The tree guard is a Pipe covered with a fabric sleeve and is capped with an expandable rubber seal at one end to hold water in the pipe. Above the rubber seal two grommets are fitted into the pipe through which two hose pipes are connected. Each hose pipe is fitted with a wick at the other end and is placed in the soil so that water slowly percolates nearer to the root zone of the plant sapling.
