The work shall be executed using a cold milling machine such as Wirtgen W100H or equivalent, having a minimum milling width of 1 meter and a capacity of at least 100 HP, capable of achieving the desired depth in a single pass. The milled surface shall be uniform, free from loose material, and prepared for subsequent works. Milled material shall be collected and loaded into suitable transport vehicles immediately to prevent site obstruction. The quoted rate shall include all costs necessary to complete the work but not limited to the cost of equipment mobilization, milling, collection, loading, fuel, tools, labor, and traffic safety arrangements. 2 Tack Coat on Bituminous Surfaces Scope of Work: Providing and applying tack coat using bitumen emulsion on a prepared bituminous surface to ensure effective bonding with the overlying bituminous layer. Execution Requirements: 1) Clean the bituminous surface using a mechanical broom to remove dust and debris. 2) Use RS-1 grade bitumen emulsion conforming to IS:8887. 3) Apply uniformly at a rate of 0.20 to 0.30 kg/sqm using a bitumen pressure distributor. 4) Maintain spray temperature for Bitumious emulsion around 20°C to 70°C, and for CutBack 50°C to 80°C for best results. 5) Avoid overlapping, streaking, or excess pooling; ensure full surface coverage. Rate Inclusions: Rate includes Bitumen emulsion, labour, cleaning, spraying equipment, fuel, PPE, traffic control, Safety compliance and all incidental works. 3 Bituminous Concrete – Grading -II (VG-40, 5.4%) Scope of Work: Providing and laying Bituminous Concrete (BC) with Grading II aggregate using higher capacity batch type hot mix plant, premixed with VG-40 bitumen @ 5.4% by weight of total mix and filler, including transportation, laying by hydrostatic sensor paver, and compaction with rollers as per MoRTH Clause 507. Execution Requirements: 1) Prepare mix with VG-40 binder @ 5.2%, Grading 2 aggregates, and filler in HMP. 2) Maintain mix temp 160–170°C, laying temp ≥150°C, rolling temp ≥100°C. 3) Lay mix using sensor paver to desired camber, grade, and level. 4) Compact with smooth, vibratory, and tandem rollers to achieve ≥92% lab density. 2 Tack Coat-The work involves the application of a tack coat to prepare the surface for the next layer of bituminous material. The existing road surface shall be thoroughly cleaned to remove dust, debris, and loose material before the tack coat is applied. Bitumen (IS 73: 2013) shall be heated and sprayed evenly at a rate of 0.25 to 0.3 kg per sqm using a mechanical sprayer, in accordance with MoRTH Section 503. The contractor shall ensure that the tack coat is applied evenly and allowed to cure before the next layer is laid. The quoted rate shall include all costs necessary to complete the work, but not limited to the cost of bitumen, application equipment, labor for surface preparation and tack coat application, and any other resources necessary for the proper execution of the work. 3 Construction of Subgrade and Earthen Shoulders Construction of subgrade and earthen shoulders with approved material obtained from borrow pits, transported with all lifts and leads, including royalty, and spread in uniform layers of not more than 250 mm thickness. The material shall meet the quality requirements specified in MoRTH Clause 305, ensuring compliance with gradation, plasticity, and moisture content parameters. Compaction of the subgrade shall achieve a minimum of 97% of Maximum Dry Density (MDD) as per IS 2720 (Part 8), and the earthen shoulders shall be compacted to 95% MDD using mechanical equipment. Grading shall be performed to ensure the required slope, alignment, and stability, with final finishing to the levels specified in the approved drawings. The work includes surface dressing, preparation of shoulders for proper drainage, and all necessary field and laboratory tests, such as field density and moisture content tests, to verify compliance with Table 300-2 of MoRTH specifications. 4 Construction of Granular Sub-Base (Grade IV Material) Construction of granular sub-base by providing approved Grade IV material conforming to MoRTH Clause 401 and Table 400-1, with material sourced as per project specifications, including all royalty charges and transportation. The material shall be laid in uniform layers not exceeding 200 mm thickness, using a motor grader with a minimum blade length of 3.05 m and GPS control for precise alignment. Surface preparation, including cleaning and leveling, shall be ensured before placement. Mixing shall be done by an appropriate mechanical mixer with controlled water addition to achieve optimum moisture content. Compaction shall be performed using a vibratory roller of at least 8-10 tonnes to achieve a minimum of 98% Maximum Dry Density (MDD) as determined by IS 2720 (Part 8).
