DESILITING AND CLEANING OF DUG WELL NEAR RAIN WATER HARVESTING UNDER GE MINNIE BAY SRI VIJAYAPURAM

Desilting and cleaning of existing dug well up to 10.00 m depth by removing silt, sludge, mud, sand, stones, vegetation and all other deposited materials, including dewatering, lifting, disposal of excavated material, providing all labour, T&P, safety equipment and all works complete as directed by Engineer-in-Charge

(a) The following works required to be carried out under the job.

(i) The work shall consist of cleaning and desilting of existing dug well up to a depth of 10.00 metres below ground level/well top level by removing accumulated silt, sludge, mud, sand, stones, vegetation, garbage, organic deposits and other foreign materials from the bottom and side walls of the well. The contractor shall arrange all labour, tools & plants, pumps, ropes, buckets, ladders, lifting devices, safety harnesses, helmets, gas detectors (where required), lighting arrangements and all other incidental equipment necessary for safe execution of the work.

(b) The scope shall include:

(i) Inspection of the well and assessment of safety conditions before commencement of work.

(ii) Dewatering of the well, if required, including pumping out water to facilitate desilting operations.

(iii) Manual/mechanical removal of silt, sludge, sand, stones and deposited materials from the well bottom.

(iv) Scraping and cleaning of side walls, steining/lining and bottom surface to remove loose deposits, algae and other undesirable materials.

(v) Removal of floating debris, vegetation and waste material from the well.

(vi) Lifting of excavated/desilted material from the well and transportation/disposal within a lead of 50 m or as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
