PROVISION OF MAINTENANCE FREE EARTHING INFRASTRUCTURE FOR EQUIPMENT, POWER SUPPLY AND LIGHTENING ARRESTER AT VARIOUS BUILDINGS AT AFS YELAHANKA BANGALORE

Soil Resistivity Test in 8 Directions at various location within the 25mtr radius complete all as following general condition included in the quoted rates of items. Note:- General condition (i) Field audit Team to be deployed at site will abserve the safety rules prescribed as per testing regulations. (ii) Safety procedure ot any other action/ precaution such as health check up to be under taken by the firm before commencing the work in the area. (iii) The results of detailed study/ analysis and report shall furnish all relevant & required data and drawings in Auto CAD format (Hard Copy). (iv) Labour charge for disconnecting/ Connecting of earth strip from/ to the earth electrode and required any hardware such as bolts, nuts etc for breaking of concrete or any other civil required to drive the spike/ probes during testing shall be included in quoted rates of items.

Material and labour for corrosion resistant earthing system complete comprising of the following items:- (a) 17.2 mm dia, 3mtr length, Low carbon steel earth electrode with minimum 250 micron copper bonding certified by CPRI. (Copy of CPRI certificate to be submitted. (Dia of the rod & control number allotted to the manufacturer should be embossed on the rod and certificate from the same manufacturer shall be submitted along with the material.) (b) 25 kgs of earth enhancement material, environment friendly backfill compound. (c) Suitable clamp, 17.2 minimum outer dia SS clamp both side. (d) Rust & weather proof heavy duty FRP earth pit chamber with dimensions 254 mm dia (top), 330 mm dia (bottom) & 260 mm (height). (e) Exothermic welded joints (f) Provision of one copper bus bar near tapping point for connection complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge. Make : CAPE/JEF/ ABB Furse. Note 1: The earthing description as mentioned above shall be read and followed strictly complete as per IS 3043 Code of practice for earthing. Note 2: Back-fill earthing enhancing compound should have a resistivity of less than 0.12 Ohm Mtr, should be electronically conductive (Like in metals) and should not depend on moisture for conduction and to be in dry form. Note 3: The material for earth enhancement material shall comply with clause 8.4.2 of National Building Code (NBC). Note 4: Back-fill compound should solidify when mixed with water, set like concrete and should not leach any chemicals into the ground. Note 5: Backfill compound shall be suitable to be used in either slurry or dry form and shall not be mixed with any soil / cement etc while pouring in the bore hole as per Clause 13.8 of IS 3043 Artificial treatment of soil so that it improves conductivity of the earth electrode and ground contact area.

Note 6: Backfill compound shall be tested as per IEC : 62561-7 and the test certificates ( Corrosion Test, Leach Test, Sulphur Test & Resistivity Test) to be submitted. Note 7: Backfill compound shall not depend on the continuous presence of water / moisture / salt to maintain its conductivity and shall not decompose or leach out with time. Note 8: Back fill compound shall contain a corrosion inhibitor to mitigate corrosion of copper and shall not contain hazardous chemicals. Necessary test certificate from NABL accredited Lab shall be furnished. Note 9: Backfill compound shall not be affected by drought, to be stable, suitable for any kind of soil and shall be stable between -100 C to 500 C temperature. Note 10: Backfill compound shall be supplied in sealed, moisture proof bags. These bags shall be marked with Manufacturer’s name or trade name, quantity, batch no & date of manufacture. Note 11: The earthing value should be constant upto 15 years from the date of installation. Certificate for the same to be obtained by the contractor from OEM and submitted to Engr-in-Charge before completion of work. Note 12: In case the value are not found within limit, i.e. 01 Ohm the same to be rectified by the contractor free of cost till 15 years. Important Note: Certain compounds dependent on moisture for their performance and needing water to obtain & maintain its beneficial characteristics shouldn’t be used as a back-fill material as it may not function well in dry environment.

Test Certificates : the following test certificates shall be submitted to Engineer-in- Charge prior to supply of materials:- (i) Certificate for the copper bonded electorde along with control number duly certified by CPRI. (ii) Short circuit withstanding capacity of the copper bonded rod from an independent laboratory (NABL Accredited Laboratory). (iii) Corrosion test certificate for the backfill compound from an independent laboratory (NABL Accredited Laboratory). (iv) Leach test certificate for the backfill compound from an independent laboratory (NABL Accredited Laboratory). (v) Sulphur test certificate for the backfill compound from an independent laboratory (NABL Accredited Laboratory). (vi) Resistivity test certificate for the backfill compound from an independent laboratory (NABL Accredited Laboratory).

Supply and installation of 10 mm dia copper bonded round steel solid conductor for ring earthing to meet the requirements as per IS. Make: CAPE/JEF/ABB Furse.

Supply of exothermic welded joint for ring earthing to meet the requirements as per IS Make: CAPE/JEF/ABB Furse.

Supply and fix Cable with copper conductor size 16 Sqmm PVC round sheathed (flexible) industrial cable single core green colour as earth continuity conductor suitable to connect with item No 3 above with suitable copper lugs and accessories complete all specified and as directed by Engr-in- Charge.
