Roadway Cutting

Excavation for roadway in soil by mechanical means including cutting and pushing the earth to site of embankment upto a distance of 100m, including trimming bottom and side slopes in accordance with requirements of lines, grades and cross-sections.

Construction of embankment with approved materials deposited at site from roadway cutting and excavation from drain and foundation of other structures graded and compacted to meet requirement of Tables 300.1 and 300.2 as per Technical Specification Clause 301.5

Construction of unlined surface drains of average cross-sectional area 0.40 sq m in soil to specified lines, grades, levels and dimensions. Excavated material to be used in embankment with a lift upto 3m and lead of 50m (average lead 25m) as per Technical Specification Clause 307.

Furnishing and laying of the live sods of perennial turf forming grass on embankment slope,verges or other locations shown onthedrawingorasdirectedbytheEngineerincluding preparation of ground, stacking the sods and watering as per Clause 309

Compaction

Loosening of the ground upto a level of 300 mm below the subgrade level, watered, graded and compacted in layers to meet requirement of Tables 300.1 and 300.2 for subgrade construction as per Technical Specification Clause 303.5.2.

Granular Sub-base with Well Graded Material (Table 400.1) (A).By Mix in Place Method (ii).For Grading II Material Construction of granular sub-base by providing well graded material, spreading in uniform layers with motor grader on prepared surface, mixing by mix in place method with rotavator at OMC, and compacting with smooth wheel roller to achieve the desired density, complete as per Technical Specification Clause 401.

Water Bound Macadam Sub-base/base Providing, laying, spreading and compacting stone aggregates of specific sizes to water bound macadam specification including spreading in uniform thickness, hand packing, rolling with smooth wheel roller 80-100 kN in stages to proper grade and camber, applying and brooming etc. 2).WBM Grading 2

Water Bound Macadam Sub-base/base Providing, laying, spreading and compacting stone aggregates of specific sizes to water bound macadam specification including spreading in uniform thickness, hand packing, rolling with smooth wheel roller 80-100 kN in stages to proper grade and camber, applying and broomingetc. 3).WBM Grading 3

Prime Coat ii) Medium porosity Providing and applying primer coat with bitumen emulsion ( SS-1) on prepared surface of granular base including cleaning of road surface etc.

Tack Coat (ii).Providing and applying tack coat with Bitumen emulsion (RS-1) using emulsion distributor at the rate of 0.25 to 0.30 kg per sqm on the prepared dry and hungry bituminous surface cleaned with Hydraulic broom as per Technical Specification Clause 503.
