlled Storage Unit (01) number temperature-controlled storage unit with a minimum capacity of 1000 L, suitable for safe storage of samples, with digital temperature display, uniform cooling with glass door.

4. This is to certify that the rates quoted above are not more than the rates charged from any Institution/Department/Organization

5. Keeping in view the availability of Funds, optional items can be included in purchase order.

6. Financial Comparison shall be carried out based upon the FOR value of the equipment including the cost of Extended Warranty for six (06) years after expiry of Standard Warranty and optional items & other obligations.
