Tightening of Nut Bolts including replacement of damaged missing nuts bolts and tower members and strengthening of column bases of 40 meter GBT at Peerjhalara and 60 meter GBT at Badnagar under BA Ujjain

Checking, Maintenace and Repair of all Components of tower as per approved drawing in all respect and as per the directions of Engineer-in-charge as follows: (a) Checking the connection of tower members and tightening of loose nuts and bolts using torque wrench. Any spare hole shall be filled with bolts and nuts of appropriate size. (Supply of the new nut bolts, washers shall be paid under the relevent item seperately while the other consumables are to be arranged by the contractor at his cost). (b) Replacing the distorted, bent, corroded members and worn out bolts and nuts.(Supply of the new GI members, nut bolts, washers shall be paid under the relevent item seprataly while the other consumables are to be arranged by the contractor at his cost). (c) Providing and fixing the missing members, nuts, bolts and spring washers.supply of the new GI members, nut bolts, washers shall be paid under the relevent item seprataly while the other consumables are to be arranged by the contractor at his cost). (d) Maintenance of ladder and its safety rings, climbing facilities, platforms and its handrail catwalks and antenna fixing mounts including tightening of nuts and bolts to make it secure and safe. (e) Checking the base plate against corrosion and tightening of the base plate fixtures with tower main leg including nuts and check nuts. (f) Maintenance of proper drainage in and around the foundation including removal of unwanted vegetation growths all complete as per the direction of Engineer- in-Charge. (g) Check the verticality of tower using theodolite as per provision prescribed in IS 12843 1989. The tower alignment to be checked with theodelite on two perpendicular surface. This does not include re-erection if required to achieve verticality)(The required theodolite will be arrange by the contractor at site of work ). (h) Checking the gantry and its ground supports (This does not include cost of concreting if necessary to improve the support). (i) Providing and applying rust removing solution and Zinc Spray on tower rusted area whereevr necessary as per manufracture recommendation. This will include other operations including cutting of unuseable nuts/ bolts where necessary.

NOTE-I : Rate includes cost of all operations mentioned above at S. No. (a to i) including hire charges of tools, plants and machineries, Binaculars for inspection, insurance premium of labours etc. and nothing extra shalll be paid on this account. ( a ) 60m High Tower of any Make, Shape and Weight.

Supplying at the site of work Hot Dip Galvanised members for replacing the missing members (if any) of Tower, Working Platform, Safety Cage, Ladder, Wave Guide Rack, Antennea Fixture etc. of required section, shape and size including Drilling Holes for fixing bolts etc. all in conformity with the approved drawings of BSNL and as per the directions of Engineer-in-charge and shall be made out of primary source of structural steel of approved make: viz. SAIL, TISCO, RINL etc. NOTES: (a) All material shall be Hot Dip Galvanised. The fabrication & galvanising shall be as per the relevant IS code. (b) Weight of each member supplied shall be taken for payment purpose. (c) The Rate includes the cost of all material and labour required for all the operations mentiond in the item including all carriage, taxes and other contingencies.

Supplying at the site of work Hot Dipped Galvanised Steel Plain Nuts, Check Nuts, Bolts, Plain & Spring Washers of grade 5.6 and as per IS: 12427 required size as per the structural drawing of the tower including threading the bolts for the required length all complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Credit for galvanized steel section like angles, flats, bolts, nuts, spring washers etc removed from the tower due to corresion, cracked wrapped bent sillipary etc (The contractor shall be allowed to take the steel sections only after the completion of the work)

Providing and laying in position cement concrete of specified grade excluding the cost of centering and shuttering - All work up to plinth level :

(a) 1:5:10 (1 cement : 5 coarse sand (zone-III) derived from natural sources : 10 graded stone aggregate 40 mm nominal size derived from natural sources)

(b) 1:1½:3 (1 Cement: 1½ coarse sand (zone-III) derived from natural sources : 3 graded stone aggregate 20 mm nominal size derived from natural sources)

Earth work in excavation by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator)/manual means over areas (exceeding 30 cm in depth, 1.5 m in width as well as 10 sqm on plan) including getting out and disposal of excavated earth lead upto 50 m and lift upto 1.5 m, as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (a) All kinds of soil

Filling available excavated earth (excluding rock) in trenches, plinth, sides of foundations etc. in layers not exceeding 20cm in depth, consolidating each deposited layer by ramming and watering, lead up to 50 m and lift upto 1.5 m.

Centering and shuttering including strutting, propping etc. and removal of form for :

(a) Foundations, footings, bases for columns

Steel reinforcement for R.C.C. work including straightening, cutting, bending, placing in position and binding all complete above plinth level. (a) Thermo-Mechanically Treated bars of grade Fe-500D or more.

12 mm cement plaster of mix : (a) 1:4 (1 cement: 4 fine sand)

Dismantling and dismembering of the top distorted/out of line portion of the 40M high ground based tower upto a required height necessary to make it correctly erect at Peerjhalar and stacking of tower members within lead of 50 mtr. including all fasteners, mounts, base plate, platforms, ladder, vertical cable tray, anteena, RF cable, electrical cable etc. all complete as per direction of Engineer in charge. Note:- The rate of this item shall include the cost of all labour, T&P other equipments etc. required for all operations specified above including scaffolding, saftey measures, belts, insurance of labour etc. The rate includes all the above operations and nothing extra shall be paid.

Reerection of the dismantled tower portion after correcting the rest of the bottom portion of the 40M tower and erecting the same dismantled tower portion to its full height including making all necessary operations like straightening the bend members, providing new members, if required, and replacing the missing and damaged nut and bolts, if need be, and making all arrangements to reerect a perfect 40M tower as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge. Note:- The rate of this item shall include the cost of all labour, T&P other equipments etc. required for all operations specified above including scaffolding, saftey measures, belts, insurance of labour etc. The rate includes all the above operations and nothing extra shall be paid. The cost of new members to be provided, nuts and bolts etc. to be paid for seperately.

Tightening of nut, bolts upto a height of @15 metre i.e. rest of the bottom portion of 40 metre tower which is not to be dismentled as per the item no. 11 at Peerjhalar including all operations and replacing the damaged/missing nuts and bolts and members including all operations, providing necessary arrangements for climbing on the tower and safety arrangements required etc. all complete as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge.
