| 1 | Material and labour for providing and fixing complete earthing arrangement with galvanised iron (GI) earth plate electrode of size 600 × 600 × 6 mm, buried directly in the ground in an earth pit of not less than 2.25 m depth below ground level, with the top edge of the earth plate not less than 1.5 m below normal ground level. The earth plate shall be connected to an earth continuity GI wire of 4 mm diameter/size, up to the test point with a minimum length of 7.5 m, using GI bolts, nuts and washers. The GI earth continuity wire shall be protected by 15 mm diameter GI light-grade protection pipe from the earth plate up to the test point, including provision of a complete test point. The earth plate shall be surrounded on all sides, at the bottom and top, with alternate packed layers of charcoal/coke and salt. Providing 20 mm diameter GI light-grade watering pipe, extending at least 100 mm above ground level, complete with socket, plug, funnel and wire mesh, including RCC cover with necessary steel reinforcement and PCC chamber of 1:2:4 mix, Type B1, using 20 mm graded stone aggregate, including necessary formwork, excavation, earthwork and all associated works. The work shall include dismantling and taking out the existing old/unserviceable earthing system, wherever required, and disposal of dismantled materials as directed. The complete work shall be carried out in accordance with the specifications and details shown in Electrical Plate No. 3 of SSR (Part-I), including all materials, labour, tools, tackles, accessories and incidental works, complete in all respects as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Note:- (i) PCC chamber shall be constructed at least 1.5 metre away from the earth electrode and pipe for watering shall be provided in slanting manner. (ii) The earth testing arrangement should be done by the contractor as per direction of Engineer-in-charge.

| 2 | Material and labour for providing and fixing complete earthing arrangement with copper plate electrode of size 600 × 600 × 3.15 mm thick, buried directly in the ground in an earth pit of not less than 2.25 m depth below normal ground level, with the top edge of the plate positioned at a depth of not less than 1.5 m below normal ground level. The copper plate shall be surrounded on all sides with alternate layers of coal dust and common salt. The electrode shall be connected to a copper strip of size 20 × 3 mm as earth lead, securely connected by means of brass bolts, nuts, washers, check nuts, etc., and connected to the earth test point/main distribution board. The work shall include providing 32 mm diameter light-grade GI pipe for protection of the earthing lead for a length of 7.5 m, along with 20 mm bore GI watering pipe, complete with funnel and wire mesh, and providing a 10 mm thick cast iron (CI) cover hinged to a CI frame. The work shall also include construction of the PCC chamber/pit with PCC 1:3:6, Type C-1, using 20 mm graded stone aggregates, including all necessary formwork, excavation and earthwork in any type of soil, returning of earth, removal of surplus excavated material, testing on completion and all other necessary materials, labour, accessories and incidental works, complete in all respects as per Electrical Plate No. 3 of SSR (Part-I), as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Notes: -
(i) The cost of excavation, returning of earth, removal of surplus material, construction of PCC chamber and PCC cover shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rate.
(ii) The earthing resistance value testing arrangement shall be carried out by the contractor as per the directions of the Engineer-in-Charge.
