Inch-Meter is size multiplied by running meter. Inch-dia is Nominal pipe size in Inch mutiplied by nuber of joints. Threaded joints are considered under but weld category. Supply, fabrication & erection of piping supports which are normally attached with pipes (like pipe shoes, pads, saddles, U-clamps, guides, hangers, special fabricated supports etc.,) with painting shall be considered as part of piping and shall not be paid separately. Reducers/funnels shall be measured along with piping of lager diameter of pipe.Spool pieces fabricated for temporary use of contractor (for flushing, testing, as replacement of control valves during testing etc.) shall not be measured as part of Piping. Fabrication, fixing/welding of all attachments, earthing cleats, RF pads, wear pads, steam traps, etc. shall be considered part of the work and shall not be measured separately. Vents and drains shall be measured from OD of pipelines and shall be paid at the corresponding unit rates for smaller sizes of pipe.In case of branch piping, the measurement shall be made from outer surface of the main line except in case if equal size branches, in which case measurement shall be made from centreline of the branching header. NOTES: 1) Proper safety arrangements for carrying out the job is under contractor's scope and the same has to be complied with as per the directions of the Engineer- in-Charge. 2) Piping up to 40mm NB shall be fully TIG welded. Piping size 50mm NB & above, TIG welding is used for root run only. 3) Fixing of sprinkler nozzles (1/2" Threaded connection) is not considered in the "but weld cateogy-Inch dia". To be considered as part of "Supply & Erection of Sprinkler Nozzles", clause C3, Sl.no. 5.6
