1. To evaluate sub grade strength and soil properties through bore holes shall be done on location of bldgs as per sketch and directed. Graphical boring log shall be developed for each bore hole summaries the result of soil explored. The graphical log shall be including location, date of exploration, surface elevation, depth of material, sample identification number as shown in figure (i.e. typical boring log encls) sample shall be collected at the depth 1 mtr, 1.5 mtr, 2 mtr and further 1 mtr interval or change of soil strata upto 10 mtr dept. To establish soil profile. (i) Drilling exploratory bore holes of 100/150 mm dia in any type of soil upto minimum 10 mtr depth. (ii) Conducting standard penetration test (SPT) at 1 mtr, 1.5 mtr, 2 mtr and every 1 mtr interval upto 10 mtr depth. (iii) Collection of undisturbed sample (UDS) at 1 mtr, 1.5 mtr, 2 mtr and every 1 mtr interval or change of strata whichever is earlier. (iv) Conducting fwg properties test:- (a) Soil classification as per IS 1498-1970 (b) Liquid limit, Plastic limit and Plastic Index as per IS-2720 (Part-V) (c) Depth of water table (d) Maximum dry density using heavy mechanical compaction as per IS-2720 (Part-II) at 1.5 mtr, 2 mtr depth. (e) In situ soil density as per IS 1720 (Part- XXIX) at 1.5 mtr, 2 mtr depth. (f) Chemical test :- (i) Soluble salt content. (ii) Chloride and sulphate as per IS-2720 (Part- XXVII) (iii) Calcium carbonate method as per IS-2720 (Part-XXIII) (g) Supplementary test :- (i) Free swell index as per IS-2720 (Part XL) (ii) Permeability test soil as per IS-2720 (Part XXXVI) 1987 and as per IS-2720 Part XIII) (iii) Organic Material in soil method as per IS-2720 (Part XXII) 1972. (iv) Preparation and submission of soil investigation report including recommendation for foundation weather shallow or deep considering safe bearing capacity/pressure of soil 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.00, and every 1.0 mtr interval upto 10.0 mtr depth (for settlement and shear criteria) for (G+8) storey building.
