Earthwork in filling in layers to form embankment/ 10 cum 6500.00 sub-bank to required profile including trolley refuges and approaches of level crossings with contractor's own earth of approved quality in all classes, nature and conditions of soil including all lead, lift, descent, crossing of Railway track or any other obstructions, making and maintaining service road where necessary, octroi, royalty etc. breaking of clods, cutting trees including uprooting of tree stumps, bushes, etc. leveling and dressing of slopes (excluding mechanical compaction) in layers not exceeding 300 mm in thickness during progress of work in accordance with RDSO guidlines complete in all respects as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge with contractor's own labour, tools, equipment and all other incidental charges etc. (No deduction in quantity shall be made on account of shrinkage). Note- 1. The Contractor should establish field laboratory with all equipments for conducting all required soil test and compaction test at site. 2. Sample of earth along with its test result as prescribed and slope analysis result shall be submitted to the Engineer in charge before making the embankment. 3. The Contractor shall take undisturbed sample as per IS: 2132/ 1986 of the parent soil over which the embankment shall rest and shall conduct precribed laboratory test to enable analysis of stability of the base to assess its long term stability and details of borrow pit etc. 4. The temporary service road if required for transportation of earth to be prepared and maintained by Contractor at his own cost. 5. Before quoting the rates, the Contractor should inspect the site to assess the lead, lift and site condition etc.
Mechanical Compaction (by Vibromax or similar 10 cum 6500.00 vibratory roller) of earthwork / unscreened shingle / granular material in layers not exceeding 300 mm in thickness during progress of work at or near optimum moisture content to obtain a minimum density index of 70% as obtained in accordance with IS : 2720 (Pt.XIV) - 1983 in case of granular/coarse grained soils or materials and 98% of minimum dry density as obtained using heavy compaction (by approved mechanical means preferably Vibromax) in accordance with IS : 2720 (Pt.VIII) - 1983 in making of new bank in case of all other types of soil and 98% of MDD, in case of widening the existing bank as obtained using light vibrator in accordance with IS : 2720 (Pt.VIII) 1983 or equal to the dry density of existing bank whichever is less complete in all respects as per specification and as directed by the Engineer at site with contractor's own labour, materials, tools, equipment, testing equipment, staff etc.
Turfing the bank/cutting slopes with contractor's Sqm own turf, labour, materials, tools and equipment including all lead, lift, ascent, descent, crossing of road, waterway and any other obstruction including re-handling and watering to keep the grass alive with all other incidental charges complete in all respects as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer at site. Providing temporary barricading parallel to the Metre existing running track with 75mm to 100mm dia hard wood ballah vertically at a spacing of 1.5m c/c and connecting them with bamboos of (medium type and dia 50 mm minimum) horizontally (minimum 3 layers) .The rate includes supply of all materials required for making barricading e.g. nails, bamboo, ballah posts, etc. labour and tool and plants. Rate also includes earth work in excavation required to fix ballah post minimum 750mm in to the ground / formation and as per instruction of site in charge. Hieght of barricading to be kept minimum 1.200m above rail level of existing track. Demarcating tape clearly visible during night, should also be fixed. agency to take away all the materials from the site after the work is complete. Barricading should be dismantled only after the instructions of engineer.
Supply & driving of hard wood piles of Eucaliptus Metre or similar types of length varies from 5m to 6m and of average diameter 150mm. The rate includes supplying and erecting of derricks monkey all other necessary equipments, tools, plants, fuel, labours etc as required for completion of the work in all respect. The rate also includes application of single layer bitumen on the ballah piles before they driven into the ground. The ballah shall be driven only when these are passed by the Competent authority and driven order is given.
Rail (90R/52kg/100 lbs) pilling including leading Metre from Railway Bank to site of work and driving the Rail up to 16M and not less than 8M. The rate includes the cost of cutting rails and making shoe and hob for driving and joining two rails by fishplate and bolts, with other incidental charges complete in all respect. Rail shall be supplied by the Railways near the work site and payment will be made for the length of Rail driven in earth only.
Supply & loading of Stone boulders in RMC into cum any type of wagon. Weight of each boulder not less than 30 Kg and not more than 54 Kg each. Cutting Rail 90R/ 52 Kg/60 Kg 9MM/ UTS) by Each contractor's own arrangement in running track Cut
Boring 150mm / 200mm dia bore holes by hand Metre or by mechanical augering of suitable process in all kinds of soil like sand, silt, clay etc. (excluding Rocks) collecting disturbed & undisturbed samples at every 1.5m or less depending upon changes in layer/ strata as per standard method specified in IS code, preserving disturbed samples in properly sealed and labeled polyethene bags, measurement of ground water table, conducting standard penetration test in bore holes in every 1.50m depth intervals as per IS: 2131-1981, preparing field bore log simultaneously with the progress of boring and submission of the same along with the disturbed samples placed in order of ascending depth immediately after completion of bore hole. Submission of report on sub soil investigation in Each 03 copies which shall include (i) site plan showing Job position of bore hole, (ii) detailed longitudinal section of each bore hole showing the classification of soil and values of important parameters i.e. N.C. & P values, (iii) the result of various samples of each bore holes in proper tabular form (as per IRC- 78- 1983 Sh-2) (iv) Calculation of bearing capacity of soil & settlement of pile/ open foundation with specific design load. (v) Bearing capacity & technical recommendation of deep foundation for proposed structure. (vi) Classification of soil showing different strata with all soil parameter. (VII) Every bore hole should show ground level & bed level. (VIII) Level of ground to water level. (IX) In case rock is encountered, classification & characteristic of rock, RQD, safe bearing capacity, founding level should be mentioned. Nature of cleavage plane to be specified. (X) Report should show recommendation of type of foundation with detailed calculation for bearing capacity, settlement & embedment in incompressible layer/ Rock as per latest IS/ IRC/ IRS recommendations. One set of work includes the soil investigation conducted as per instruction of Engineer- In - Charge as per site condition.

Required nos. of Joggled fish plates shall be supplied by Railway at nearest P. Way Stores and the same shall be returned at nearest P. The item includes all things necessary to complete the work, all in accordance with the latest applicable specifications, guidelines, manuals instructions and includes, more particularly, and without in any way limiting the generality of liability to complete the work in all respect e.g. (i) dismantling/lifting of track panel by crane, (ii) scooping of ballast from track, screening & stacking along track (iii) removal of top layers of existing formation up to 550 mm (iv) spreading of blanketing material in layers not exceeding in 30 cm in thickness in loose conditions, leveling by motor grader & compacting by vibro roller of required capacity up to specified degree of compaction to achieve a compacted blanket thickness of 550 mm & finishing to correct profile.
