REPAIR / MAINT OF CERTAIN ROAD AT DARBHANGA UNDER GE (AF) BIHTA

Scarifying or picking gravelled, macadam or bituminous macadam surfaces in area not exceeding 400sqm and exceeding 50 mm and not exceeding 100 mm deep complete all as specifed and directed. Note :- Old materials (aggregate) shall be used under item No 2 here-in-after.

Repair to pot holes not exceeding 1Sqm each including sweeping free from dust and mud water, scoring sunken surfaces in roads, paths etc cutting around edges to atleast 25mm in depth making good by applying tack coat @ 5kg per 10 sqm using bitumen grade VG-10, putting in screened and graded material obtained under item 1 here-in-before.

Water bound macadam (WBM) 75 mm thick compacted thickness with granite, trap or basalt coarse aggregate of grading 2 (63mm to 40mm) size, spread, rolled and consolidated to required gradient and camber complete all as specifed and directed.

Preparing un-surfaced WBM surfaces by brushing with wire brushes and removing caked mud etc sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc and applying evenly a tack coat of paving bitumen (VG-10) @ 10 Kg per ten Square metre complete all as specifed and directed.

Preparing of old black top surface by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc, sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc and applying evenly a tack coat of paving bitumen (VG-10) @ 5 Kg per ten square metre complete all as specified and directed by Garrison Engineer.

Premix bituminous macadam laid, rolled and compacted to required gradient and camber using binder (paving bitumen Vg 30) with 4% by weight of total mix all as specified (consolidated thickness 75 mm or less) all as specified in particular specifications. Note:- (i) The quoted rate shall be worked out on the basis of binder contents (bitumen VG-30) of 4% by weight of total mix. (ii) Work shall be executed as per design mix as approved by GE and less bitumen shall be deducted from the quoted rate @ Rs. 40/- per kgs. (Iii) The binder content specified is minimum. Any variation in binder content during design mix at site on plus side shall be borne by the contractor without any extra cost to the Government.

Providing Bituminous premix asphaltic semi dense concrete 30 mm consolidated thickness with minimum 5% binder content by weight of total mix, using paving bitumen (VG -30), rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient complete all as specified and directed by Garrison Engineer. Note :- (i) Work shall be executed as per design mix as approved by GE. (ii) The binder content specified is minimum. Any variation in binder content during design mix at site on plus side shall be borne by the contractor without any extra cost to the Government.

Preparing the new bituminous surfaces by removing or cleaning of all dirt, scales, oil grease and foreign materials etc complete as per the direction of Engineer-in-Charge and providing 2.5mm (minimum) thick hot thermoplastic paint (Retro reflective type) for road marking in white/yellow shade by fully automatic thermoplastic paint applicator machine, fitted with profile shoe, gun, beads dispenser, propane tank, heaters and profile shoe, heaterdriven by skilled operator on road surfaces. Note:- (i) Road marking work shall be carried out in accordance with manufacture's instructions and as specified in particular specifications. (ii) Refer MORTH specification of Para 803.4.2.1 and 800.4.2.2 on bituminous surface/surfaces in white colour or yellow colour and super imposed with glass beads confirming to BS 6088 and MORTH specification Para 803.4.3.3
