Remove cover and loose concrete from main reinforcement using wooden mallets/ wire brush/ water jet to complete expose the reinforcement in the distressed portion of column, beam, bracings, shade, chajja etc at any height complete all as specified and directed. Note: All loose unsound and cracked concrete should be removed.

Remove rust from reinforcement completely by rubbing with wire brush or sand paper and applying rust remover chemical such as “Deruster” by approved make of Reebaktens RR Fosroc or equivalent as approved and removing non metal complex compound formed due to corrosion of rust at any height complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for priming the reinforcement bars old and new with a coat of Nitco zinc primer of Fosroc or equivalent make as approved by GE for old and new reinforcement at any height (dia of bars 8mm to 20mm) complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour deformed bars 10mm dia and over cut to length bent to shape and welded to the existing reinforcement as additional bars to location (where original cross section of area of existing bars has reduced by more than 20%) welding has to be done with minimum 20cm over lap for new and old bars at any height complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for applying 1st bond coat (epoxy based) using brush and applying Polymer concrete (not less than 20mm thick) in the proportion of 1:3:1 (one part of cement, 3 part of coarse sand and 1 part of 10 mm and down stone aggregate) using 8-10 kg of acrylic base polymer of Fosroc or equivalent make as approved by GE per 50 kg bag of cement at any height, all as per manufacturer’s instructions complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for applying 2nd bond coat (epoxy based) using brush and applying Polymer concrete (not less than 20mm thick) in the proportion of 1:3:1 (one part of cement, 3 part of coarse sand and 1 part of 10 mm and down stone aggregate) using 8-10 kg of acrylic base polymer of Fosroc or equivalent make as approved by GE per 50 kg bag of cement at any height, all as per manufacturer’s instructions complete all as specified and directed.
