Demolition by using hand hold electric drills, cutting machine, chisels etc (direct use of hammers on RCC roof for demolition is strcitly prohibited) of roof treatment including padding concrete padding of any description including mud in roof any thickness with and including roughening old concrete surfaces by picking, sweeping clean and washing down with water to remove dust etc complete all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.

M&L for providing plain Cement Concrete 1:2:4 type B0 using 20 mm graded stone aggregate, 25 mm average thickness as in roof padding concrete for roof treatment, finished even and fair complete as specified and directed. Note : (a) The roof shall be neatly cleaned with wire brush, broom and washed with water completely

M&L water proofing treatment to roof slab with APP modified polymeric membrane thickness not less than 3 mm plain membrane (weight of membrane not less than 3.80 Kg +/- 5% per Sqm) and weight of centre core polyster mat shall be 160 gram +/- 15% per Sqm and lower side finished with 10 to 15 micron thermo fusible polyethylene complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge with following courses of descriptions below :-

(a)The surface of roof, parapet and gutters and drains mouth etc over which waterproofing treatment is to be applied shall be thoroughly cleaned of all foreign matter, moss dust etc by wire-brushing and dusting. For cast iron/PVC drains outlets a grove shall be cut around to tuck in the treatment. Concrete angles-fillets provided at junctions between roofs and verticals faces of walls (parapet and other walls) around obstacles such as pipe, chimney stacks etc and other similar situation to ease up about corners..

(b) On the prepared surface one coat of Solvent based bituminous primer (Sika® WP shield Primer or other techno commercially Equivalent make of STP/IWL ) shall be applied @ 0.35 to 0.50 Kg/sqm till the surface is properly impregnated. The time delay of laying of membrane after application of primer shall be as per manufacturer instructions

(c) Laying of polymeric waterproofing membrane and bonded completely to the substrate & the overlaps are then sealed /fused by flame torch as per manufacturer instructions.

(d) The overlaps shall be of minimum 4 Inch (100 mm) side lap and 150mm at end ,sealed by the flame-torch.

(e) Applying aluminium paint on roof @100gm/Sqm .

(f) Special care is to be taken at singularities such as drains expansion-joints etc

Taking down existing sunken portion treatment by demolition of old concrete and carry out the sunken treatment as in following steps given below and procedure as per Appendix 'A' of Particular specifications : .

(a) S&F drainage spout pipe GI 40 mm dia bore light grade upto outside of outer wall (Approx 450 mm to 600 mm long)

(b) M&L PCC 1:1.5:3 type B0 (using 12.5mm graded stone agg), 50 mm thick laid in slope towards drainage out spout pipe mixed with waterproofing chemical as per manufacturer instructions of MAKE :FOSROC/SICA/ Pidilite/ASIAN/STP. Khurra 150mmx150mm (min) at appropriate location for free flow (of leaked water if any) towards drainage spouts shall be provided integrally while laying PCC.Fixing of spout shall be done with same PCC as in this item.

(c) M&L18 mm thick cement platster in CM 1:3 on vertical faces mixed with water proofing chemical of MAKE :301 Pidicrete URP of Dr Fixit or other techno commercially Equivalent make of SIKA/ Pidilite/FOSROC/STP/Asian

(d) Item no 4.03 shall be executed while concrete is green as per item no 19.02 above and proper curing and ponding test shall be done before laying drainage/water supply pipes upto the entire satisfaction of Engineer in charge.

(e) Applying two coats of SIKA TOP seal 107 of SIKA or other techno commercially Equivalent make of FOSROC /Pidilite/Dr Fixit/STP/Asian on vertical as well as horizontal surface.

(f) Drainage and water supply pipe if required & test for leakage/sanitary pipes and shall be laid to slope and a clear gap underneath the pipes shall be made available by providing suitable cement concrete blocks.

(g) M&L PCC1:5:10 type E-2 using 10-40mm down graded stone aggregate as reqd depth at site over and including 150mm thick 20mm single sized stone agg to provide a filter media .

(h) M&L PCC 25 mm thick 1:2:4 type B-0 using 12.5 mm grade stone aggregate as level course.

(j) M&L for 7 to 8 mm thick non skid ceramic coloured printed tiles joint free (square/ rectangular) area of each tile exceeding 0.11 Sqm but not exceeding 0.18 Sqm as in floors etc; laid jointing in neat cement slurry and pointed filled with epoxy chemical make: SIKA/FOSROC/PIDILITE/Asian/ Dr Fixit /STP.mixed with pigment to match with shade of tiles over and including 15 mm thick screed bed in CM ( 1:6 ).

Note for item NO 04 (i) Waterproofing Treatment shall be undertaken alongwith laying of drainage pipes/Sanitary pipes/ Drainage Spout etc (ii) The work shall be carried out as per the direction of Engineer in Charge. (iii) The sunken treatment work shall only be carried out after written approval of Engineer in charge for Leakage/seepage of water/sanitary pipes. (iv) Cost of drainage spout shall deemed to be included in the item however sanitary pipe, water pipe line if required shall be paid separately under respective item. (v) Laying of Chemical required for varios applications shall be as per manufacturer instructions. (vi) Plan area shall only be measured and paid. (vii) The contractor shall give a guarantee of 10 years from the date of completion of work for sunken treatment. The amount Rs. 25.00 (Rupees Twenty five Only) per Sqm and min of Rs 2500/- for sunken treatment shall be withheld from contractor’s final bill till the expiry of guarantee period. The contractor at his own option may furnish fix deposit receipt pledged in favour of GE (I) Kanpur.

Dismantling of floor hearth or wall tiling including cement mortar bedding (but not backing) and clearing rubbish off the premise complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for glazed ceramic coloured tiles joint free 300x450x6 to 7 mm thick on vertical surfaces such as skirting/dado set and jointed in neat cement slurry and pointed in colour cement to match the shade of tile over and including 10mm thick rendering in CM (1:4) complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for 25 mm thick PCC Type B0 1:2:4 (12.5 mm graded agg) as in floor , to receive tiles etc complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for 7 to 8 mm thick non skid ceramic coloured printed tiles joint free (square/ rectangular) area of each tile exceeding 0.11 Sqm but not exceeding 0.18 Sqm as in floors etc; laid jointing in neat cement slurry and pointed in white cement mixed with pigment to match with shade of tiles over Screed bed or bedding layer of cement mortar 15 mm thick for laying floor finishes in CM 1:6. complete all as specified and directed.
