RFQ 9487 Contract for making new Earth pits, and miscellaneous jobs in overhead lines at KCM

Earthing electrode shall consist of a GI pipe (class B of approved make), not less than 65 mm dia. and 3 meters long. GI pipe electrode shall be cut tapered at the bottom and provided with holes of 12 mm dia. drilled at 75 mm interval up to 2.5 meters length from bottom. The electrode shall be buried vertically in the ground as far as practicable below permanent moisture level, but in any case not less than 3 meters below ground level. The electrode shall be in one piece and no joints shall be allowed in the electrode. As per detail mentioned in scope of work, masonry enclosure on the top i.e as per CPWD code of practice .

Excavation of old pits of size 1 mtr x 1 mtr x 3.5 mtr deep as per instruction of Engineer in charge including back filling with available excavated earth free from sharp edged stones and ramming as required in ordinary soil.

Back filling from 150mm layer of salt and charcoal powder up to 2.5 meter around the pipe electrode shall be installed buried below permanent moisture level not less than meter.. Alternate layer 150mm layer of salt and charcoal powder shall be used. At least 120Kg of salt and 120Kg of charcoal powder shall be used in each earth pit.

Supplying and erection of galvanized stay set for 11 KV over head lines complete with 19/ 20 mm dia X 1.8 metres long stay rod, anchor plate of size 45 cm X 45 cm X 7.5 mm thick, thimble, stay clamps, turn buckle ( 20 mm X 600 mm ), 7/ 4.00 mm dia G.I.stay wire and 11 KV strain insulator etc in approx.0.5 cu.m. cement concrete 1:3:6 (1 cement : 3 coarse sand :6 graded stone aggregate 40 mm nominal size ) foundation including excavation and refilling etc. as required
