PROVN OF CONCERTINA COIL FOR POLES AT BHISIANA UNDER GE (AF) BHISIANA

Supply only of punched tape concertina barbed wire coil, manufactured from high-tensile galvanized steel wire with barbs, cold-drawn unalloyed steel wire of 2.60 mm diameter, having minimum tensile strength of 1670 N/mm², conforming to IS 4454 (Part 1):2001, hot-dip galvanized in accordance with the practice recommended in IS 2629, with zinc coating conforming to the heavily coated hard variety specified in Table 1 of IS 4826, having minimum zinc coating weight of 230 g/m² having short barbs of 11 ± 1 mm length, steel tape of 19 mm × 0.50 mm thickness with hardness of 137 to 187 VPN, suitable for perimeter of steel tubular pole, supplied in standard coil form and of required diameter as approved by the Engineer-in-Charge, including all necessary packing, handling and transportation, complete in all respects as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Material and labour for providing, fabricating and fixing MS brackets/spikes/clamps for supporting and securing Concertina Barbed Wire coil around steel tubular poles, including cutting, drilling, bending, shaping and welding of MS sections/plates/rods/FI, provision of necessary nuts, bolts, washers and other fittings, welding wherever required, fixing to the steel tubular poles, proper alignment, spacing and securing of the complete support arrangement, including cleaning and removal of rust, dirt and applying two coats of aluminium paint to all exposed steel surfaces prior to fixing, including all necessary tools, tackles and incidental works, complete all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Labour only for fixing of Concertina Barbed Wire coil around steel tubular poles, from bottom to top up to the height as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge, including lifting, positioning, winding, stretching and securing the Concertina coil to the MS brackets/spikes/clamps/supports, maintaining uniform spacing, proper tension and firm fixing throughout, including all necessary adjustments and incidental labour, complete all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Notes: (i) Existing fittings, light brackets and other fixtures, if required to be taken down temporarily to facilitate lowering of the Concertina coil from the top of the pole and encapsulation of the pole, shall be carefully removed and subsequently refixed in their original position. The cost of taking down, storing/handling and refixing such fittings/fixtures shall be deemed included in the quoted rate. No separate payment shall be admissible on this account. (ii) Although the Concertina Barbed Wire coil is physically wound around the pole in spiral formation, measurement for payment shall be made in running metres (RM) of the vertical height of the pole over which the Concertina coil is fixed, irrespective of the diameter of the coil, number of turns/coils along the height or actual developed length of the Concertina Barbed Wire. (iii) The Concertina Barbed Wire coil and MS brackets/spikes/clamps/supports shall be measured and paid for separately under their respective items.
