The cracks are to be saw cut into ‘V’ grove, cleaned thoroughly and be saturated as per manufacturer’s standards before crack filler application. The forced coverage for crack filler application should be maximum 22 rmt/kg for 2 coats. The drying time for each coat should be 6 to 8 hours.
Providing, mixing and applying Polymer modified repair mortar of approved brand on cracked and damaged portion of RCC structures as per specifications and direction of Engineer-In-charge complete in all respect. Repair mortar to be applied on the roofs wherever damage and cracks observed of more than 3mm wide. It should have strong filling capacity for cracks along with good water resistance and stop water ingress through cracks. The cracks are to be saw cut into ‘V’ grove upto 12 mm wide, cleaned thoroughly and be saturated as per manufacturer’s standards before repair mortar application. Note: Expansion / construction joints treatment is required at 04-05 roof locations in different buildings at NCPOR. The work shall be carried out all complete as per specification and the direction of the Engineer-in-charge. Application procedure (on horizontal surfaces) should include three coats of the waterproofing compound. Self-priming base coat with dilution 30%. First coat of waterproofing undiluted. Second coat of waterproofing undiluted. It should possess anti-fungal and anti-algal properties. It should possess excellent resistance to water, UV rays and ageing. The compound should provide a forced coverage of 0.9 sq.m / ltr. on horizontal & sloping surfaces and 3 – 3.5 sq.m / ltr. on vertical surfaces and should attain a thickness of 500 - 600 microns after the final coat.
Providing and applying cement-based ready mix mortar of approved brand on cracked or damaged portion of masonry wall plaster and on roofs of buildings for battens as per specifications and direction of Engineer-In-charge complete in all respect. Cracks may be wetted thoroughly prior to filling, to avoid undue absorption of water and subsequent shrinkage of the filling. The damaged roof battens should be repaired and should be of the same size and dimensions as per the existing ones. The damages include broken corners, cracks, broken edges, undulations in thickness and height, etc. The battens are to be provided with intermediate gaps (one above other) for allowing the smooth flow of percolated rainwater from the roof tiles.
Providing and painting (Three coats (01 base coat and 02 paint coat)) on old work with waterproof acrylic emulsion paint on external wall, applying coat of primer of approved make, color and shade to give an even finish, all as directed including all materials, labor, scaffoldings, brushers, tools, equipments, etc. complete as directed by Engineer in- charge. The product should provide superlative waterproofing capabilities and should form an effective barrier against water penetration. It should have higher elongation and should include fiber reinforcement thereby offering crack bridging ability of up to 2.4 mm at 175 - 225 microns. Application methodology: On old painted surface it should provide forced coverage of: 01 coat of basecoat covering 3.5 sq. m/ltr without dilution and 02 coats of topcoat 5– 6 sq. m/ltr (40% dilution). Location: External walls of all the buildings in NCPOR Campus. The buildings include Main building, lab block, fellow lab, auditorium building, guard office, canteen, sump and pump room, compound wall (fellows lab).
